Bought a new bike in august. Told them I am going to export it, as I live in a different country (EU) and since I will pay the VAT in my country, if it is possible to buy the bike without paying their MWST. They said that was not possible and that I will have to request the refund after the bike was exported and the papers sorted. It has now been over two months since I paid the VAT - twice - and no one in the store can't or won't help me. I have been there several times since then. The "one" person appointed to deal with this is never available to even speak to.
Another thing was, when I was buying the bike and checking it out the fuel tank was half full. The next day when I came to pick it up the the tank was almost empty - the reserve light was on. On the ride home there was a smell of gasoline coming from the bike. It turned out the fuel was leaking from the filler cap, under the plastics. The gas tank had to be replaced by KTM with a new one.
I can't say for certain that this is connected but it sure is a strange coincidence. If nothing else a new bike should come with a full tank of gas, not on the reserve. read more
