Finally I decided to get them checked out. I went through a few tests at the office. Dr. Wintman told me the tests showed my case was mild. "Mild" I thought? No way! He then assured me that just because the tests show mild does not mean I do not have a worse case. There was no way I could wait any longer dealing with my hands. I planned on only one hand to see if the surgery worked. I was very nervous. The surgery and recovery time are quick and PAINLESS. Out of surgery Dr Wintman told me the carpel tunnel area was extremely tight. Thank goodness I wasn't crazy! I had pain of about a three on a pain scale. No need for medication stronger than ibuprofen. It took about two weeks for a full recovery. I immediately scheduled the other hand. Dr Wintman explained every surgery is different and not to expect the same results. After the second hand, I had zero pain. Dr Wintman said this hand was much tighter inside. This hand actually hurt me less. I was back to work after four days. This hand took longer to recover. The feeling I had was like a slight lagging feeling in my hand. I knew it just needed time and to be rubber out. I am two months out from both surgeries and would do it again!! ( even though I won't have to). I 1000% recommend Dr WIintman and his staff!

However, when you need to go to one - it's good to know there are physician's like Dr. Steven Selden, an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine, who are willing and able to put you back together and keep you moving forward. As an athlete himself, he knows that injuries however big or small can be earth shattering to his patients - whether they are sports enthusiasts or not. I have been seeking treatment with him for several years for various ailments - from several bouts of tendinitis to a more recent stress injury - and he has always been very caring and compassionate - answering all of my questions and concerns and taking the time to make sure I understate my diagnosis and treatment options. I have never felt rushed and always feel that I have received a thorough examination. Additionally, the staff at Orthopedic Associates of Central Connecticut, where he practices, have always worked at a level of professionalism that has not wavered even on my worse days. They see a variety of pain and suffering daily but have always been pleasant to me and others that I have seen them interact with while waiting to see Dr. Selden. I always hope that when I finally get a clean bill of heath that this will be the last time I will need to see Dr. Selden, but I am appreciative and comforted by the fact that if necessary, he will be there to get me back on the road - literally - to recovery

I…read morehad tried chiropractic relief, rehab therapy, and received two cortisone injections to my lower spine. The pain got so bad I couldn't bend to put on socks or lift the mattress to make the bed. I had reviewed many local surgeons on line and settled on Dr. David Kruger in Bloomfield, Ct. Others have stated.he is a surgeon who will not jump at a chance to use his surgical skills and in my case, while he was reserved and serius about the possible outcomes of surgery, he was also quite confident he could help address my problem only after thorough review of my MRI. I too was not hoping for surgery but I had exhausted all other options and when Dr. Kruger showed me the arthritis affected bone pinching my nerve we agreed to surgery. Surgery went well, and Dr. Kruger performed an L3 and L4 laminotomy and foraminotomy. I had been worried about the recovery period, but all went much better than I could have imagined. I was home the same day of surgery and took one of the painkillers before bed. As the anesthetics wore off it was immediately apparent my pain was gone. I never needed additional pain killers and went to work the next day (I work at home so did not need to drive). Recovery was painless aside from some stiffness where the muscles were cut. Although I felt fine and thought I could return to playing tennis after a couple of weeks, the Dr. recommended I wait at least 6 weeks. I tried, but in the fifth week I played tennis on Friday, golf and tennis on Sunday. No pain, nor stiffness. Honestly, it hurt more to remove one of the staples than it did for the surgery, and this was an anomaly. I highly recommend Dr. Kruger as an honest surgeon whose main concern is working with the patient to find the best solution for their problem -- even if this does not include surgery. In retrospect, I am disappointed with the Dr. that had advised I get the cortisone shots (not Dr. Kruger, but the folks at Hartford Hospital) as it seemed the MRI presented ample evidence the shots would have no affect. Is is great to be pain free just in time for golf season and I am enjoying playing tennis multiple times per week. Thank you Dr. Kruger.

He spent about 10 minutes with me then ordered x-rays (I had sent a CD with x-rays taken a month ago). There is no computer in the exam room to discuss the results, he showed me a picture of an x-ray on his phone. There are charges if you want a copy of the doctors notes, x-rays or to have your records sent back to you, I've never had this at other places. With regard to use, he had done a higher amount of robotic-assisted total knee surgery when his practice was reviewed in CT around 2020. The list of doctors offering this type of surgery is low in most areas in the state. Many doctors that are considered the best in orthopedic sports medicine do not use it in their practice and have no knowledge of its remarkable advantage for their patients' surgical outcome and recovery time. Many patients can literally walk out of surgery centers unassisted. I encountered this experience and had a very short physical therapy experience. My physical therapist told me on my first evaluation visit that I would likely need a very abbreviated program. I achieved the recommended flexion and extension requirements of my artificial knee joint in record time and without incident. Starling Physicians in New Britain appears to have attracted other specialized orthopedic surgeons as well. I recommend Dr Belniak for robotic-assisted joint replacement without reservation. Doctors in his category may be difficult to make surgical plans with due to popularity spread so widely in many forms of media. To me, I wouldn't hesitate putting him first on your list to reach out to perform your surgery.
