Had trailer de-winterized a few weeks ago, then did our shakedown week close to home making sure everything is working and making a list of what we forgot. Anyway water pump is sucking air causing faucets to spit. Called them up and they gave me a check list of things to try. Well I'm not doing some more involved testing. Made a appointment to have pump looked at/replaced. when i arrived they asked if i was waiting or dropping off. said was not discussed so he checked the schedule and said they could do it now!!! 1.5 hours later all done. pump had a crack in it. No idea how or when it happened. replaces with abetter one. But a big shout out to the service dept. on fast turn around. have never been to a place with such fast service. This is why i will continue to bring back camper for service here. most places have a drop off day then they look at it week later and your lucky if you get your camper back in a month. keep up the good work guys. read more

We bought our 5th wheel in 2020 from Kunes Country Freedom. Nick was very accommodating, knowledgeable, and experienced in selling RV's. The finance person was the best and made the process go by without any problems. (I was going to say without a hitch, but that wouldn't be true... they did throw in the hitch). Service has been great but you needed to plan in advance which shouldn't be a problem now with the new service bays opening up. Can't wait to come to the RV show this weekend. read more

Its really unfortunate that I even have to leave a bad review here, but I honestly feel I have no choice. I leave this review as I drive the 1200 miles from Slinger, WI back to Wyoming empty handed. 2.5 weeks ago I started the process of buying a used Keystone Avalanche 5th wheel from Kunes. After many messages back and forth, and after seeing several videos that they sent me, i left a deposit on the camper. They also sent me a picture of their inspection of the camper. This is a form required by the state to insure a safe, properly working unit. In it, it makes no reference to any roof or leak issues on the camper. A few things were to be fixed prior to me picking it up. So, We set a date for it to be picked up. When I arrived on that date, the camper was still being cleaned. No big deal. However, during the walk through I noticed a small leak in the back closest at the rear corner of the camper. So, I went up on the roof to inspect it. The rear corner had been resealed the day before. It wasn't soft and would have been ok. However, there was another large 4ftx2ft section that had a large crater in it. This isn't something that would have been missed by anyone. I noticed it immediately. It was so soft that I would never step on it as I would likely fall through the roof of the camper there. This was a massive issue. It was still wet and posed a major structural issue not to mention potential for mold and health risks. There is no possible way the dealership didn't know about this. There was fresh Dicor sealant all over the roof in spots, and they had just replaced the complete A/C unit 2ft from it the day before. Needless to say, this was a dealbreaker for me. I spent 20hrs driving each way. Probably $500 in diesel fuel, 2 nights in hotels, plus food, drinks, etc. So, somewhere around $800. All because this dealership wasn't honest about the camper. read more

We bought our first pop up camper from the same location. Decided to go back because of the experience the first time. This time was no different! Had a wonderful experience! Michael was very knowledgeable about the campers and what we were looking for. He has a wonderful personality and NOT a pusher! He was there through the whole process. If we had questions, we sent a text and got a response very quickly. When picking up the camper I noticed a screw had backed out and a piece was starting to come away from the camper. The people are very nice but their service work is close to terrible. I'm not talking about delays (of which there were many), I'm talking about the actual work. We purchased a new 2022 Jayco travel trailer from them in March 2022. From that point until October 2023, I had to make 16 trips for warranty service work - some trips to redo some of the work that they inadequately did. We had to bring our trailer back two or three times for the same repairs (more than one area) that were not done right the first time. When doing one of the repairs, the technicians put a large cut through the vinyl floor. They did this by screwing down a recliner with screws that were too long and went right through the slide out floor. When the slide out was brought in, the screw cut through the floor. They did not even check it out before I picked the trailer up. I found the cut floor when I got home. Unbelievably, two repair trips later for a different repair redo, they did the same thing with a screw and again cut through the floor. It took three trips and Kunes getting outside help before the floor was actually repaired correctly. I said the service was close to terrible as there was one repair which was done correctly and took a lot of work. That repair was for a defective AC unit and Pat their head service person worked on that and did a great job. It's the other techs for whom I have no faith. read more

We purchased our RV 3 years ago in 2021 in Elkhorn and it has turned out to be the worst decision we have ever made. This is our third camping season and sadly it is starting just the way every season has started. Our first outing was to Glacier with our elderly parents. The refrigerator froze all of our food. As there was no way to regulate the temperature. The shower door shattered due to the latch being cracked it gave way. Too many things to list. Second year after they were given a list of things to repair manager at the time said mistakes happen but he said they would fix everything when we brought it back for winterizing. We took it out and had no water. After many attempts my husband and another camper figured out when they de-winterized they forgot to close the outlets so it just sprayed water under the camper. We paid an additional $10000.00 for them to winterize and de-winterize our camper. This Memorial Day weekend we had problems and were able to call Buck who stated someone screwed up by not connecting our water heater. No Kunes stand is we didn't ask them to de-winterize our camper before we picked it up! Really why would we pick up our camper without de-winterizing it to go camping. The staff said to my husband we will get the heating element if you give us 5 stars on Yelp! I think that's extortion in my opinion. We get a call today we have to pay $170.00 for warranty work. We also had a brand new kayak in our storage compartments that we discovered missing when we got to our campsite and we're going to go kayaking. This really is just the tip of the iceberg with the. The worst customer service I've ever experienced!!! We went there to look at a rv a couple months ago and no one wanted to help us. So we looked and left. Sent numerous emails and no one takes the time to respond. So I spent my $100 K elsewhere but gave them a second chance with stopping in to purchase some basic essentials, the guy was so rude and no help. Literally NO help, my husband said show me what you have and I'll know what one it was and the guy still was rude and no help!!! Like you sell Campers and you are telling me you can't look a part up?! Terrible!!! Not to mention the prices were insanely expensive. 4 lightbulbs and a pack of TP $67.00 ridiculous! I paid for it cause we needed it and I was more worried my husband was gonna come unglued on the parts man that smelled like a ashtray!!! Purchased a 1 yr old used rv. Was told a retired couple had it on a permanent site for 1 yr. super cold day when purchased. Told a complete inspection had been done. Got home to notice one tire was bald. Took back. Had to pay for 4 new tires and repacking. Shortly after seemed to pull. Take in.. a brake was not connected. At this point used once. Next trip wheel well is dragging on same tire. Take in pay to get"fixed". Next trip wheel well dragging on tire again. Take in did not pay for fix. A year has now gone by. Used 6x last summer with about 24 hrs of driving. Take out this season. Shocks rip off frame on same tire. Frame bent. Axel bent. Freedoms response : it was a used rv when you purchased. We don't fix this type of issue. Contact crossroads in Indiana. "We're not responsible" for incomplete inspection and repairs. Took to a new place who rates frame shocks and axels as too close to specs to pull any additional weight. Will not be fixed for 2 months and $6000. Will not get back until after camping season. No offer of loaner.. speed up delivery of parts.. nothing from anyone. Thanks for nothing freedom! read more

Three weeks ago we completed a walkthrough on our newly purchased, preowned 2017 travel trailer. I was (and still am) so angry at the way I was treated during our paperwork signing that I sat in my car while my husband went through the walkthrough. During our rushed (mentioned how busy they are on the weekends, yet only saw a few people there), pre-scheduled APPOINTMENT for paperwork, with a frustrated tone, several RUDE comments were made to us. We are from Illinois and drove 2 and a 1/2 hours for the unit that we wanted which they had on their lot. Someone (pretty sure the owner) actually walked by and said "that's cause Illinois sucks" when we were discussing the added line for taxes. At one point, after some confusion about the cost of our hitch being added to our loan, I was actually told by the other owner, "you know if you don't actually want this trailer, we will just sell it to someone else." We were so taken back since it was really HER confusion that LED to our confusion. She probably should have left it to Casey who is the actual person who normally does the loan information. Casey actually knows what she's doing and has some skills on client interaction. The owner then made a comment like "we better get you out there because I hear you're pretty apprehensive about the actual trailer itself too." in an extremely condescending tone. We are making a large purchase and I cannot even believe they would talk to a customer like this! Period! I wish like nothing else that we could have found this same unit at ANY other dealer so that we did not have to do business with these people! I'm leaving this so that if you DO have a choice, you choose otherwise! Do not do business with FREEDOM RV!!! Hopefully I can help alleviate their overwhelming "busyness" so they can actually be kind and take their time with the customers that they do actually retain. Very unprofessional and no appreciation for their customers. Again, these are not employees, they are the OWNERS talking to their customers this way. I'm just grateful that we turned down all their "added protection plans" and went and found it at a MUCH better price for same EXACT plan they offered ourselves so we never have to deal with this dealer again. I really wish we would have went back to the same dealer that we bought our original camper from. If only they had this used unit available...the buying experience could not have been more polar opposite. On one positive note, they have two of the sweetest, most adorable dogs in their showroom. We purchased a 2014 camper from Freedom RV, and we were told that everything would work. When we took the camper to our lot, we dicovered the air conditioning did not work. We contacted Freedom RV and my husband talked to Gary (the owner) and was given pointers on how to operate it. We checked out what he had recommended and still had issues. We had planned on leaving the camper on our lot until October, but Gary said that the only way they would support it, was if we immediately brought it back. So, we took off work early and made a special trip (250 miles round trip) to get the camper. They took a look at the air conditioning and told us it needed to be replaced. We bought a camper with what we were told had working air conditioning and ended up having to pay to have it replaced. When negotiating payment at time of pick up, Gary threatened to go on the roof of the camper and remove the new unit and throw it in the parking lot and leave us with an open hole in the ceiling where the original unit (which had already been disposed of) had been. Gary also did not hesitate to be demeaning to me and my wife in the presence of his employees. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! He seemed to be more concerned about me wasting his personal time and ruining his evening. We liked our salesperson and the tech that did our walk thru, but because of how we were treated by the owner we would not recommend Freedom RV. We do not feel we got what we paid for. Pat H. My wife and I just purchased our very first Travel Trailer and are very grateful we found Kunes Country RV to help us through this process. As first-time byers we had no idea how many options there out there, and with options came questions. Our salesperson, Nick Heilman, was so helpful through the whole process. Nick couldn't have been more patient with us and was extremely knowledge. He gave us terrific guidance and was very responsive to all of our questions (there were a lot!!!!). After Nick helped us decide on the actual trailer, which took a couple weeks, we worked with James Taylor in the Finance Office. Again, couldn't have had a better experience. James worked with us and got us very attractive financing and explained all of our extended service and warranty options. Throughout the entire process we never felt pressured. Horrible, Horrifying experience with our Camper! I would NEVER in my lifetime recommend this place or a Keystone Camper- they do not!! Stand behind there warranty- we are stuck with an overpriced- piece of crap used for 1 Camping Trip - it is now falling apart literally, with 14 years of payments still on it- They say they are not responsible for it!! No Keystone dealer will warranty it- they say you have to pay out of pocket & get reimbursed by Keystone-- what crap.. so add another 10,000.00 to your payment to fix!! What crap!! read more

I bought my used fifth wheel here in June, 2015. It was "as-is" but was also told if there were any problems they would work with me. My final walk through was in a thunderstorm without the unit plugged in. I was also told at time of sale that on my pickup day I would receive discounted prices on anything I needed in the store. When I arrived they said it was a mistake and that's only for new RVs, not used. Upon getting home I plugged the camper in and the microwave would turn itself on by itself. I also found used diabetic medical equipment next to the main bed. I called Freedom RV. They said go buy a new microwave at Walmart and sorry about the garbage. REALLY!? A week later I took the camper on its first trip. No rear scissor jacks! I immediately called Freedom RV. They said bring the camper in and they would sell the scissor jacks at half price off of $80 and install for free. This is a 150 mile round trip from my house so I finally made a service appointment a couple of weeks ago. I was told the work would cost $160. I asked why so much. He said parts + labor. I informed him of the arrangements made and he laughed at me over the phone. After further persistence they finally agreed to the half price parts plus free labor. At this point after no parts discount as promised, being laughed at, broken microwave and medical wastes in the camper I opted out of their "service" ordered the scissor jacks online for $56 and installed myself in a few minutes. There are plenty of RV dealers out there who would appreciate the $11,000 spent and would want repeat customers. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere. This place is a joke. read more

so here is my experience. went looking before i bought the truck to tow. staff was not pushy but why would they be i haven't even bought a truck to tow a camper. i found a truck purchased it then went back. staff was still not pushy but were able to answer all my questions. found a camper that fits my families needs. paperwork and financing was all laid out in front of me. only fee was a 75 prep fee which isn't anything compared to what Ive heard dealers add in the paperwork without saying anything.extended services were offered but its all things i can do.walk through was kinda rushed and some parts were missed. as far as the trailer remember these things aren't built well.ive had it for 6 months and have done some fixes to it already. if you get a trailer know you will have repairs to it.so i dont blame quality on the dealer. if your getting a trailer do your research so you can fix any problems that arise.freedom has a good staff and good selection of travel trailers.plus they always answer any odd questions i may have read more
