Bought a whole Springer Mountain Chicken on 5/2 for $14. Refrigerated until roasting on 5/4. Sell by date was 5/6. When I unwrapped the chicken to put in the oven it smelled of rotten eggs so in the garbage it went. The meat at this Kroger leaves much to be desired. I used to buy good meat at Krogers Mariano's in Chicago area. Can you duplicate that business model? read more

Just returned from our 1/2 hour trip to Kroger. DO NOT GO ON FRIDAYS!! The staff is helpful & there's plenty of them...you don't have to look far! I love that they have organic options in the produce section, not many stores have that, so that's a plus. As for fridays...avoid at all cost!! We got in line for the only non-self check out open (need 2 or 3, not 1) and the little old lady behind me had no sense of personal space & kept creeping her cart up very close to my rear end! Then, when there was enough space for her to start loading her groceries, she was so excited/in a hurry/super rude that she bumped into me reaching for the bar to separate my items from hers. Oblivious...the entire world apparently revolves around her. I kept my cool, though it was hard. The checkout person noticed & said it happened regularly. People, do better! We are retired, too, so what's the rush & why be rude. Avoid fridays at Kroger like the plague!! read more

Wanted organic tomatoes. Found large no organic ones in organic section. Organic produce code should start with a 9. These didn't. Asked an attendant about it. He was very surly and arrogant. Refused to give a straight answer. Told manager about the tomatoes and attendant. Said he'd take care of it. Went back the next day. The attendant wasn't there, but the tomatoes were. In the same spot. Draw your own conclusion. The tomatoes were on sale. Check products closely for trickery sales gimmicks. read more

Never any parking available in Kroger's small lot. I would go early but the Rotisserie chicken isn't ready until 11:00 a.m. Prices way too high on everything. Organic Happy Eggs were over $11. Crazy!! Those same eggs were $6 at Walmart. read more

Shopped at many Kroger stores over the years. This one.... seems to need a little reorganizing. For the life of me, I can't understand why this store feels the need to put "healthier options" in a totally separate part of the store. Looked for my favorite Simple Truth cereal on... yes, the cereal isle. Not there. Looked for my coconut milk in... yes, the dairy section. Again, not there. I had assumed the store simply didn't carry those (and other) items I was looking for, and had decided to shop closer to home. Low and behold, one day I found them... in a completely separate section of the store! Why do this? You're bound to be losing sales. Amazing how all Kroger stores I've been to have declined in quality and service over the past few years while increasing costs. This location is one of the worst with horrible parking, narrow shopping aisles, very limited meats and produce, uninspired bakery and not enough checkout lines....ever! I have to check every item I purchase here since many times they are out of date. Some of the produce is downright nasty and is obvious, while some is nasty and you don't find out until you're home (like oranges, watermelon, etc) It's obvious that the employees think their employer is on the wrong track and complain about policies and training. I'm done shopping here. Too bad there is only one Publix in the general area (Cookeville), but I'm now more than willing to drive there for my groceries. I'd even resort to Food Lion and Walmart from now on if I have to. read more

this kroger pharmacy is the worst pharmacy i've been to. i spoke to a woman named nancy who was extremely rude. she kept harassing me in front of the other staff because of an issue on her part. the pharmacy was not answering their phones when i had to have a prescription called in. she insisted i was wrong, when i called myself and experienced the same delay. if you can go to a walgreens or cvs or independent pharmacy i would recommend doing that rather than doing your business through kroger. the pharmacy should understand they're dealing with people in pain and the attitude shouldn't be present. thanks nancy for being rude and loud so everyone could hear my business :) read more

Unfortunately, Kroger is one of the only large brand grocery store in Crossville, TN, (Food City is here as well, just not a large type of grocery store as Kroger). I can't really figure out what it is exactly, probably poor management, but this store is EXTREMELY BAD. Kroger, as a company, goes to the trouble of putting out weekly advertisements with their specials. I'd say, with some very good accuracy, that 75% of the time, the Kroger store in Crossville, TN is somehow out of the items on special. Why go to the trouble of advertising if they don't get enough to actually sell. Is it "bait and switch" or just incompetence from the people ordering. I can't count the number of times my wife and I have gone there and could not find some of the items on special, only to be told by someone in the department that "the truck hasn't come in". Really!!! From what I know, the trucking business is no longer an issue. I feel our only choice at this point is to drive a bit further to the Harriman, TN location that seem to be a totally different Kroger store. read more

They now have a mask policy but no one enforces it!! So why put it in place? The manager on duty Josh Lane said it can't be enforced. My question is why can't it? Excuse me, before entering you must have a mask. Wrong choice Kroger!! read more

I asked the checkout person to please put their mask up over their nose because I have a family member with compromised immune system. The woman said NO that she couldn't breath AND that having her mask over her mouth was enough to protect me. Kroger get your employees to comply with face masks!! read more

Its a good store with local staff..dunno what this wu wire turned into a money order nonsence was 1.5years ago. If it was a wire- where was it? That was a refund for a business lease NI MY NAME- never returned to me. Anyway not going to blame the staff for my familys associated problems. I like Kroger stores and was happy to find one close to my new home.

Terrible customer relations. They have instituted their own rules on coupon use that is ridiculous. One cashier whom I will not name insists on physically examining each coupon and matching them to items bought. If their scanners are set up correctly, this is totally unnecessary as the scanner will reject non valid coupons. I had 2 separate, different coupons for the same product, so I bought 2 of those products. She would not scan both coupons saying I could only use one. When I asked for a manager, he told me the same thing. How ridiculous?! So I could use one on one product, leave and come back and use the other on the second one? Really?! The same cashier would not scan a coupon for produce because the produce was marked down for quick sale. She treats customers like crooks. Do they have ant idea what this does to customer relationships. We have shopped Kroger for over 50 years, at various locations, and have never such poor service. Additionally we have to go over our receipt line by line, because we find so many pricing errors where discounts were not applied. read more

The worst meat department I've ever seen in any grocery store, I had to give it three stars because it does have a Starbucks inside.

When I picked up my prescriptions at the pharmacy, the lady who waited on me put my credit card down in the bag with my prescriptions. I have never had that happen to me anywhere else that I have dealt with. When I got home, I took out my two bottles of medicine and discarded the paper bag they came in, along with my credit card that I didn't know had been placed in it. It was the next day before I realized my card was missing and had to recall where I had used it last which was Krogers. I dug through my nasty trash to find the bag which contained the credit card. I was very disgusted with the way Kroger took care of my card. read more
