The other times, I tolerated the styles, but something never sat right in terms of texture. Sometimes, it was communication, while other times it was likely the right person for the right time in life. After some digging around, I decided to give Naamza a try. Parking is plentiful and free (no validation needed - crazy right?) in this small plaza. However, be ready to maneuver that car because that underground parking lot is NARROW and STEEP. I had my cut with E, who was a newer stylist I didn't find much information on, so I was already more than nervous. However, with an upcoming wedding attendance, I needed to get that cut in, so I settled. Right away, I had sent a photo of what I wanted and for perspective, this was a 2-hour advanced notice walk-in. E and I soon met, talked about styles, and he jotted down notes on my hair. We started with a wash, the cut and walkthrough, and then a wash and finally a style. For the visit, I asked for a scissor cut, and E delivered. Unlike any other stylists in the past, E meticulously textured my hair, giving me a style that would've elated childhood me. He also educated me on specific spots of my hair and how to style it the way that he did. After the cut, there is also a complimentary light snack and canned drink to enjoy. There isn't much else in the plaza, but there is a metal table outside to wait at. While at Naamza, I also had a chance to meet Bonnie, who baked the most amazing lemon-flavored pastry. During my previous visit, a hairstylist named Heidi gave me a really bad haircut. Even my wife noticed the difference. I was very upset and almost left a one-star review immediately, but I decided to be fair and give her another chance. When I booked my next appointment, I explained that my hairstyle had been a little different from usual last time. Instead of simply acknowledging my concern and trying to understand what I meant, Heidi repeatedly asked, "How different?" three times. Then, when she started cutting my hair, she told me that I could change my hairstylist anytime. Honestly, I was shocked by her response. I wasn't being rude or disrespectful; I was simply explaining my previous experience. The entire haircut became awkward and uncomfortable, and I ended up staying silent for the rest of the appointment. I don't understand why a simple comment about my hairstyle turned into such an uncomfortable interaction. The problem isn't just the haircut itself. Customer service means listening to feedback professionally and making customers feel comfortable, not making them feel awkward for expressing a concern. In my opinion, Heidi needs to improve her communication and customer service skills. Another thing worth mentioning: during in the past, another employee offered me a hair product in exchange for leaving a 5-STAR REVIEW. This made me question the authenticity of the business's reviews. Daro consistently delivers a great cut, and the overall experience is well worth it. The salon is always clean, modern, and welcoming. I came by to chop about 2-3 inches off, refresh my layers, get a wash and blowout, and I was in and out in 45min. The shampoo follows after, and then he does a great blowout. His technique - similar to what you'd really only see in a Korean salon as opposed to a western one - gives crazy volume, like when they use the round brush against the root to give it that bump.
