The oven dish kept the food hot for the entire meal. Not only was it hot, it was hot! Spicy hot! Awesome! So often, Mexican food is not spicy enough in my opinion but this one hit the mark. Long story in English: I have yet to find a good Mexican place in Switzerland - partly because food here isn't easy on the wallet, so trying new things is always a gamble. I recently went to Tres Amigos with my family, and we shared the chips and guacamole, nachos, and two plates of fajitas: one Pechuga de Pollo, and the other Camarones. The guacamole was delicious and we polished it off quickly. I'm not a nachos (or cheese, really) person, so I can't give a verdict on the nachos, but my family liked them. The fajitas themselves were served on a hot plate and were not bad... but when you roll food up and add guacamole and beans, it all starts to taste the same. ;) We did have some leftover chicken (from the Pechuga de Pollo), so I got to try that without the whole fajita, and was quite disappointed with the taste. It didn't seem to taste like anything in particular. Overall, it was an okay experience - the service was really great (they even had live music) and the food was okay, but I've definitely had better Mexican. Maybe I should just try something else if I go there again.

Wow, what a surprise! Driving back from Austria, we were…read morehungry and drove off the autoroute to discover the tiny town of Wil and this amazing restaurant L'Olivier. The restaurant is in a traditional Swiss Gast Haus style of building, but upon entering you are transported to an exotic land, fragrant and softly lit not like a Swiss restaurant, but like arriving in an Oriental land. A family business, the Chef welcomed us from the terrace and confirmed the free parking in his lot. Speaking French, Swiss German, German and English to us table side, we were welcomed and a delicious bean appetizer arrived. The son is the server and made us feel at home. The wife, husband and son really make this an experience that is unique. The meal was Tunisian Chicken and it was accompanied by warm humus cakes, simple yet probably one of my most favorite meals in Switzerland. As we departed, we sprinkled ourselves with rose water, a wonderful scent of a most memorable meal in an unexpected town, Wil. I highly recommend L'Olivier!

Was served almost immediately, so A+ for service, which remained pretty attentive throughout the evening. Interior is typical of your Swiss "American roadhouse" style diners, with lots of pictures of famous people on the wall. Nice ambience, though. I was pretty bummed that I couldn't have the burger with a bacon and a sunny-side-up egg (don't remember the name of the burger), as it was available only from Mondays-Wednesdays. Ah, well, next time! Anyway, I did order the Venice Beach (coleslaw, onions, bacon) - and I have to admit, I've never, ever thought of putting coleslaw into my burger, but it works well! Their coleslaw is also pretty good, which is worth a mention because most places can't make it right. The burger itself was not bad, though I found the bun to be a little much and took away from the taste of the burger itself. Had onion rings (really good) and garlic dip (good too), but what's really worth a mention are the sweet potato fries - which were absolutely fantabulous. They were a little thicker than I was used to, but were somehow perfectly crispy and tasted so good! To top off the evening, I tried some of the American cheesecake, which at CHF 8,50 is pretty steep, but oh my god, I have never had better cheesecake in this country! It's a little lighter than your actual American cheesecake, but this isn't a bad thing. The texture, consistency, and taste were still there. The graham cracker crust was a little more mushy and grainy than what I'm used to, but now I'm just nitpicking. All in all, would definitely recommend.
