My daughter has been signed with Tru Talent Agency in Reno for a couple years now and has had a wonderful experience with them. She is only ten, but Tru Talent has booked her for a magazine shoot, a (very well payed) marketing shoot at a Tahoe resort, as well as a lead for a 52 showing musical at a local casino over the holidays this year. We've seen several of her friends her age that have had similar luck with this agency the past couple years. One of her friends was recently on a LOT of billboards in town. Others are on multi-media ad campaigns for a local water park. A couple of her friends have filmed toy commercials we see on cable all the time. She even has a couple friends her age that got spots in movies recently. Yet another of her friends has done fashion modeling for a high end designer. These are just kids her age and what I've seen over the last couple years. However, there are a lot of adults that are signed that we know too. We see a lot of them in local print and commercial work. One of the cool things about Tru Talent agency, is that you can check their Facebook page and see the talent that gets signed each week and what they are doing. It's a team community where that talent cheers each other on, and it's comforting to see the amount of jobs coming through, as a client. This transparency allows talent to see how many bookings are happening each week, and get a realistic expectation of job prospects. My daughter is also signed with a well known talent agency in LA and has been for about five years or so. I can say I am impressed with the professionalism, kindness, and amount of opportunities my daughter gets for auditions with Tru Talent Agency in Reno. Both agencies are on the same casting sites online and operate in the same fashion from what we've seen. It has been nice to be able to see the similarities. Additionally, if they submit you for a self-tape audition, they will assist you with the self-tape. That's really a BIG help for talent! Other important things to know: First, you do not pay anything if you are lucky enough to get signed. They ONLY get a percentage IF you are booked for a job. Please beware that you should NEVER have to pay a dime if you are signed with a talent agency! Your talent agent only makes money if YOU make money. Secondly, this agency does not sign just anyone. They don't want to waste their time if they don't feel like you are going to be marketable. If you are trying to get signed, you need to show them you are marketable! Lastly, Tru Talent Agency in Reno is not affiliated in any way whatsoever with the similarly named business in Las Vegas.

She and her team have been very supportive, enthusiastic, and have presented me with opportunities to participate in film projects, runway shows, and commercials. Due to Toni's persistent encouragement and coaching, I was cast in a paid principal role for a video game viral web film (Nov. 2011). On this project, I had the opportunity to work with an award-wining production company from New York City, and a top production team from Chicago. Toni also facilitated my involvement with "Dam California," a full-length film directed by Isaac Piche. The film was recently submitted to Sundance, and expects to debut in Feb. 2012. After participating for a day initially as an extra, I was later asked to audition for the primary female character! Although I was cast in a smaller speaking role, I did a scene with Jeffrey Weissman, who is best known for playing Teddy Conway in Clint Eastwood's Pale Rider (1985) and taking over the George McFly role in the "Back to the Future" sequels! I just completed a photo shoot with the Reno Aces in affiliation with their sponsors to promote a reading and math challenge. They found me a job a few years ago and as I was getting off work heading home, I got T-bone at an intersection and told them I have a police report and have to go to the chiropractor once a week. Long story short they terminated my employment with the employer even if I had a legit excuse. I called back after finishing all the appointments with my chiropractor and they simply told me to F**k Off! In a nice way and to be honest this temp agency mostly hire Hispanic, if your not Hispanic your chances are slim to none. I also left a review on google and they paid google to remove my review lol.
