Both of them went on to highly selective schools afterwards and had a common issue for TMS graduates-they were a year+ ahead of their peers. The students there are academically advanced because they understand the material more deeply than through typical teaching methods. They also learn to be part of a community and to relate to the broader world. The proof is in the pudding: one of ours went to a selective college at 16 and the other is getting straight As at a competitive private high school. The teacher of the week would forget to give my daughter the full lunch I packed, or routinely misspelled her name on her worksheets, or forgot to take her to the bathroom while she was potty training. One teacher was arrested, and I saw and reported a teacher being verbally and physically abusive toward the children. The response from the admin was blasé. They insisted they would keep an eye on that class, and then reported that they didn't see any signs of abuse. They also lied to me on the phone while I was watching the events unfold live on camera. When I would bring up an issue with the admin team themselves, they would blame the teachers and then tell the teachers I was mad at them, forcing them to apologize. Absolutely toxic. The playground has one play structure with one slide. During the summer, they took away the gymnasium room from the younger kids, so they were stuck in their classroom all day. Why am I paying over 100$ a day for this?

Both my boys (twins) do well in math and we wanted them to enter 5th grade just as strongly as they finished fourth grade. We had 7 total sessions where they strengthened fourth grade skills, as well as worked on fifth grade. Both of them have said it would have been much harder if they didn't do the math with Mrs. Doman. We will absolutely be working again with Colleen this summer!
