One server/hostess appeared to be the only employee and after standing there for about 10 mins with no assistance we walked out. You cannot see the stage from the apparent standing portion of the bar. Half of the bar is obstructed from the stage, so if you want to actually see the band then I guess you should arrive very early.

It punches above its weight gloablly--with renowned acts on par with grander NYC or West Coast venues--but retains its small-club edginess with a steady stream of Europe's up-and-coming jazz talent. That said, you won't be impressed by the physical space or acoustics. It's a small, intimate club, guess it fits about 80 people, and has a low ceiling, brickwork, and roof-support posts partially blocking the view of the stage. If you can, buy tickets online at least a couple weeks in advance, which gets you a table & service. With a membership you get 50% discount and access to members-only events.

The short walk to its subterranean location, deep inside a disused beer cellar, gives you the feeling you're heading someplace secret, avant-garde, and maybe a bit subversive. But alas, every time I've visited, the physical limitations of the space have made my stay uncomfortable. It's crowded, and difficult to get to the bar. One often feels like one is stepping on toes to get to one's seat. Par for the course, for an intimate jazz club? Perhaps. I enjoy the music, but seldom the atmosphere.

Not only did they use bottom shelf liquor for the drink but it took 20 minutes just to have them come around to serve us despite the low volume of customers. For a venue that comes off as catering to high society i was very disappointed in their service and quality of drinks.

There is ample from and I sat at the bar. Overall great experience, though I wish there was the live music. The food was good and the service was fast. Highly recommend this spot.

If you are just here for drinks and vibes, at a popular time of the day, this is a very nice style-conscious hangout place. For food, breakfast, cakes ... I find the quality they serve a bit puzzling. It's as if no one here took notice that the world, including the quality of good café fare, has advanced over the past 25 or so years. I think it doesn't need much more than a fresh take on menu and food quality to make this a coffeehouse gem again. Currently it feels past its prime, and undeservedly so.

Same German fare but the dishes did not feel as "heavy" but it also might be presentation style. Their apfelkurcherl is divine! All around this is a good place to enjoy with friends, especially if you haven't seen each other in a while. The atmosphere invites you to stay as you will leave feeling like "wow that was a good night". Music, beer or aperol spritz, good service.... Good food!

There is a fairly big area with table service and of course a self serve Biergarten. We sat in the self serve area. They serve Spaten beer here and their Maibock was really good. The food choice is good and I loved the food here. The ribs were really nice as was the Obatzda and Nürnberger sausages. I also tasted the steckerlfisch and it was delicious. They have live jazz band here and that was a welcome change to the normal Biergarten music. Loved the atmosphere, the food and the service. Look forward to my next visit. A gorgeous Biergarten in the outskirts of the city.
