A good range of jewelery, watches and gifts are available. The owner also runs an engraving service which can be done whilst you wait although it is probably best to allow a couple of days if you can. Price wise it is competitive with large chain jewelers and has the advantage of being the only Proper jewler in the town

It's very sad that after 50yrs in the high St of Halstead they are on the brink of closure. A sad indictment of what this country has become. Good shops like this are now a thing of the past. Rathbone jewellers was once the most busiest jewellers in newham, which is no more. Rathbone jewellers sell gold,white gold and silver jewellery. They also sell a selection of watches and trinkets. The shop is small but has a huge window display which is nicely laid out. To get into the shop you have to ring a bell(me personally think this is protection for themselves) and many people dont like doing this. The staff are friendly and they let you try on the jewellery excluding earrings to see if you like it. Rathbone jewellers is quite an expensive jewellers and havent really moved with the times. But you can still pick up a fantastic bit of jewellery up. Large car park to the front of the jewellers.

Took my Ebel Brasilia watch worth almost £2000 to GW Blower to see if they could sell it for me…read more They priced it for sale at £1800. It was pristine and came boxed with original paperwork and Ebel proof of purchase and authenticity card stamped by the jeweller I purchased it from. The watch showed no sign of selling so I asked for the watch to be returned to me. After I paid their fee they sent the watch in a simple glasses-like case. I queried where the box was. They eventually sent a box but it was the outer box only and the paperwork was not there. After several weeks of trying to get an answer, the owner advised he had lost the proper box and paperwork and could do nothing about it and this would not affect the resale value in any way . My own local jeweller said the lack of card would make a substantial difference to the resale cost so I should pursue Blower for the difference. The trading standards advised similarly. Given I had noted Blower mishandled another customers goods and didn't pay damages despite a CCJ, I opted not to waste even more money because Blower was not likely to pay. The last time I called the shop he just hung up on me when I mentioned I needed the card back. I would not trust this seller at all.

It also stocks watch's and ornaments too. The prices are very reasonable and the quality is great, they sell gold, silver and white gold all at great prices. Ive brought jewellery from here many times and still have it now and its in just as god condition as when i brought it from here.

DVDs are similarly priced, making for huge savings in the long run. Second-hand electronics are also available, which I have never had any issues with over the past ten or so years. Staff are always helpful and welcoming, which is more than can be said for some larger, more famous stores. In all, a brilliant shop for cheap entertainment, even if it is somewhat far from the town centre itself five stars.

They sell everything from handbags to shoes and all kinds of clothes. They have a large changing room with plenty of cubicles. The display of shoes is really good rather then all on one shelf they are laid out at the back of the store in a square with plenty of seating. There bags are atractivly displayed on glass shelving so you can see what the bags look like all over. They always seem to have a sale on which is good as I feel there prices are really rather high. I know its good fashion but is still a little pricey in my opinion (but then I do normally shop in Primark).

Perfect for when your OH is looking at clothes you can go to the other side of the shop and look at clothes for you too! The prices are quite expensive but they do have great sales knocking the prices right down, you can pick up some great bargins. They do great brands here like Tom Wolfe.

Usualy in all honesty it is a shop that is just way to expensive for me but the clothes are gorgeous. I used this shop though to get my bridesmades out fits from, the choice in sizes was great cause the bridesmades ranged from very slim to a little on the larger size so it was hard to find anything within the high street shops. This shop though had some beautiful dresses that you wouldn't wear anywhere else then to a special occasion like a wedding. We found a beautiful deep purple tafeta dress in the sizes we needed and the staff were lovely and helpfull. The changing rooms had thick velvet drapes rahter then flimsy cotton curtains where everyone can see what you are doing. I brought the dresses for the girls, then they could keep them for if needed on a special occassion again. A very expensive shop but lovely outfits.
