Plays decent music, but in the last week they have been running non stop misinformation adds. Their host are bias towards Maga which is fine everyone is entitled to their opinions but now they're running non stop MAGA propaganda adds. This is a updated review since I can't get into my old account but this will be a nicer review out of Utah since spring of 2006. There are still lots of ways to listen to oldies either online or in Utah we have a couple good stations still over the air but I will share my feelings about K-Earth... I miss the "old" K-Earth that played oldies the late 50s, 60s, & 70s a long with the air talent or djs and Charley Van Dyke announcing "From the entertainment capital of the world... bomp, boop, bomp, another twelve in a row" followed by the Johnny Mann singers, K Earth 101!!! But "New" K-Earth isn't terrible I guess with it's new talent or djs playing 80s which I guess is now oldies sad to say. I don't like it but I understand that K-Earth had to evolve I will give it five stars from the time I was a avid listener. read more

I lived in Los Angeles during the heyday of Top 40 Radio, unfortunately RKO General got cought with there hand in the cookie jar,so to speak and Lost there license to Broadcast Radio and Television thus the move to KRTH 101. I started to Listen to KRTH when it switched from 93/KHJ, The real Don Steel, Morgan in the morning etc. That format was outstanding. The contests WOW the give aways. I heard that same gingles on 68/WRKO Boston, WOR/FM New York and if I remember correctly CKLW Winsor/Detroit. Love the sound. Kearth 101 was then really great. Although I do understand the gripes about KRTH moving beyond the oldies and into the primarily 80's, I'm not complaining. I grew up on KROQ and listening to Richard Blade. The KRTH song list takes me back and I love it ! An added plus is my teens love the 80's and everything 80's is considered "vintage". Vintage is COOL ! I recently attended one of their 80's concerts at the Honda Center and it was a blast. I'm glad they went a little outside the box with the violent fems. Good job. Four stars because they can expand a little more into the 80's. Maybe take it into the top 200 songs of the decade. I was a radio DJ in the 80's so I know there is definitely a lot more out there. I wish I could give Zero stars and that's a shame because I loved K-Earth growing up as a 90s baby even after I moved up north to Utah in 2006 I would tune into K-Earth online once in a while even though the salt lake market had its own market of oldies stations too. (I live about 45 miles south of Salt lake) I noticed in 2014 onward K-Earth went to trash. I understand adding 80s but once they got rid of the great air talents and took away the 60s to 70s and Motown I knew her days were numbered. I'll share a few stations that I listen to now that anybody can online: 96.7 fm Utah's goat, (online) Kool fm 105.1 (It might still be 105.5 in the app with sun glasses, Pop, soul, and rock n roll) By the way this is the station I listen to the most and is very similar to how K-Earth used to be best of the 60s & 70s with a few 80s songs once in a great while and great air talent too. Kool fm the app has sun glasses and it's either 105.5 or 105.1 they changed frequencies recently. Bob fm 100.7 similar to Jack FM. Last one I'll recommend is more classic hits 94.1 Kodj online or the app- it might be under iHeartRadio. In addition to Pandora and satellite radio, etc I created my own playlist on YouTube that has some variety but lots of oldies too. I've been listening for about 8 years. And they play the exact same songs Over and over again! "Like a prayer, 1999, in the air, Africa, sweet home, I will survive, heart of glass, omggg! And 99 luftballons, tiny dancer, Billie Jean, hot stuff, danger zone, hotel California." One of these songs always comes up every hour. They'll play a few good ones here and there. Also when you win tickets, good luck getting them. I won tickets to six flaggs holiday lights on the 6th of December. Didn't end up getting them till Jan 3!! I called and went to the station many times and no one ever gave me answer until I got a random email to meet them there. They need to change up the music cause it's all 80's. I listen to K earth daily and can not believe what I hear. The same 5 to 6 songs over and over again daily. With thousands of songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s, there should be plenty to chose from and make a decent Playlist daily. I used to work at k earth back in 98 when it was at Venice and fairfax. Although my time there was short lived I have to say that I met a lot of really good people. My immediate supervisors name was Chrissy Hamilton and even though she was a pain she was actually a very good person who gave me a shot and stuck by me. Keith and collette smith were some of the most genuine people I've ever met in life. So many great people that today 20+ years later I'd love to say thank you to. Okay so I figured I give them 5 stars for the years I was an avid listener and fan... I mean I LOVED the music they played from 1985-until they started playing 70's and 80's. I love those decades, but some of the songs I just didn't dig. Sorry, I am very picky with the type of pop and rock music I listen to. So lets fast forward from the times they played Elvis, Richie Valens, Ricky Nelson, and The Platters....and so many more awesomeness.... Now that it has changed and I don't ever hear any "oldies, but goodies" therefore have deducted 4 stars, but then added 2 more stars because I have heard some good The Cure songs, Michael Jackson is always played (and honestly, I'll never get tired of his music) and I'll hear a few great and unique 80's. Don't get me started on the Christmas season...the music is horrific in my opinion. I actually had a dream to start up my own radio station and play music from 1950-1970. I don't have money to do so, so I hope I will find a radio station to do that some day... in the meantime I will have to just add it to my mp3 player and make my own dj playlist =( so I leave you with this tune...." You can review radio stations?! No f*****g way! I love this station! It has a better variety compared to KOLA 99.9, as much as I love Fleetwood Mac and Elton John, hearing them all the time annoys me. Sad thing is I can't get it east of Rancho Cucamonga, minus 2 stars since I live San Bernardino, talk about a weird cutoff point. Why not encompass the whole IE? Please improve that if you can! Love the Totally '80's on Friday night, but the DJ's give out a phone number 800-232-KRTH to call in requests. Call in for a request for anything from the Little River Band and was told that they are not on their playlist, they can't play anything from them. If you are going to be Totally '80's the you need to be Totally '80's, not just the limited playlist that you keep playing over and over and over. Enough "Take on Me", enough "Come on Eileen", you have a whole decade and the programming manager is limiting it to the top 100 songs of the decade? That sucks. read more

I love this station. It tends to stick to the lighter side of classic rock(so you won't be hearing Zeppelin of AC/DC) but its selection is outstanding. Quick commercial breaks and great DJs. Shotgun Tom Kelly is one of the coolest guys I've ever heard on the airwaves! This is one of the regular stations that I stream in if I'm in the mood for some easy listening classics. I grew up in So Cal and K Earth was one of our go to stations. When they stopped playing 50's music I was very disappointed but took solace in the fact that their HD channel was available, and was nothing but 50's and 60's music. Well, that station changed to Radio Disney and I'm left with the sad reality that there isn't a broadcast station in Southern California playing the classics from the 50's and 60's. The current programming is generic 80's and 90's pop. Between talk and music, i listen to quite a lot of radio, but now feel compelled to explore things like Pandora.
