Once we were seated we were greeted soon after and were able to place orders in a timely manner. I was impressed that the menu was large. There were plenty of offerings for both pizza and pasta. The pizza appeared to be Naples-inspired pizza; however, the pizza was thin but did not taste near as good as Napule in Helsinki. I liked that although it was Italian-style pizza, there were diverse offerings of toppings more preferred with American pizza. I ordered a BBQ cheeseburger pizza with BBQ sauce topping, ground beef, bacon and cheddar cheese. I also ordered a pasta with pesto sauce, fettuccini noodles, Kalamata olives, buffalo mozzarella and parmesan cheese. The pasta was very good and the pizza was OK. A small salad bar was included. Overall 3.5 star experience with good service and reasonable prices.

It suffices to say the pizzas generally aren't really your strictly traditional Italian variant. There's that personal touch with years of experience thrown in. The pizzas are box-filling large with plenty of fillings. There's sometimes a hurried feel to them that you see but likely won't taste. It's a busy restaurant at times with the phone constantly ringing. The place itself has a worn out feel to it, but it's comfortable. The salad bar (included) is mediocre on the best of days. Skip it, unless you are terribly hungry. There's decent roadside parking. Note that you need a parking disc.

And with the latter, the experience definitely improved. In 2014 they started with a very limited menu, a restaurant space that was too loud and with pizzas that heavily divided opinions. My pizza in 2014 was such that I honestly thought it was the worst pizza I'd had in a real restaurant. It was burned, toppings were so scarce that the crust bubbled and also the taste was just foul (have to admit I'd never eaten anjovis pizza before). After hearing much more positive reviews from colleagues, I decided to give Sitko another go and it was a good choice. The menu has expanded a bit and now had multiple pizzas I could have chosen from. Also the decor had improved so that the space didn't feel as loud anymore. They even had a DJ playing music now. On a Saturday evening the place was just as busy as it was after opening so they've maintained a good buzz and apparently improved the quality, winning long term fans. I went with the Vege pizza with eggplant, goat cheese, pistachio pesto, balsamico and pine nuts. The crust was thicker than on our previous visit and there were in general "a lot more to eat". I liked the tastes otherwise but balsamico combined with goat cheese on a pizza tasted a bit too sweet for me. I still definitely enjoyed the experience and I'm planning to come back to try the Quattro Formaggio and maybe the salmon pizza as well. The pizzas here are very different from pizzas anywhere else in town so I'm sure some like them, some don't. But I recommend trying the restaurant now and enjoying the "different kind of pizza"-experience as they've really tried to built unique tastes into the pizza.

I first gave three stars because I thought the menu was too expensive. Now I've changed it to five stars because Malabadi has become a favorite restaurant. The food is tasty and they've done an amazing job with the interior decoration of the place. It's great for lunch and also very nice for dinner with friends. Malabadi in Tammela is the second Malabadi to open in Tampere with the first one being in Hervanta. The prices in Tammela are a bit higher and the menu differs from Hervanta. While the Hervanta restaurant is more "homey" with darker colours used for decoration, Tammela restaurant is very very stylish and they've made the restaurant light and bright with big windows and light colours in decoration. The lunch buffet is great with warm meats, pizza, vegetables and a large salad buffet with all kinds of very tasty salads with spices. The salad buffet is partially like a meze buffet with marinated olives & garlic, couscous salad etc but it is mixed with more traditional items like mushroom salad and water melon cubed. The price for the buffet was 10,50e which is kind of expensive in the area it is in but perhaps they're making up for the big renovation costs or trying to be profiled as a more classy restaurant. I was happy to pay the price for the nice set of flavours and the seat on the patio in the sun but my husband complained ;) I expect the place to be very very popular at lunch time and fairly popular in the evenings. I definitely will keep returning for the lunch buffet and a great chicken kebab in the evening.
