Easy to find most products in this big place, easy parking and location, I have become very familiar with the great Private Selection brand. But please, pay your employees a real wage! It is weird to see good people working hard, hear from my friends who worked for Kroger in high school, put up with rude customers, taking care of this business on the proper front face to face, and all for a cents compared to massive profits generated for the big wigs. I want to see clearance goods better labeled too and presented to ensure food waste is minimized with produce. How can anyone think labeling a basic discount on food expiring the next day is some service to customers? It grosses me out shopping here with the price gouging; the discount isles should be spread across more places as we all know these massive stores throw away crazy tons of edible food. read more

This Kroger's is the best grocery store in Peoria. There are other good grocery stores and Peoria, however this Kroger's beats them all! Excellent source for fresh fruits and vegetables, a professional bakery, hot foods ready to eat, a wide selection of lunch meat and cheeses, a butcher shop with an expert staff, a Starbucks, and a full selection of alcoholic drinks. The store is clean, and well lit. Parking is ample. The only reason I don't give this Krogers 5 stars is because it's almost 6 miles from my house. read more

5 months later and I think they hired some new and more happier employees. I stopped in there ( just out of convenience) and it seemed like a lot of new employees. More courteous and friendly. Missing meats from pick-up order. I have been shopping at this store for 6 years. Jenny at the self-check is great. Never had a problem until I tried pick up twice. Both times they left items out. Today, they left 3 meat items out of the order. Luckily, I stopped in the parking lot to recheck my order before I got home. I went into the store. Customer service person could not help me and told me I had to log into the app. I had to retrieve my password and finally showed him the receipt. He paged the pick-up staff at Kroger. No reply. Finally, they replied and told him they did not have my meat items. I told him I would recheck my trunk. I carried all my items back into the store (which, yes defeats the purpose of pickup), and he said I could go get the missing items myself. As an older person with asthma, I'm not supposed to be out and about. As I left, I drove by the pickup area and talked to 3 staff people (including the young man who put the order in my trunk). I was not accusatory. I said I thought it was an honest mistake. They simply repeated that they did not have my 3 meat items. If you do use pickup, print out your receipt before you leave home, and recheck your order before leaving the pickup area. If anything is missing, assume that you will have to fix their mistake. Very disappointing. I will need to use pickup at Hyvee from now on or risk going in the store. After all, today I not only waited for pickup in the parking lot, but had to go back into the store twice. Kroger, what's happening with your store? read more

I enjoy shopping here it's just a bit far out for many of my trips to town, but the cheese and seafood departments really stand out. In fact, this is the only Kroger in the area that you can safely buy fresh live oysters. They actually check each oyster for freshness before they throw it in the bag...one by one like they do on the east coast. Rarely do I have to throw out oysters from this store because they are sold dead or spoiled. Cannot say the same thing for the stores in East Peoria, Pekin, or Bloomington. The gal in charge here knows her stuff...she should train ALL of the stores how to know a live oyster from a dead one. Bravo and thank you! read more

This truly is a very nice Kroger: sushi bar, mediterranean salad station, fine wine and cheese selection, etc. They are always well stocked, have knowledgeable and friendly staff, and often have some fantastic food deals. I also ordered some platters from the deli as appetizers for my wedding, and they were great. Very professionally displayed and tasty! I've always liked this Krogers & all of the organic items they provide but they just topped it off with a STARBUCKS coming soon. I had actually driven about 10 blocks down the street away from Kroger's in order to get my Starbucks and driven back so I could have it while I was shopping. This is outstanding. read more

I love this Kroger! The produce is usually always fresh and it is always fully stocked. They have a huge deli with over 30 different meats and cheese to choose from. And the salads and prepared foods are always different. They also have a salad bar, which also offers hummus and a cous cous salad. The have a sushi station, a large olive bar and cheesr bar. But i think the best part of the place is the WINE section. Its HUGE! There is a refrigerated section which I noticed offers the pricier bottles. And if you're a Kroger member, you save 15% if you buy 6 bottles!!! read more

Best thing about this Krogers, Starbucks! The new addition of Starbucks made this Kroger's worth going to now. Upon entering, look to your right and you will see it. I read somewhere on here that the bathrooms were dirty so I HAD to go see for myself. I kind of wished I didn't.. The bathrooms were nasty, toilet paper scattered on the floor, and it did not look like someone has cleaned it for days. If you can't keep these areas clean, how are we to know you're keeping the back clean aka where your meat is coming from... The good thing about this place is that there are always multiple cashiers open so the lines are never long. Cashiers also seem happy, but customer service did not. I bought a scratch-off ticket and when I came up to the counter to redeem it, the lady there looked annoyed that I was even at her counter. Besides that, this is just like your typical grocery store with some markdowns every now and then. Make sure you apply for a Kroger's plus card, it is free and will save you some money over time! One thing I really dislike is putting in my PIN number. If your debit card has a chip on it, you have no way bypassing that... you will HAVE to put in your PIN number. I continue to be impressed by how many lanes they will have open when I go after work. Sometimes, EVERY lane is open!! Yes, every single one plus some self-checkouts! You can literally check out and be done in 5 minutes which is not something you can say about any other grocery store in town. They have developed a business plan by just doing the exact opposite of whatever WalMart is doing and I love it! Customer for life! read more

I used to shop here a lot when I lived in Peoria. Went back to visit and ran into Kroger to get a couple of pies/cakes. It has changed a lot! While I don't like how the store is organized, the workers were so friendly and helpful. They have people walking around with samples (yes please!) and there was beer and wine tastings (yep and yep!!). The prices are sooooo reasonable! The only thing I think they should work is to try to get some organic produce. The organic produce section was teeny tiny and that doesn't seem right. read more

My family and I love this store. In the last month I used the restroom twice the bathrooms are very dirty and the musty smell is terrible. I'm not one to complain but if the manager let's there kitchen help and meat department mop the floors and keep things maintenance like the bathrooms there is a major concern. When I moved from Michigan to Illinois, I was reluctant to shop at Kroger because all of the Kroger stores in Michigan are subpar. After this store's renovation a few years ago, I gave this store a try and I was impressed with the food selection, cleanliness, and quality of the produce. This is how all Kroger stores should be. I shopped here even though it is more expensive than the nearby Wal-Mart. I have since moved to the Chicago, which is Safeway and Jewel territory. I find that Dominick's is similar to this particular Kroger. read more

Poor management at this Kroger. Two visits in a row they overcharged on produce - this time its beans and jalepenos. Sure, it's only $2 for me. But they've probably been overcharging people on these items all day long. Then they make us wait 10 minutes to straighten it out. Their attitude? Do they apologize? No way.. "It's not my fault" says the woman at "Customer Care." Come on Kroger, it's not the customers job to fix your prices. I'm sick of being ripped off and then disrespected by these jerks. read more

I am so tired of buying fruit that turns out to be unripe. Recently (12/14/14) bought a honeydew melon and I've eaten cucumbers with better flavor. The texture was rubbery, why do they even put this out there for sale??? I'm not going to the trouble to return it to the store, etc. I'm just going to write a review from now on about any fruit that I buy that fails to please or exceeds expectations. read more
