The function room is mainly used during the winter for comedy nights on Saturday called BearCat. If you look to the high ceiling in the main bar you'll see a selection of rugby tickets stuck to it. I have heard that if you can stick you ticket up there, you get a free pint (though this might be wrong). Has a selection of Real Ales and the usual lager choices. Shows sports of all kinds, however it's mainly a Rugby pub, so in a sport clash the rugger will win. A good selection of food and a brilliant beer garden. All in all, a pretty darn fine place!

And as recently as a month ago. The food is excellent and PLENTIFUL. My friend and his son had enough food between them to feed two more people. On the walls of the pub are publicity photos fron the Beatles A hard Days Night Movie. Also, dont take any notice of the review above, saying dont eat at the Turks Head pub. We have eaten there at least 5 times. We have no complaints.

She got the Treacle Tart with custard on the side and I got the Cinnamon & Caramel Cake with ice cream on the side. My colleague also got a Chicken, chorizo & bacon club sandwich. Oh my, where should I start? For one, when we walked in during lunch time (1:00ish), the whole place was empty (red flag!). Colleague's sandwich came. No chorizo, two thin slices of transparent bacon and get this...a chicken nugget right smack in the middle of the sandwich that was cut in half. I wish I had taken pictures. It was the saddest sandwich we have ever seen. The custard that came with Treacle Tart came from one of those "instant custard mixes" you get from the store while the tart itself was bland. The worst part was my Cinnamon & Caramel Cake - it was basically a super stale American cinnamon roll, heavily drizzled with sweet melted frosting (maybe an attempt to conceal the stale taste?) and a side of vanilla ice cream that had a super strong smell of being in the meat freezer. Service was non-existent. No one checked in on us after the food was plopped down. This is really sad because the interior looked super cozy and the exterior looked nice. A great example of not to judge a place by how it looks like!

I went with a large group of people at lunch and the place is dead - I would imagine it's is busy in the evenings and weekends. The place is open and light with wooden floors a collection of shabby chic furniture. I had a fish finger sandwich - it was listed as something different in the menu (we are in Twickenham after all). It was really good, a very generous portion plus the chips were chunky with the skins left on. I wouldn't make a special effort to visit here unless you are in the area, in which case makes a change from Pizza Express and the other generic restaurant on the high street.

From what they offered, there was a superb choice of food and certainly more than enough to satisfy the toughest eater. Food was served to our group and what appeared was a total delight. Portions were exceedingly generous, arrived looking extremely inviting and tasted superb. Staff are brilliant and could not have done more to assist, or make our evening more enjoyable. I returned yesterday (Wednesday, May 03), to attend lunch with two friends. Our meal was equally excellent and once again the service was spot on. I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to anyone and I will be returning here again and again, without question.

Our reservation was for 3pm and a few of us got there early so we grabbed a drink at the bar whilst they prepped our table (they do a couple of sound local ales so some of us went for those). The bar was busy, but not cramped, though very family-friendly, so if you're intent on a quiet pint with no kids acting up, this is probably not the place to go for Sunday lunch! When we'd all arrived we were taken through to the annex where we had a huge long table with plenty of room. The room was gorgeous, with chandeliers and a huge open fire crackling away. The menu was pretty substantial and we all ordered something different, deciding on a two course (main and dessert) option, but you could stretch to three if your budget and stomach capacity allows. The food was very good indeed (see photos). Service was efficient and friendly, they really do have excellent staff there. We stayed for nearly four hours which is testament to how much we liked it in there. Tip: The Crown has a car park but it's small and awkward, so it'd be best to either get there early to secure a spot or try and circle round the residential side streets for a space. otherwise
