People have asked many times, where should I buy all the Indian spices and fresh herbs like…read morecoriander and mint from? I am quite surprised to see no one has the idea of a lovely indian grocery store keeps different Indian vegetables, variety of all the spices, curry pastes, Indian Paneer , variety of poppadums...Hmm yummy and lot more to explore. As an Indian chef, I would like to highly recommend this store where I buy all my groceries from. Those who love to cook curry and try indian cuisine, this is a best place to buy the ingredients at so reasonable cost. Fresh coriander leaves or mint will cost 70 cents a bunch. Yess crazy isn't it? Normally if you go a regular store like Rewe, Edeka etc. a few sprigs bunch will cost u around 3€. If you are experimenting with the Indian food and don't want to buy the 1/2 kg packets of spices, here is the deal. You can buy all variety of small packets of spices for about 1.50€ each. Isn't that great! Ambience is so nice. Right in the city center and accessible through public transport tram no 20, 21 and get down at Karlstrasse. Just 50 meters from there. Right opposite Kare( furnishing store). Try it and keep loving and cooking indian cuisines ;-)

Discovered this shop on the internet and it felt like they had a lot of choices for English made…read morefood product so decided to check it out. Well this shop has it all and owned by a couple, he is British and she is German. They started the shop four years ago as they were struggling to find British products in Munich. The selection is extensive and they have much more food items that the other shop in Haidhausen called Pommeroy. The shop is also well laid out and the choices are plenty. Everything from cereal to marmite and Cadbury chocolates, you can find here. They have various items you need to make a classic British meal and roast dinner from gravy, oxo cubes, stuffing and so on. They also have a wide range of biscuits and crackers and a whole lot of British drinks and cordials. They have a selection of British souvenirs and tea sets and a good selection of British teas. Definitely the place to go for classic British groceries. The prices are not bad (more expensive than the uk) and it's not far out of the city centre. Worth a trip to this shop. I am sure I will be back again plenty of times in the future :-)

This is the largest Asian market I have seen/been to in Munich…read more I have found basically everything I need for creating (almost) any Asian-inspiried dish! The produce is reasonably priced, and they sell things from galanga root to celery, to tomatoes, carrots, onions - you name it. The shelves are fully stocked with products, and their selection of sauces makes my eyes get as wide as saucers. Their frozen food section is also pretty impressive - but I would also say relatively standard for Asian markets in the area. Not only do they sell Asian groceries, but magazines and things of that nature. I'm not too sure about the types or quality of the magazines as I am not Asian, nor do I read any type of Asian languages. Rosenheimerplatz is like a mecca of Asian shops and eateries. If you're looking for a one stop-shop for Asian groceries, Orient Shop is the place t be!
