Shannon insinuated this is the fault of our child. Our parent who we were next to the entire event is in ZERO photos. Shannon blamed our parent. We have families that are in zero photos. Shannon stated this is the fault of the "subjects" Our family of three (husband, wife, child) stood in front of the themed balloon backdrop at Shannon's attention and "okay". We are left with a photo of one of us looking in a midst of a sneeze. Our family of three stood next to the themed cake and we are left with an awkward overly bright and flashed photo. Shannon sat down to eat, we were gracious and respectful. We do not have any photos of traditions, we have only a couple of photos of husband and wife together or individually (the clients who sat next to each other 90% of the 3 hours event). We hired entertainment, catering, balloons, décor, band, dancer, photographer, etc., and do not have photos to put even a small album together. We only have ourselves to blame for hiring Shannon Garguilo as a photographer for our event.

Liz and Ray are very affordable and are the type of photographers who are really interested in learning what you want from your photos. They also did our engagement photos and gave us a deal on that. We love those as well! I should also note they're really talented at shooting in all different lights. We had a nighttime NYE wedding and wanted lots of pictures of the dance floor which was almost completely dark with club lights. Despite this the pictures came out BEAUTIFULLY. I have no idea how they did that but if you have an evening wedding and are worried about dark lighting these are the photographers to go with! All of our friends have been saying how our photos look straight out of the movies. They're really sweet people who were really flexible in working with us even when we had last minute requests. A friend of mine who used to work with Shea recommended him when I was looking for a wedding…read morephotographer. After browsing other photogs in the area I came to the conclusion that Shea was the nicest, quickest to respond, and had the best prices/packages. On the day of our wedding the weather was terrible, but Shea (and his wife/assistant, Victoria) were both very understanding of my mood swings. Shea also had no problem braving the weather to get some creative pictures. Looking back on the hundreds of photos that he took I am so thankful that he was there to document everything because there were so many things that I overlooked on that busy day! Thanks to him they will forever be preserved. Sidenote, Shea provided me with a USB of all of our pictures with two folders - high resolution images and social media images. Shea is a really nice guy and a less than stellar review is probably not what he's looking for. On the other hand, there are things I wish I would have known before we booked him. First: Shea is a nice guy. He is laid back and will not be intrusive on your wedding day. Second: His pictures are really beautiful. I felt like he shot everyone so they looked their best. In fact, I thought everyone looked so great that I printed out the best pictures of everyone (cousins on the dance floor, friends chatting in the cocktail hour, different people posing, ect) and sent them to them. The pictures are really beautiful and he did a wonderful job. Third: We did not get our pictures until 6 months after our wedding, after being promised them 3 months after our wedding. It took some serious follow up to get a response and then to get the pictures. I understand there was an issue with Shea getting the 2nd shooter's photos due to unforeseen personal issues. I completely understand that things come up and deadlines need to be pushed back, but the lack of communication was really frustrating. There was a period of time where I was afraid I wouldn't get my wedding photos. Fourth: Shea requires full payment up front. Shea was the only wedding vendor who required this. When we were waiting on the photos and not getting a response from Shea until multiple e-mails were sent, I really regretted agreeing to pay the entire fee upfront. I would think a deposit, then a portion due the week of the wedding and then the balance due when the pictures are received would be more reasonable. It just made me feel foolish and taken advantage of. Of course, we did ultimately get all our wedding photos and they were beautiful. But the full payment upfront created such an imbalance of power and lack of leverage that it made me really uncomfortable. I would never agree to full payment up front again. Shea's work is really beautiful and I am so happy with the photos. Unfortunately, the customer service side of his business could be improved.

Both her and her second shooter were amazing! Not only was she the photographer for the wedding but she also created the entire timeline and kept everyone right on track. What impressed me the most was the professionalism of the studio across the board - working with the owner on the timeline, working with the photographers each day, and the speed of the final deliverables. The studio even made some adjustments on a group photo to remove some items and enhance it. Prior to the start, the owner created a very detailed timeline of the event for each photographer and a group text to keep everyone informed of any changes or to handle any issues. The photographers themselves were great! They were not obtrusive, quick to respond and did a great job capturing the spirit of the event across the 3 days. I was recently asked to provide a review for J & J Studios, nearly five years after working with…read morethem. I had avoided doing so because I understand how hard it can be for small businesses, especially in the wedding industry, and I do not leave negative reviews lightly. That said, the request brought the experience back, and I feel it is worth sharing for other couples. We originally booked J & J Studios during lockdown in 2020 for our April 2022 wedding. In January 2022, after I received a serious medical diagnosis, my husband and I had to postpone our wedding to October. Our venue and every other vendor worked with us, requested reasonable documentation, and did not require additional payment. J & J handled things differently. We were told we would need to pay a new deposit to hold the new date, plus an additional fee because they were unlikely to rebook our original date. We were told that if they did book it, the extra cost would be refunded. With significant medical bills at the time, that added cost was not feasible. For context, about two months after we postponed, I had a friend inquire about our original April date, and she was told it was booked. I wish the experience had been different. We were willing to meet them in the middle as far as the additional payment given the circumstances but they felt they could not at the time. I understand that businesses have policies, but during an already difficult and emotional time, we were left feeling unsupported.

Denis is a very responsive communicator, which is important to us. He is easy to talk to and gave valuable suggestions on how to best maximize his services. Denis specializes in journalistic photography, which is exactly what we were looking for. We had some posed shots, but the majority is natural. The results were stunning, far exceeded our expectations - the pictures were natural and captured the essence of the day without heavy Photoshop editing. In addition, Denis has a way of taking shots that are unique in its perspective - very different from the samples we've seen from other photographers. This unique lens may be due to his work in sports photography. Either way, my husband and I are extremely happy with Denis' work. We could not have asked for a better photographer. We booked Denis about 11 months ahead of time for our 9/9/17 wedding, along with an engagement…read moreshoot that we planned to schedule in the Spring of '17 when the weather was warmer (we signed the contract on 10/31/16). Three days after we booked him, I found out I had stage 3 cancer and would have to go through chemo, surgery, and radiation during the year leading up to our wedding. Since I already had my dress, we decided to scramble and pull together a wedding photoshoot so that we could have pictures before who-knows-what happened. So, we had the good fortune to have Denis take our wedding photos twice! Denis made himself available on a Sunday with only 2 weeks' notice to take our pre-chemo photos. He wore several layers of clothes so we could take pictures in the park on a 40 degree day in November. We were shivering, but the images were gorgeous. Denis plays with reflections, and depth, and light resulting in magazine-worthy shots. Leading up to the wedding day, he was communicative. We had a shot list and timeline worked out ahead of time, which he tailored for us to make sure we got maximum party time, instead of spending the entire cocktail hour taking photos. His style is so natural. The photos are gorgeous. A good mix of those beautiful, perfect, frame-ready shots, and candidly capturing moments throughout the day. He went above and beyond to get "that" shot. He's truly an artist, but also incredibly professional and caring. We couldn't be happier with him and his work.
