This was literally the first place my wife and I ever stepped foot into in the city of Denver. We…read morewere pulling into town for a fair convention downtown and our Airbnb host said they would meet us in just over an hour. That gave us plenty of time to locate and stop into a BAM - something which we love to do whenever we are on the road. We have been to several in Utah, Arizona, California, and Nevada before visiting this location. I had already checked out their social media accounts before we even left Arizona for the road. Terrific Instagram profile and activity. I had bookmarked this particular store because they really seemed like a family business. Several employees had December birthdays and the day we arrived they had some decorations up and were offering customers cake. I think they even said they had some ice cream available. Nice touch. Both employees we spoke with were super friendly and helpful. We took most of our time digging through their bulk bins which were full of loose Lego goodness. We looked around at their cases full of minifigs and my wife grabbed a few small animals and misc. Lego pieces. We also looked around the store at their prebuilt sets and boxed sets. Nicely laid out store and full of great Lego items. We took turns quickly using their bathroom to wash our hands from going through the bulk. We had a little discussion about birthdays. I believe the woman's birthday was one of those being celebrated and the man's birthday was July 4th. Fantastic visit. We will most definitely be back the next time we are in Denver. Highly recommend.

Really? Not a single review? DCG has been at this location for almost a year now and it usually…read morepretty busy with a very loyal fan base so I'm shocked to be the first. FIRST! Now that I've gotten that out of my system... Full disclosure: I am biased. My partner Sean is the store manager and we are very good friends with the owner Phil. That being said, I've been to many a game store and I will be as object as possible with this review. DCG was formerly Troll Country Games at Hampden and I-25 but went under new ownership and moved to its current location shortly thereafter. The old location was in the basement of an office building, so the move to an actual retail space was a big improvement. Unlike many of the game stores around town that focus on selling food or retailing, DCG is set up to be a place for the gamer community to gather and spend time together. There's a small retail area that takes up about 1/3 of the total space and the rest of the store is tables with gamers playing miniatures, specialty board games, and of course Magic the Gathering, which is the biggest draw for the store and their primary focus. The first thing you'll notice when you go to DCG is that it is "no frills" - there are minimal decorations, the walls are white, and the tables and chairs are of the plastic fold up variety. That's about the only negative thing you can say about DCG. The selection of board games, cards, and miniatures is very good and they are happy to special order anything not in stock or keep their eye out for the card you are looking for. The staff are all incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and will not just make you feel like a valued customer but like a friend, a part of the community. I like to think of DCG as a "secular church" of sorts - a place where like minded people can to come together and stay as long as they want. DCG does TONS of in-store events and tournaments and encourages people to stay for hours on end. They've got a good selection of drinks and snacks that are cheap - $1-2 - and if you need something more substantial there's a new Arch Pizza that opened next door. If you're looking for a game store in your area that you can spend time at, make friends, and feel welcome, this is the place to be.

Which makes sense why the shop, aside from the people behind the counter, is COMPLETELY empty. Their prices are double what you can get product for almost anywhere else. I would highly recommend you make the extra drive to Mythic or MEH.
