Catherine was on time and an absolute pleasure to deal, this was also reflective of the professional way in which she managed my initial inquiry. Upon Catherine arriving at the hotel I was still unsure of the hairstyle I wanted Catherine took the time to discuss various options as well as making suggestions. I was really pleased with the look that she created. Catherine was on time and an absolute pleasure to deal with, she has a lovely engaging personality and made me feel very comfortable within seconds of meeting her. It is worth also noting that her technique in applying makeup is very hygienic and she is a true industry professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Catherine to anyone seeking professional beauty services.

I got charged for services I did not asked for. The staff curly permed my hair (which was not what I wanted but they did it anyway) without informing me of the extra cost of the service. The staff did not clarify the additional cost and just somehow went on with it assuming that I was aware of the extra cost. I had no option but to pay for the service which I neither asked for nor were aware of, otherwise they would just call security to force me to pay for the service and escort me out of the building.

I've gotten my hair cut at Seri three times in the last year. First time it was just a trim (my…read morehair was just about mid-back), the 2nd for a major chop (cut off 13 inches for a bob) and the third for another trim on my bob. I've been very happy each time. I've always gone to Korean stylists because they understand Asian hair very well, especially when it comes to cutting fringes. I was happy to find Seri. The cuts are $50, cheaper than a lot of places but still expensive. It's always easy to book and the staff are all very nice. They use keratase which is fabulous and way too $$$$ for me to use at home, so it's a nice treat when I get my hair cut. The bob they have was super cute and I totally loved the cut. They're pretty speedy but do a great job so I would definitely recommend them!

She told me she would add it after she finished curling my hair? Wait, what? How would that protect my hair from the heat that is coming from the straightener that you're using? I asked again and she said she would apply it afterwards. She just used some oils at the end. I was irked. I can say I left not a happy customer. Whether the customer is wrong or not, you should listen to them. Customers are not always right, but if it's what I want and what I paid for. Do what I say!

I did a hair trial about nine months before the wedding and I had the most luxurious Hollywood waves... really perfect. On the actual day I had changed plans to something more natural, and have really never felt happier with my hair. Thank you thank you! She made us feel at ease, was so lovely, and so very talented.

After first having a trial with her, where I showed her a handful of soomewhat vague pictures of the hair and makeup styles I wanted, she clicked immediately onto the look I was after. The day of the wedding I was somewhat anxious and running about. When Margeaux arrived, I got to relax while she glammed me up. I had asked for a few changes since my trial and she rolled with it easily. My makeup was flawless - natural but with a bit of dramatic flair with dark lipstick and eyeshadow tones. Margeaux did my hair with perfect vintage waves on one side (channeling my best Jane Russell) and a braid on the other side, to show off my coloured hair streaks. My makeup lasted well into the next day (I was exhausted and naughty and didn't take my makeup off before bed), withstanding a loooot of crying and kisses! My hair stayed perfectly in place throughout the autumn weather and hours of dancing. I would more than highly recommend anyone to go see Margeaux for their hair and makeup for their wedding, event, or any occasion when you want to look AMAZING!

If you've ever used the 'cost per wear' argument though, you'll have to agree that there isn't much else in life you can spend money on that you'll get as much use out of as a haircut. My stylist of choice is Lee. Lee has seen me through my wedding, my best friend's wedding, major job interviews, and my move from banking to fashion. With Lee I've grown my hair, pixie cropped it and even done the asymetrical earlobe-length-on-the-left-shoulder-length-on-the-right. Perhaps most of all though, Lee has the courage to say no. I wanted to perm my hair, he said no. I wanted to lighten it, he said no. I wanted extensions he said hell no. Substantially different to other salons where they use your hair hates and desires as an excuse to sell more product and charge more for different things, Heading Out knows what isn't a good idea. Now all you have to do is be able to afford him. At $130+ for a cut, probably best to get a second job.

Noting that it's pretty convenient for one who works in the city, the $10 price tag on getting your eyebrows threaded and looking shmick is very well worth the 10 minute wait. I give this place four stars instead of 5 because there have been a couple of times I left feeling less than a girl who runs the world. Today however was a very good day.

I've been going to the Emporium store for almost 2 years now for eyebrow threading/cleanup. The…read morequality really REALLY depends on which lady you get. Some are nice/polite and do a good job without rushing. Some are extremely rude (basically ignoring you apart from pointing to the chair for you to sit) and don't do a good job (uneven, over-threaded, thin brows with patches of unthreaded hair on the eyelid area). I generally put up with the rude workers and not so good work because of the cheap $10 price tag. Today, the job they did was UNACCEPTABLE. I have never had my brows done this badly, regardless of which brow place I've been to. All workers in the store (there were 4 in total) ignored me when I walked in. They were laughing and talking in a side rest room for employees and no one bothered to even say hello until after they had finished talking/joking. This was an 10 minute wait in a store that had only 2 customers and 4 workers. The brow lady left several very obvious patches of unthreaded hair on my eyelid area. She did not pay attention to her work at all (talking and laughing with other workers in their own language right over my head) and it showed. She somehow ripped out two hairs so violently that I now have two RED SCABS right under my brows on the eyelid. They are extremely painful and have been bleeding slightly over the last 30 minutes. She didn't even offer me aloe gel afterwards, and just immediately marched over to the cash register (even while I was gathering my things/handbag). I don't know if this place recently changed management or just stopped caring, but the work they do is unacceptable. The rudeness of their employees is shocking every time, without fail. And after this incident with the red scabs I will NEVER be going back there to put up with it again. Hopefully the red scabs/cuts ripped under my brows will heal cleanly. If they get infected or scar, I will be going back to the store to lodge a formal complaint.

Happily, MAC on Chapel Street isn't the only place you can buy it. Sadly, it IS the only place you can buy several of their 'exclusive' products. I've been here probably a dozen times. On several occasions I was just flat out ignored. On my most recent visit, my shopping companion and I received service that wasn't particularly helpful, but it was at least service. Until the lipstick that was chosen wasn't in stock. My details were recorded for when it came in, but now, weeks later, I haven't received any update. Sure, I'll continue to buy MAC, but I'll also continue to avoid this place like a truck stop toilet.
