I was lucky to find Aranha Jiu Jitsu (only 15 minutes away via sauzelong stop of metro line B). I emailed Eric (via their website contact info) prior to my arrival and he replied a few days later, welcoming me with open arms. Aranha is the gym where many French and European champions currently train. It was my first time training jiu jitsu at a location other than my home gym- everyone was super friendly and got sweaty with me regardless (even though I did not speak a lick of French)! Zoe is a patient and knowledgable teacher. I love how she gives many options depending on your mood or where your body is feeling for the day (she will demo the pose, then give examples of how to make it easier if you aren't seeing your best, or how to make it more challenging if you want to take it up a notch.) I love the type of yoga she teaches as well (yoga synergy). But my absolute favorite is getting a massage! I happen to know she works with a wide range of styles, from sports massage (which my husband needs) all the way to much gentler stuff (which is what I need.) I can't say it enough - Zoe is fantastic!
