Lots of clothing, books, furniture and more. It is great! I love this place especially for the clothing. Everything is very well sorted and their really are many treasures to find. The clothing department really feels like a hip city vintage shop but with better prices! I think they really decorated this place very well! Except the furniture department. Which is on the top floor. This department isn't very organized and prices are quite high. Also the stuff isn't that great. What I also like about this place are the spacious and nicely decorated fitting rooms. I also like that they have a café! With quite a lot of seats. It's very cheap and you can have a coffee with a piece of apple pie here! Nice :)

I visited this shop today fifteen minutes before closing. My husband and I asked if they were still…read moreopen, and the girl at the counter let us know that they were, for fifteen more minutes. We were 100 percent clear when the shop would be closing. I found a few cute, decently priced things to try on amidst the overcrowded racks, and proceeded to the dressing "rooms," whose curtains always leave an embarrassing gap (which could easily and cheaply be remedied by a clip, hook, or velcro). Since I still had several minutes before closing, I tried them on. With five minutes to close, the girl at the counter shouted out a loud announcement that they would be closing soon. Since I was only feet away from the desk, I could hear this quite clearly. However, another sales assistant felt the need directly after this to come over, stand outside of my poorly closed curtains, and shout loudly that if I wanted to pay I needed to do it now. Still shirtless, I said that I was getting my clothes on. I didn't realize that I would be required to respond from the dressing room to the girl at the counter. If they plan on closing at 4:55, they should put that on their door. The other option would be to let us know when we walked in and asked about the closing time that they would be closing early. I would definitely have bought all three items that I found had I not experienced this rude, unnecessary and unprofessional behavior. I considered going back in and saying something about it, but instead, I will refrain from giving them my business and recommend that you hop over to some of the many superiorly curated and more decently priced shops in Utrecht. This one is a pass for me.

Zeer onvriendelijke en onprofessionele behandeling bij Rataplan Westpoort…read more Tijdens ons recente bezoek aan Rataplan Westpoort in Amsterdam zijn mijn man en ik helaas op een zeer onprettige manier behandeld door de mevrouw achter de balie. De betreffende medewerkster reageerde zichtbaar onbeschoft, maakte nare gezichten en toonde op geen enkele manier klantvriendelijkheid. Deze houding zorgde ervoor dat wij ons totaal niet welkom voelden in de winkel. Een dergelijke benadering past niet bij een organisatie waar je als klant met respect en fatsoen geholpen zou moeten worden. Wij vonden deze ervaring dermate vervelend dat wij hebben besloten hier in de toekomst niet meer terug te komen. Het is jammer dat één medewerker het complete winkelbezoek kan verpesten. Wij hopen dat Rataplan deze feedback serieus neemt en haar personeel beter instrueert op het gebied van klantvriendelijkheid en professioneel gedrag.

But apart from that crowning, this place is fabulous! 3 floors of second hand goods that are neatly laid out and labeled and in excellent conditions! The first floor is amazing pieces of all kinds of furniture and also a huge selection of books that unfortunately, were mostly in Dutch. The second floor is garments and accessories, which run the gamut from shoes to belts to hats. Finally, the 3rd floor, which is my fave had kitchenware and decorating Knick-knacks included vases and just all sorts of electronics too! So before going to IKEA, come and check this place out and be prepared to be surprised by the affordability as well as just the cool selection of stuff you can recycle and reuse, rather than buying new! I use the word shocking because thrift and/or independent clothing stores typically do not stock for sizes 10 and up. This one does, and the stock is awesome and friendly for twenty-somethings - what a sweet surprise! The clothing prices are a fair, and shoes are affordable. I picked up an immaculate pair of Birkenstocks for 17 euro. All in all, this is a model shop and I wish every city had one like it. More sizes, more positivity, more authenticity.
