1/5 -- Repeated Billing Problems…read more I was a patient of Dr. Akhil Gupta at Skin Center of Florida and stopped seeing him in October 2025, largely because of my repeated frustration with the practice's billing. My experience was that I would pay what I was asked to pay, frequently in advance, and on more than one occasion I believed my account was fully paid, only to later be told that I owed additional money. On one previous occasion, I challenged a bill and the charge was subsequently removed. The latest incident happened approximately ten months after I stopped seeing Dr. Gupta. I received a call regarding an outstanding pathology bill. When I called Dr. Gupta's office and asked which visit the charge related to, the office could not identify the specific visit and instead gave me three possible dates: June 5, 2024, September 15, 2025, and October 1, 2025. I then had to track the matter down myself. Global Pathology/Sonic Healthcare's Miami office was ultimately able to identify records associated with the two 2025 dates and directed me to CCS regarding a balance of $183.62. I negotiated a 15% reduction and paid $156.08 to resolve that account in full. To be clear, my complaint is not that this final pathology balance was necessarily improper. My complaint is the repeated billing confusion I experienced and the amount of work required to determine what I was supposedly being billed for. Patients should be able to receive a clear accounting showing the date of service, insurance adjustments, payments and credits, and the actual amount owed. In my experience, getting those answers was unnecessarily difficult. After repeated billing problems, I finally decided I had had enough and stopped using the practice. Based on my personal experience with its billing and administration, I would not return and cannot recommend this practice.

MY experience was very bad and I am left with permant scars on my eyelids. A simple BLETHO turned…read moreinto multiple surgeries because he " forgot" to take out fat deposits and one lid drooped after recovery. A second surgery split open that night and I had an ER of three stitches to close it leaving a scar. My eyelids are laced with "suture cysts" He SENT me to Ocular Surgeon after two rounds of laser. My lids are " burned" on top of this. I am heading to Ocular to remove cysts and getting push back by Lickstein to pay. This is MY FACE not something I can hide. May 26 was two years of this. Second Surgery Oct 25. Told would go away. This September WERE NOW IN 2026.....Ocular can remove but he's saying it's my problem. Perhaps the silicone reacted BUT THESE WERE HIS PRESCRIPTIONS BOTH TIMES. The cysts 6 along my lids, the acre pre lent nd the lids raw burnt red. He is not a person to go to for this.

That being said, I had a CO2 laser resurfacing done in early/mid march. It was a lot to go through, I had to hibernate for over two weeks and my faces looked very scary. It was VERY swollen and deformed. I did know what I was getting into, and I still wanted to do it. Anyway it really worked well on my under eye and cheeks. However, I did not see much change in my under nose and chin area, which is what I was mainly concerned about. So I'm very disappointed. Since the co2 laser resurfacing, I've also had to do sculptra, form ( which are both fillers) and Botox. It still doesn't look how I would like. I need more filler to disguise the wrinkles. Any way after 4k for the resurfacing, and another 1,200 for sculptra and Botox which was after the co2 resurfacing, I'm still not seeing results. So, maybe my wrinkles were too deep. I don't know why but so far nothing is really working. Yes I see a small difference, but for $5,200, I expected better results. I suppose I need a facelift. Should have saved my money. Also I did ask dr. Schroeder if she could just do that area again with the 1/2 strength c02 laxer, but she told me it would be another $1,500. I was really hoping she would do it for free, but no! Like I said she's very sweet, great bedside manner, beautiful place. I'm just not happy with my results.

He was always neat looking like a doctor should along with the office being very clean and orderly. I never commented on his excellent service but now after trying at least five other dermatologists that fail to give you a proper examination that I am accustomed to. Instead, he recommended a cream that clearly states it should not be used on the face. After two months of using it with no improvement, I called back, only to be told I would need to come in again -- possibly for an injection -- instead of simply being prescribed a more appropriate treatment. To make matters worse, his medical assistant admitted the cream I had been using should never have been applied to my face.. she also told me my chart did not show I came in for a facial issue. I was then prescribed a new cream that cost $300 and had to be picked up at a specific pharmacy in Delray Beach and shipped there first adding even more delay and frustration. This wasn't just my experience -- he treated my daughter the same way. I honestly don't understand how this doctor has such high reviews. If you're looking for help with skin issues, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. DO NOT GO HERE!
