I visited CrossFit Kulturefit this week and have had a wonderful experience! It is a shame that…read moreCrossFit has not yet taken off in France, but I think it will get there eventually. :)
It is a small box (gym, for those of you not familiar with CrossFit lingo), with two coaches. Coming from a box in California that started very small, I prefer only a couple of coaches. Quality over quantity any day!
I have been training at another box in London for a couple of months, but the programming at Kulturefit is much better and it is obvious that the coaches, Albéric and Yohann, love what they do!
With CrossFit, you can have good programming and bad programming. The programming at KultureFit is great! I haven't been sore in almost a year, but only a couple of days at their box has left my body feeling like it has actually gotten a workout.
If you are living in Toulouse and looking at joining CrossFit, I recommend contacting them and trying it. If you want to get fit and reach your maximum fitness potential, it is the place to do it! It is much better than a conventional gym. You focus on functional movement to get you in shape for life. Need to lift heavy bags over your head, carry heavy groceries for miles, climb mountains, swim across oceans? Well, join CrossFit! It is a great combination of weight training and cardio. The community is kind and supportive! That's how it should be with CrossFit - everyone supports you and cheers you on. Whether you're first or last doesn't matter; it's all about competing with yourself. "Leave your ego at the door." ;)
Plus, if you are traveling, Toulouse is a cute town to get some sun and relaxation from a big city. KultureFit is sort of near the airport in the northern part of the city, so if you stay further south it can be quite a commute... but the tram is a nice and relaxing journey to get there.
If you don't speak French you might have some barriers, but the community is sooo welcoming and warm! Albéric speaks a tiny bit of English and seems happy to practice and Yohann speaks a little bit more. Still, you should learn a few basics to be respectful (I've learned my lesson, now time to learn some French!).
