I was eager to try Freedom Family Healthcare because of recommendations from other women going…read morethrough perimenopause. My first appointment went fairly well, although the saliva test that they sent home with me was $180 out of pocket, not billed to my insurance and there was no reason given as to why. But I bought the test, did it the next morning and mailed it in. On my next appointment, they had the results and I was given a paper from the lab with my results, which I appreciate. When she handed me the results page, she also handed me a basket with 3 bottle of medicine and told me that I would be taking one of one bottle per night and two of the other bottle at night time as well. I asked if we were going to go over the results and what the medications were and she said yes. She sat by me on the other chair and, with her finger pointed at the results and said, this is low and this is high, so on. There was no explanation as to why they were like that or what it would cause. I asked her, since I have artificial heart valves and am taking a blood thinner, if there was any drug interactions or would it cause a difference in the thickness of my blood. She said, do you do a "Coumadin check?" I asked if she meant a PT-INR, which is a blood thickness test, and she said yes. She said, well since you have that test done regularly it will be ok to take these medications. I looked at the medicines and looked up to see if I could take them with my heart issues and every one of them say to ABSOLUTELY NOT take if I have blood clotting to worry about, like with artificial heart valves. I was skeptical to schedule an appointment with them because I do have such a complicated health history. But the NP did not look at my history or drug interactions before I asked her if there would be an issue. She didn't remember that I had artificial heart valves. She didn't know what a blood thickness test was called, which I would not normally expect someone to, but she pushed those medications upon me too quick to not have checked my history before hand. I would not recommend this place to anyone, but especially not to those women who have underlying health conditions. They do not seem to do research before pushing highly expensive medications, albeit supplements or natural (which are not always safe for everyone). Thankfully I know my conditions and know to ask, while also knowing how to look and see what is safe for me to take. I know they are not well versed in every condition and medication that is out there, but before just handing someone medicine and say take this, have a little knowledge about what it does and if it is safe for that particular patient.

I hate to post negative comments but this business is awful and unethical! You can hear everything…read morethrough the walls! I heard them saying nasty things about people of Indian descent and mean things about gay people. They play "Christian" music and have Bible verses on the walls but maybe they should look inwards because it seems pretty hypocritical and judgmental to me! It also took forever to get a call back about my lab results. When I did finally get a call back two weeks later the nurse Ken had such a bad attitude and couldn't answer my questions. They are very unorganized probably from being short staffed because no one wants to work around all their hatefulness!

I am generally seen very close to my appointment time unless the patient before me takes longer. As for there not being a bathroom! My word there r two available for patients, so I don't know why anyone would say there was no bathroom! I continue to see him he is a wonderful man and takes very good care of me! He diagnosed me with my diabetes and treats my entire family. Recently he spent time sending me to specialists because I was having some new health issues; I now have MS. I started having surgeries when I was1 and again age 10, leg surgeries. 2007 left total knee replacement, 2012, below the Knee Amputation. I have a partial bionic neck and two partial bionic legs. We moved to West Virginia to be closer to my parents who are both 86. Mom was going to Dr Mauzy Pronounced; ( Mau- Zee ) . I decided I would also, since I drive her everywhere. He is not as outgoing, and forceful as my Florida Drs. I still liked him. Now after 2 years, I'm not sorry. He is caring, and he listens. His staff think the world of him. I'm thankful to call Dr Mauzy, my family Dr. I had Been sick for a little over a year. Symptoms same as my stomach cancer. The cancer was at the top of my stomach and It was affecting my Esophagus. Same symptoms, getting much worse. Dr. Mauzy sent me for a HIDA scan. Same test as I had in Florida for my cancer. In Florida I was given the HIDA TEST completely different. A HIDA scan. In this test, a radioactive material called hydroxy iminodiacetic acid (HIDA) is injected into the patient. The radioactive material is taken up by the gallbladder to measure gallbladder emptying function. This test also is referred to as cholescintigraphy. Well...... I did not hear from the Drs office, ( I know they are very busy) I called. I was told my Gall Bladder was completely Dead. It came out several days later. Dr Mauzy and I are going for another round, I went to see him June 19, 2018. He sent sent me to the lab in the same building to have blood work. Wow!! 8 vials , I know he is checking for Thyroid, and also Celiac disease. The other vials well he is thorough. Drs are Human, I am thankful he listens, he cares, and he will do what it takes to see why you are feeling you do. Hypochondriacs ? I'm not sure. I'm not being mean, I know one. Insurance got the point, they were not going to pay for her Ambulance, nor 80% of her unnecessary medical. If you do not have a Dr. ... Dr Mauzy and his staff, are the some of the very best.
