When I first started writing this review, I realized that it was more of a complaint of other lawyers rather than why I've been so pleased with Heaton and Venuti. That being said, this review will exclusively be about why I'm five-starring them and not about my distaste for other lawyers (well, almost exclusively). Every cloud has a silver lining. For me, that lining was Ms. Eliza Heaton, the newest legal prodigy at Heaton and Venuti. Why have I been so pleased? Would you like it alphabetically, numerically, or in order of importance? I'll do all three. 1a. Quality work. She is very diligent in her work, always prepared, and thorough. It shows in the excellent outcomes and results I've had. No sad sacks here. There is a real pride in work here. 2b. Exceptional communication skills. There is no arrogance and superb follow up on cases. Nothing worse than chasing your lawyer to get an answer and follow up or having your lawyer speak to you in some garbled legal jumble meant to confuse. That has never happened with Ms. Heaton. 3c. Honesty. Now here's a commodity and should arguably be ranked 1a. Her honesty can be demonstrated in three examples. First, one time I asked her a complicated question and she told me, "I'm not sure, I'll find out." She took a day, figured it out and got back to me. Refreshing. Second, she has been very honest regarding the merits of a case and doesn't just encourage a case for her own personal benefit. Third, life always come down to the bill and her billing is clear and fair and honest; not some nebulous arbitrary bill or a psychotic bill listing each phone call or photocopy you were charged for. 4d. Compassion. I know I was going to speak about my positive experiences at H and V, but so many lawyers are so jaded or apathetic that work is just a job or a paycheck as demonstrated by their demeanor and attitude. Every interaction I have with Ms. Heaton has been enthusiastic and really caring about the case at hand. When I work with her, I feel that this case is personally important to her. That's meaningful to me. 5e. Pride. You can tell when someone takes pride in their work. There is a purity to it where the whole is greater than the parts. Once you start working with Ms. Heaton you will see that she takes great pride in her work which in the end is your work because she is representing you. I would strongly recommend Ms. Heaton to anyone looking for a lawyer; she stands for superior to any other lawyer I've used. I think that Ms. Heaton specializes in family law, marital law, and estate planning but will accept any variety of legal challenges on a case by case basis.

My father had saved his whole life but had not planned for this step. Greg and his staff were great and planning out how to protect some of my dad's assets when they had not been on protected from the state/federal government. While we ended up not needing his true service as my father passed away unfortunately, fairly quickly, the real value came afterwards in splitting up assets between myself and my sibling. It had already been completed by Greg's team and made being executive of the estate extremely easy. I cannot imagine how difficult things would have been without Greg's help. Not only at the time of my father's death, but afterwords, and continually for over a year as questions arose. Never once did I feel like I was bothering them with the litany of questions I asked. Mr. Peter Pullano, Managing Partner of the Tully-Rinckey office in Rochester, NY represented me in…read morea child pornography case in 2017. A federal complaint was filed against me in January and the time between my arrest and sentencing (in December) was almost one year. Since this was my first offense, this year was the absolute worst of my life and Mr. Pullano quickly recognized my sincere remorse and desire to rehabilitate. He spent considerable time, at my request, educating my family (including my wife) and me regarding the nature of my crime and the range of legal options and potential outcomes. He was always clear and forthright whether the information he had to convey was good or unwelcome news. While Mr. Pullano was my primary legal interface, I also know that other members of his legal team (including Mr. Zachary Ruetz) were working behind the scenes to research legal precedents and outcomes of recent cases which were relevant to mine. I would also like to acknowledge legal secretary, Mr. David Douglas, who was particularly helpful with scheduling meetings (sometimes on short-notice), collecting and organizing documents (including character reference letters from my family and counselors) and keeping me abreast of my legal bills. Because of Mr. Pullano's extensive experience, exceptional legal skills and deep understanding of the federal judicial system and the prosecuting attorneys and judges involved, the outcome of my case was better than I could have hoped for. While I was sentenced to 30 months of incarceration and 10 years of probation after pleading guilty to possession, this outcome was far better than the federal guidelines range of 70-87 months and the maximum potential sentence of 20 years. Mr. Pullano guided me through the process and encouraged me to seek counseling early. He also made it clear how important it was to follow all rules set forth by probation for my supervised release over the year which enabled me to spend extra time with my family between plea and sentencing dates and post-plea after gaining approval by the judge to self-surrender. In summary, everything came together for the best-case scenario because of how Mr. Pullano handled my case and because of the positive actions I took after being arrested based on his suggestions. While I'm not looking forward to incarceration, I feel the number of months is tolerable for my family and me and that justice has been well-served. I did my research before selecting Tully-Rinckey and discovered that I could have paid 2-3 times for a fancy, big-city legal team but, I'm convinced I made the right decision not to and that the outcome would not have been any better. Thank you Mr. Peter Pullano and Tully-Rinckey for the expert, successful and very practical legal services.
