He encourages team members there with his enthusiasm for the business. He and others are knowledgable about their products. They offer adoptions of cats there. Pet Supplies Plus hosted goat-yoga at least once - I couldnt go but I hope if they do it again that I can! I love that place. The only thing I didnt care for - the self serve pet wash- was very clean and inviting and I used it several times- but the water is too cool and the dryers also are cold-air dryers. Im sure this is a liability-things but after taking a room temperature bath- cool air left my small dog shivering. My big dogs were fine with it. Im not sure there is much they can do about cool/cold wash/dry experience. But the store itself is very clean. Staff is knowledgable. They seem to host and encourage public help- like doing food drives for the community pet-pantry and suggesting adoptions. I know they also were one of the sponsors of a vaccination day held at the local shelter. So- I do feel pretty good supporting a chain store- because if their wonderful staff and community outreach.

Jayce was Abby's groomer. He was absolutely incredible! Her haircut is PERFECT! He was very professional but super personable at the same time. He made me feel like Abby was in great hands! I got a call about an hour tops after I dropped her off so it was nice to know she was taken care of immediately instead of sitting in a cage for hours. Unfortunately, I couldn't pick her up right away as I was out running an errand but I knew she was in great care so wasn't worried. Anyway, I can't say enough positive things about Jayce. See him if you can! We all love out furry kids and want the best for them and I assure you, Jayce is the best! Side note, he is in Michigan City temporarily while the MC groomer is out. Jayce is out of Merrillville, but..... HE IS WORTH THE DRIVE!!! :) Also, Abby is a yorkie so she got the short yorkie cut. She's super adorable, but that haircut is the icing on the cake!

She proceeded to come up to me and tell me how she "wants to be informed" but then was very rude to me and basically told me I was wrong. It was a private conversation with my boyfriend, as I have guinea pigs so it made me sad seeing their lack of hay, plastic hides, no companion and no toys. It was highly inappropriate.

I left the office emotionally exhausted numerous times after having to "push back" against the…read morevets' numerous expensive suggestions. One vet said my dog's blood pressure ($50 per reading) was high and needed to be checked frequently while another vet said it was high normal but the dog was anxious which explained the elevation. Another vet tried to give me nausea medicine ($64) when I told her the medicine had not worked for him in the past. Another vet wanted to treat my dog for worms without waiting for the stool test results -which were normal. Another vet wanted to take frequent blood tests ($300) for a condition I was not going to treat. Be aware that there is a pharmacy charge if you choose to get a medicine for your pet and decide after your visit. I have since found a more reasonably priced veterinarian who makes suggestions but listens to how I choose to care for my pet. The vets here are competent but they pushed a lot of unnecessary tests/medicines. Be aware.
