Dr. Atkinson really messed up my medical and psychological well being. I'd certainly look elsewhere for medical and psychiatric help.

Turned out I had thyroid issues & needed medication, very low Vitamin D, very low B12, etc. after she knew what all was going on with me. She changed my medication & also called me with lab results so i could go to Primary Dr to get other issues taken care of for those medications. Best Doctor I've ever had. She listened & she helped me tremendously. She is the best. Her office is small & her staff is top notch. I highly recommend.

Finding a good psychiatrist or psychopharmacologist is tough and they are invaluable when you do…read morefind one. Hunting and pecking my way through DFW was a pain. My headache neurologist is debatable the best in the US, and does not suffer fools, so I had to find psychopharmacologist that I could pair with her. First, her NP actually knew who Dr Health which was a huge boon, because she had worked with this doctor before. This was a huge time saver and cut my search down tremendously. My meds had been off, I had lived in NYC for 7 years and had the same psychiatrist...but I made the mistake thinking that a really smart GP could coordinate my meds. This is not an error I will EVER make, again. I needed I good psychopharmacologist to rebalance everything. I suffered a TBI when I was nearly killed in a hate crime causing quite a few medical problems and I needed a number of specialists after the assault. The lynchpin to making everything work was a fantastic psychiatrist who worked as a psychopharmacologist. I've been fine for four years since I went under her care. Before that I was a hot mess, because not all doctors are equal with an RX pad and being a good psychiatrist requires a ton of working knowledge of gobs of medications and how they interact with different meds and people (I'm resistant to many meds and don't metabolize most meds the way most patients do she was the first to catch this and give me a genetic test). If she hadn't, I'd still be a Ginny pig. I've paid for the smartest doctors I could find to work in tangent with each other. Dr Heath was my missing link back to a normal life. Prior to my head injury I was a top PhD student and national award winning playwright (specializing in Aristotelean Structuralism). After the assault I was in horrific pain and unable to control my anger and slightly mentally challenged. This was caused by brain damage, and though my brain did rewire itself, it needed help. I had no quality of life. Comparatively, I have a fantastic one now. I just finished a 2nd Master's and a killer play...this is what a you get when you invest in the best doctors. It's not instant. It took her 4 months; however, others couldn't do it at all. I want Dr. House, only smarter and non-fictional. She's not cold, she's professional. So, do you want a doctor that can fix you and is professional...go here. I think the answer to the question is, "Am I better, and she fix what was wrong when no one else could?" "Yes." I sent a friend here a couple of years ago who had become non-functional in society after she was assaulted at work. She had similar results. She and her family are thrilled with the results, or so she told me. So, I'm not the only one happy to have my life back. So, I would highly recommend this doctor. You spend your money where you like, but I'm results oriented.

After calling and leaving messages for over a month, in desperation I had my wife drive me to the office to try and set an appointment. Upon arrival I went into the office, adorned by some really interesting art, almost like an art gallery. I love art and was impressed, but that was short live after noticing one woman waiting in the waiting area, while a loud woman(I guess a secretary)was talking loudly to a patient on the phone that was trying to explain to her that they needed a refill. (Unfotunately I heard quite a bit) She continued to cut the person on the phone off, telling them she couldn't help them and they needed to come in and see the Dr. Fair enough. As soon as she got off the phone, before saying or asking much of anything, she informed me that they were "cash only" and "didn't accept insurance". First of all, I have just lost my mom a year ago and my younger brother a few months ago, so I am already in a really dark place, but instead of telling me about the services, setting up an appointment to let me speak to the dr, this cold hearted witch goes right into telling me how they don't take any insurance and giving me the prices per visit, including the visit to see if they can even help me. Being desperate and depressed I just kept asking her when I could get an appointment. She followed everything up with telling me the cost (I guess I looked like I couldn't afford it) after 10 minutes of her telling me their ridiculous prices, we left. It was a shock to meet someone that deals with mental health act like that. Far from professional, but clear about what is most important to these crooks. Save your time, and money and look ANYWHERE else. The ONLY thing this place is interested in is $$. Not in helping the patient. BTW, I was well aware that they might not take my insurance, but having this woman shove that down my throat instead of showing any empathy, concern, or just caring, was enough for me. I dont do many reviews, but this bothered me so much, I felt obligated to warn others. Good luck, and help is out there. Just don't waste your time and end up in a worse mental state by going by here, and go somewhere that actually cares more about their patients, then their exotic art and money.

Dixie refuses to do her job, I wonder if it's to collect more money from us than our insurance will pay? I see it is a pattern that she causes issues for clients based on other reviews. My partner is the client, but I'm going in circles with her and my insurance for over a year now because she just "doesn't have time" to do "paper forms" which is not remotely accurate to how this works. Penny's responses here are defensive, unhelpful, and uncooperative. I've never dealt with such incompetent office staff or such an unkind overseeing individual like Penny Haight. I can only hope my partner will stop seeing his under trained provider at this location. I have a meeting with care team supervisors with my insurance for them to figure out why Dixie is violating Aetna's contract after many, many hours of calls trying to sort this out. I'm praying that solves this problem, this office owes me thousands of dollars at this point by charging me self pay rate and making me file my own claims. My insurance's system cant comprehend why an in-network provider is trying to make me file my claims. Dixie, Penny, I hope you really look inside yourself and think about how you're harming your clients before posting multiple paragraphs defending your improper and potentially illegal billing practices. I hope whoever else you're hurting gets justice.
