Can we retire these outdated radio hosts? They're all rude and old minded. Just listened to a host downplay Sean Penn's treatment of Madonna as 'quirky' and the guy in the backround just laughed and laughed along. Thats disgusting behavior. And its not the first time. I grew up listening to KRTH 101.1. Shame on them. Stop downplaying abhorrent behavior. read more

Disappointed in KRTH 101 playing racist ads urging people to self deport. Also, they keep playing the same songs over & over. If you're going to play 80's songs, play a greater variety. I used to listen to KRTH back in the day, from the 70's to 2001. No more. read more

I used to like KRTH for their oldies then for their 80's music but now they're also playing rap & this week a DJ was talking about the interview of the oldest living person & their philosophy of living a long life & the DJ said he was hoping they'd say they smoked & drank everyday and did cocaine! Come on, do you not think children may be listening in the car with parents, etc.? This radio station seems to be going downhill. read more

Plays decent music, but in the last week they have been running non stop misinformation adds. Their host are bias towards Maga which is fine everyone is entitled to their opinions but now they're running non stop MAGA propaganda adds. It feels like north Korea level of propaganda and I can't support those destroying the country to make a buck. I will no longer tune in and have convinced my employer to switch to Spotify. read more

I emailed the program director to ask why with 3 decades of music they repeat the same songs so much. I also asked why when they focus on one year it is always the 1980's I never received a response, guess they don't know. read more

This is a updated review since I can't get into my old account but this will be a nicer review out of Utah since spring of 2006. There are still lots of ways to listen to oldies either online or in Utah we have a couple good stations still over the air but I will share my feelings about K-Earth... I miss the "old" K-Earth that played oldies the late 50s, 60s, & 70s a long with the air talent or djs and Charley Van Dyke announcing "From the entertainment capital of the world... bomp, boop, bomp, another twelve in a row" followed by the Johnny Mann singers, K Earth 101!!! But "New" K-Earth isn't terrible I guess with it's new talent or djs playing 80s which I guess is now oldies sad to say. I don't like it but I understand that K-Earth had to evolve I will give it five stars from the time I was a avid listener. read more

I lived in Los Angeles during the heyday of Top 40 Radio, unfortunately RKO General got cought with there hand in the cookie jar,so to speak and Lost there license to Broadcast Radio and Television thus the move to KRTH 101. I started to Listen to KRTH when it switched from 93/KHJ, The real Don Steel, Morgan in the morning etc. That format was outstanding. The contests WOW the give aways. I heard that same gingles on 68/WRKO Boston, WOR/FM New York and if I remember correctly CKLW Winsor/Detroit. Love the sound. Kearth 101 was then really great. Nothing since then has come close to that sound, Miss it. read more

Sad to see that comments from 8 years ago are still relevant today. Same songs played over and over and over and over again. I can't take it anymore, every time this station is on at work I leave with a massive headache. I'm so not looking forward to Christmas time. They'll be playing the same songs on repeat. read more

Although I do understand the gripes about KRTH moving beyond the oldies and into the primarily 80's, I'm not complaining. I grew up on KROQ and listening to Richard Blade. The KRTH song list takes me back and I love it ! An added plus is my teens love the 80's and everything 80's is considered "vintage". Vintage is COOL ! I recently attended one of their 80's concerts at the Honda Center and it was a blast. I'm glad they went a little outside the box with the violent fems. Good job. Four stars because they can expand a little more into the 80's. Maybe take it into the top 200 songs of the decade. I was a radio DJ in the 80's so I know there is definitely a lot more out there. Thanks KRTH for evolving through the decades and no longer being the station I grew up hearing my mom listening to...lol read more

I wish I could give Zero stars and that's a shame because I loved K-Earth growing up as a 90s baby even after I moved up north to Utah in 2006 I would tune into K-Earth online once in a while even though the salt lake market had its own market of oldies stations too. (I live about 45 miles south of Salt lake) I noticed in 2014 onward K-Earth went to trash. I understand adding 80s but once they got rid of the great air talents and took away the 60s to 70s and Motown I knew her days were numbered. I'll share a few stations that I listen to now that anybody can online: 96.7 fm Utah's goat, (online) Kool fm 105.1 (It might still be 105.5 in the app with sun glasses, Pop, soul, and rock n roll) By the way this is the station I listen to the most and is very similar to how K-Earth used to be best of the 60s & 70s with a few 80s songs once in a great while and great air talent too. Kool fm the app has sun glasses and it's either 105.5 or 105.1 they changed frequencies recently. Bob fm 100.7 similar to Jack FM. Last one I'll recommend is more classic hits 94.1 Kodj online or the app- it might be under iHeartRadio. In addition to Pandora and satellite radio, etc I created my own playlist on YouTube that has some variety but lots of oldies too. I'll share the link below feel free to listen: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxT3MT5ROjfysQXmXs7EOqYpbR-nRZNdE (If the link above doesn't work go to YouTube and type in (Trae & Lori favorites) it has over 1200 songs to listen to, hit shuffle or browse through the playlist and enjoy. Anyways I got off topic thanks for the memories but R.I.P old K-Earth but like almost everyone else is saying K-Earth is gone, nothing more than a boring 80 station that plays the same boring 80s songs over and over again and I don't know the djs or air talent anymore since they forced all the people I enjoyed listening to over the years out the door like: Shotgun, Christina Kelly, Sylvia Aimerito, Dave Randall, Jim Carson, Charlie Tuna before he died, Bruce Chandler you get the idea. I'm surprised they didn't get rid of Gary and Lisa in the morning but they got rid of everyone else. -Rip old K-Earth, you are missed. read more

Stop with the Propaganda crap ads! I don't know how much the Government is giving you to post the Propaganda Vaxx and Booster crap to post those ads but I bet it's a lot of money. I used to love this station. I love the '80's music but not the Propaganda crap. read more

I listen to K earth daily and can not believe what I hear. The same 5 to 6 songs over and over again daily. With thousands of songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s, there should be plenty to chose from and make a decent Playlist daily. I am so close to seitch to find a nicer variety of music from another station. Either change out your music schedule with less same songs over and over again or lose more listners. read more

I used to work at k earth back in 98 when it was at Venice and fairfax. Although my time there was short lived I have to say that I met a lot of really good people. My immediate supervisors name was Chrissy Hamilton and even though she was a pain she was actually a very good person who gave me a shot and stuck by me. Keith and collette smith were some of the most genuine people I've ever met in life. So many great people that today 20+ years later I'd love to say thank you to. Thank you Krth for helping me stay above water at a time in my life when I was young (19) with 2 kids and struggling to stay afloat. read more

I've been listening for about 8 years. And they play the exact same songs Over and over again! "Like a prayer, 1999, in the air, Africa, sweet home, I will survive, heart of glass, omggg! And 99 luftballons, tiny dancer, Billie Jean, hot stuff, danger zone, hotel California." One of these songs always comes up every hour. They'll play a few good ones here and there. Also when you win tickets, good luck getting them. I won tickets to six flaggs holiday lights on the 6th of December. Didn't end up getting them till Jan 3!! I called and went to the station many times and no one ever gave me answer until I got a random email to meet them there. They need to change up the music cause it's all 80's. Do a totally 90's or 70's weekend please ! read more

Love the morning show! But they play the same songs over and over again all day..EVERYDAY!! So annoying!!

My new go-to radio station in L.A. is now 1260 AM KSUR. It is what KRTH once sadly was - a true oldies station. No junk from the 70's, 80's or 90's. Beatles, Rolling Stones, Animals, DC5, Kinks, etc. You get my drift. If you are headed to the Palm Springs area, tune into 106.5 FM KVGH, Coachella Valley oldies. read more

O holy mother of god INCREASE THE NUMBER OF SONGS YOU PLAY!!! I have no control over what we listen to in my office, but in an 8-hour shift I'll hear Hotel California 3x, Take Me On 3x, 1999 3x. I'll hear your ENTIRE rotation THREE TIMES!!! Jesus man have pity on us! I bet your rotatiaon is only 20 songs! At least if you're going to play the same artist, you could play different songs. Guess What? The Eagles have OTHER SONGS THAN HOTEL CALIFORNIA! And Pink Floyd have more songs than Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2! Seriously! Look it up! Queen sang more than Bohemian Rhapsody and Find Me Someone to Love! For awhile there, if I heard Bohemian Rhapsody, I could look down and know it was 32 minutes after the hour. Yeah you are THAT repetitive, THAT unimaginative, and THAT boring. And that cackling hen on the morning show? WTF is wrong with her? She'd laugh at a school shooting. I swear your entire station is the poster child of "lowest common denominator programming." read more

Stop playing 80's music it sucks ! Play real oldies ! Like 70's 60's and 50's ! Way to much 80's yuck !

Note from K-EARTH: "Our oldies song generator is currently out of order. For the meantime, here's some disco and 80's top 40" Bring back the oldies varieties! read more

I like it. My car was at the mechanic, and I got a loaner. It was fun jetting around in a red Datsun 280. When I picked up my car, my radio station was tuned to this station. It plays mellow vibes, like Stylistics and Barry White. Yeah, doesn't sound so great, but driving around late at night, what's wrong with: My darling, I can't get enough of your love babe Girl, I don't know, I don't know why Can't get enough of your love babe Oh, some things I can't get used to No matter how I try Just like the more you give, the more I want And baby, that's no lie Oh no, babe Tell me, what can I say? What am I gonna do? How should I feel when everything is you? What kind of love is this that you're givin' me? Is it in your kiss or just because you're sweet? Girl, all I know is every time you're here I feel the change Somethin' moves I scream your name Do whatcha got to do (?) Darling, I can't get enough of your love babe Girl, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know why I can't get enough of your love babe read more

Okay so I figured I give them 5 stars for the years I was an avid listener and fan... I mean I LOVED the music they played from 1985-until they started playing 70's and 80's. I love those decades, but some of the songs I just didn't dig. Sorry, I am very picky with the type of pop and rock music I listen to. So lets fast forward from the times they played Elvis, Richie Valens, Ricky Nelson, and The Platters....and so many more awesomeness.... Now that it has changed and I don't ever hear any "oldies, but goodies" therefore have deducted 4 stars, but then added 2 more stars because I have heard some good The Cure songs, Michael Jackson is always played (and honestly, I'll never get tired of his music) and I'll hear a few great and unique 80's. Don't get me started on the Christmas season...the music is horrific in my opinion. I actually had a dream to start up my own radio station and play music from 1950-1970. I don't have money to do so, so I hope I will find a radio station to do that some day... in the meantime I will have to just add it to my mp3 player and make my own dj playlist =( so I leave you with this tune...." Bom ba ba bom ba bom ba bom bom ba ba bom ba ba bom ba ba dang a dang dang Ba ba ding a dong ding Blue moooooon" read more

You can review radio stations?! No f*****g way! I love this station! It has a better variety compared to KOLA 99.9, as much as I love Fleetwood Mac and Elton John, hearing them all the time annoys me. Sad thing is I can't get it east of Rancho Cucamonga, minus 2 stars since I live San Bernardino, talk about a weird cutoff point. Why not encompass the whole IE? Please improve that if you can! If it wasn't for car iPod capability and a few other stations, I don't know how I'd survive living in the "radio desert". read more

This radio station is crap. They play the same songs everyday, the people from the show in the mornings are annoying. That one chick with the annoying laugh. Oh god, I can keep going. The only reason why I have to listen to this bs is because I work at a dentist and that's the only station the dr likes. I've even had patients complain that they don't like station. read more

This station plays the same song over and over again!!! I'm an 80's music fan, but don't ruin the song by playing it over!!!!! There's other great music from the 80's!!! Damn!! There's no more good radio stations in L.A.!!!! read more

SHAME ON YOU Lisa Standley!!! For that racists remark about Yasiel Puig's language deficit last week. Saying that "he first needs to learn English." read more

KRTH - Radio Stations Near Me - Los Angeles, California

I'm done. Been listening to K-RTH since college, 40 years ago. What happened? 50s 60s and 70s were the mainstream with some 80s rolled in. Now it seems to be 80s only and it's repetitive. Doubtful you are gaining the new generation since they listen to their downloaded music on their phones in the car Go back to what worked. Otherwise, yourmloyalmaudience will disappear. read more

Love the Totally '80's on Friday night, but the DJ's give out a phone number 800-232-KRTH to call in requests. Call in for a request for anything from the Little River Band and was told that they are not on their playlist, they can't play anything from them. If you are going to be Totally '80's the you need to be Totally '80's, not just the limited playlist that you keep playing over and over and over. Enough "Take on Me", enough "Come on Eileen", you have a whole decade and the programming manager is limiting it to the top 100 songs of the decade? That sucks. read more

Unbelievable! Hotel California AGAIN! Guys, yes it's a good song but don't make it a Nightmare. The Eagles had A LOT of good songs. Play those songs! I'm about ready to pull my hair out with the repeats of Hotel California. Mix it up a little, Geeez! read more

Once a great station but now not so much. Seems like they play the same songs over and over I never was a big fan of Prince and omg I can't stand Boy George or the Culture Club. Guess it's time to find another clsssic rock radio station or go to satellite radio. read more

There's thousands of oldies and classic rock songs but they play the same songs over and over

When I lived in Santa Barbara, I could barely squeek out a signal from your wonderful station. Now that I live in the Bay Area, I just listen online....which is wonderful! Keep up the awesome job...can't wait to blast the tunes in my truck when I visit! read more

I love this station. It tends to stick to the lighter side of classic rock(so you won't be hearing Zeppelin of AC/DC) but its selection is outstanding. Quick commercial breaks and great DJs. Shotgun Tom Kelly is one of the coolest guys I've ever heard on the airwaves! This is one of the regular stations that I stream in if I'm in the mood for some easy listening classics. Great stuff! read more

All they play now is 80s pop. Motown? Surf rock? Disco? Soul? Psychedelic rock? GONE. I feel like they reduced their playlist by at least 50%. Because of this, you hear the same songs a lot. KRTH is no longer the station for oldies; I'd recommend 1260 AM. read more

There are millions of songs out there why this station chooses to play the same songs over and over and over again is beyond Like Bohemian Rhapsody followed by we are the champions all day every day. read more

1260 KSUR has a much better selection of oldies than this radio station. All you hear are the same worn out 80s songs over and over and over and OVER with zero variety and bland programming. This station is zilch when compared to the greatness and heritage this station once possessed about 25-35 years ago, in their heyday. I don't need to hear the same music by Journey and Modern English, 10 times a week! read more

Most of the negative reviews are from people who've become oldies themselves! I guess hearing the pop/rock music from their youth on KEARTH is an upsetting reminder of their age (lol). For me, though, and other young listeners, KEARTH is a great station to enjoy 70s/80s and even some 90s music! The morning show with Gary Bryan is great, too. I actually wake up early so I can listen to it! read more

I sure miss those Motown weekends with the 60's and 70's from kearth. I'm forced to listen to pandora now. :(

I grew up in So Cal and K Earth was one of our go to stations. When they stopped playing 50's music I was very disappointed but took solace in the fact that their HD channel was available, and was nothing but 50's and 60's music. Well, that station changed to Radio Disney and I'm left with the sad reality that there isn't a broadcast station in Southern California playing the classics from the 50's and 60's. The current programming is generic 80's and 90's pop. Between talk and music, i listen to quite a lot of radio, but now feel compelled to explore things like Pandora. Grrrrrrrr to you KRTH! read more

I'm not a doctor, but I have been studying psychology for a long time. Its obvious to me that Lisa Stanley has a serious case of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. She reminds me so much of Wendy Williams, in the love that she has for herself. Hey Lisa, your not nearly as cool as you think you are! Thank god for Lara Scott, who brings maturity, and respectability to a once great station. read more
