I truly enjoy making random stops when checking out areas that I haven't been to often (or are…read morecompletely new to me). Gull Cottage Antiques was a delightful little side quest. My husband and I both have small collections of specific Antiques, and we always hope find something new to add. The owner at Gull Cottage was very knowledgeable about her saleable collections, and she was incredibly welcoming. We all enjoyed chatting while I made a few discoveries to purchase; also there was a beautifully maintained yard, with a garden, on the property that my two girls enjoyed playing in as we shopped. Available parking is limited, but fits perfect with the quaint ambiance of the property and the shop. I know I'll stop by here again next time I'm in this area, and I can't wait to see what new items they may have.

The back is a treasure trove of a collectors dream. Whether you love owls, frogs, 4th of July, Christmas, lighthouses or Irish items like me, you'll be sure to find something. Karen has this and more set in groupings in the back room, and I always find something I love on my visits . I have her store at the top of my visitor recommended store and things to do list for family and friends to do while staying at my cottage.

He has one room dedicated to hardware and small odd parts, has a lot of porcelain/glassware, and a large number of antique doors. Also has a variety of other things. What's really fabulous is when he gets in some of the really rare, museum-quality pieces he gets that I have no idea where he gets so many of from time to time! At one point he had a magnificent 19th century oil painting portrait of a child AND had the dress the child was wearing in the portrait to sell with it! He had a magnificent collection of antique dolls he sold - 2 of which were featured on the Antique Road Show when they came to Cobo Hall in Detroit - one of the dolls was valued at $25,000-30,000. Another time he had a couple of great 19th century samplers I'd likely have bought, but he'd already sold them to a local doctor. Worth stopping if just to chat with the owner and then head across the street to this great Chinese restaurant he recommended to us that we went back to because the food was so good.

Learned…read moreabout this place over a year ago and I'm so happy I tried it because now that's the only place my family will go. Just a great guy. I love that he doesn't pressure or push people to get anything from him but when he puts it all together he makes people look so good so he knows how to make people look better than they think. He's very kind and always makes my family happy. He has very good people skills. This is the best place around Lexington that I have found and I don't believe you will find better because this is the best spot. My son loves his look every time he looks more handsome in the suits than the last time so he has many different styles. He always looks good but it always gets better and I'm always happy when my son is happy too If you don't try him you will never know. I also like that he doesn't rush us out when everything is done as well. I also noticed that he's a very patient person which is really hard to find these days. Prices are great too! Even when you call him he's the same person just too great. This kind of business is the reason people come here. People like respect which not alot of people have these days. Keep it up I hope the best for you your family and your business. I'm Chaldean and we are very hard to please but you are the greatest and we just wanted you to know that we appreciate you, your people skills and the way you interact with our children. I also like how he talks to children like they are real people not like they are below him so you will always have our business.
