Excellent option near the base and in Grafenwoehr. It is on the main strip with lots of options. I lunched there and enjoyed it. Watch out, enormous portions! The spicy pork is excellent. Lots of flavor and sauce. The cuts of pork were great, not too much fat, which is my preference. There were also lots of veggies. I'm not a huge mushroom fan (lots here) but the broccoli was great. I was really skeptical about Korean restaurants in Germany, but this business was awesome! I ordered the soft tofu soup and the flavors were not only what I was accustomed to, it was elevated with richness of spice. Bulgogi cannot be messed up when preparing, it is an easy comfort dish in the Korean culture. The flavor was excellent and not close to the US prepared dishes. The service was courteous, professional, and quick! The only thing you should know about Germany is all water is not free as in the US. Water is offered for purchase sparkling or flat (still). The quality of this still water was amazing and I wish I got the company of the water so I could purchase it in the US, one of the best! The location is clean and offers a free bathroom. Yes, some places in Germany, you must carry at least one Euro to use the facilities. I travel to Grafenor (spelling) a few times a year, I plan on making this my "go to" spot for Asian food. read more

The place is small. The entrance can get crowded fast because people just stand there to wait to be seated. I've honestly had better Korean food. I love Korean food. Everywhere I go I look for it. When I found out there was one near by I was excited. Unfortunately, the food definitely wasn't as good as I'm use to. My beef was over cooked and my rice was burnt so it was crunchy. I've never got soft cucumber kimchi, I'm use to it being crunchy and cold. We had to pay for traditionally Korean sides and water (I've lived in Korea for 3years) and I've never paid for sides or water at a traditional sit down restaurant. They did have tteokbokki with oden which was good. The sauce was spicy to the point where it just hurt wasn't as sweet as I'm use to. Was way more expensive than I'm use to. I've been here two times in the past month and I can't complain about the meals that I've gotten both times. I've tried both the Beef Bulgogi and the Spicy Beef Bulgogi (although there's no burning heat felt, from the spiciness of the dish, you will sweat), the fried and steamed dumplings, Beef Bulgogi Kimbap (8A on the Menu) and the seafood one. The flavored Soju are also good here, and I would recommend ordering to go with your meal. The establishment also offers tables with grills (if you are interested in having dishes that involve the grill I would recommend calling ahead of time and reserving a table). The only thing that I must warn you about is that the Restaurant only excepts cash payments, so be forewarned before you're rushing out looking for the nearest ATM which is across the street. Besides that I recommend that you go, eat and leave full. :) read more

There are limited options in Graf, so nothing here is likely to be the "best X food I ever had." Given that, the folks that run Bap (a family I assume) make some of the better Asian food here (head and shoulders better than the Chinese places, IMHO). I've only ever had takeout (not ready to roll the COVID dice inside a place this small), but servings are nicely sized. The teriyaki chicken (not sure that's really a Korean thing) has a nice grilled flavor w/ actual vegetables. The sushi is decent (I like the salmon roll), the Bibimbap is decent as is the Kimchi soup. read more

This is the only Korean Restaurant around the area. And, boy, was I relieved that it's actually good. Soups are good though I've had better, but they make up for it with serving size and quality ingredients. The pork belly and dol sot bi bim bap are my favorites. Tried this place today and loved it! We ordered vegetarian Mandu (dumplings). They were perfectly cooked with a really delicious sauce. I ordered a chicken and fried rice main course and my husband a beef and fried rice course. They had possibly the best fried rice I've ever tasted. The rice was perfectly cooked! They did not skimp on meat or eggs. We also had an order of radish kimchi. It was great too. We went during lunch hours and got all the above for €17! Ok, I have been to Korea, I grew up eating a lot of Korean food, so my standards might be high. Still, knowing that the restaurant is owned by Korean people, you'd think that the food would be amazing! Well... I was a bit disappointed. We ordered a lot of food, and everything was just ok. We had the Kim bap, yaki-Mandu, ramen, soon du bu chi ge, pork belly (kitchen grilled), and bulgogi. The Kim bap was ok, it was actually good, compared to everything else, but not great. Yaki-Mandu, ie fried gyoza, ie fried dumplings, which should be one of the easiest thing, was not that good. The picture looked like it is going to be pan fried, but it was deep fried. The "skin" was clearly home made and retained a lot of the cooking grease, and the inside was greasy and loose? Just not great. Ramen... I mean ramen?!? How can you mess it up? First it wasn't the spicy red Korean style ramen, it was like 2 packs of top ramen with some red chili thrown in there with onions. Weird. The soon du bu, which is normally my favorite thing to get. I was so excited to get it... Well it was red, really red, but not spicy? How is that possible? The "broth" was very watery, no flavor, except some spices. It was weird. And what was in there? Shrimp scraps, not whole shrimps but just scraps, tofu, and onion. Yes! Onions again. How weird. This was what I was most excited to have and I was so disappointed. The bulgogi was so disappointing. Just skinny little beef slivers with tons and tons of onions. More onions. Lastly, the pork belly, it was actually decent, we ordered that after having many disappointing dishes, and we wanted to get something so that we would leave the restaurant happy and fulfilled. The meat was a bit over cooked and dry, but at least it tasted good. Then again, by this point, we were just hoping to get something good. The only thing that was amazing there was the free kimchee, you just go to the fridge and grab as many as you want, and their drinks. I love bong bong, which is just grape juice with grape bits, and we also had soju. We will go back to get more drinks, I'm not sure about eating there again. Oh, and the dishes are pretty expensive. Ramen was 9€, in Korea or in the states you can usually get this for about $5 and it'd be tasty! The soup and the meat dishes were €12 or so? Which is actually around $15! That's expensive. So all in all, it was a disappointing experience but we don't have anything else close to Korean near by... So what can you do? read more

I just came from Korea and ill tell you that (from my experience) this is as close to authentic Korean food you will find. I was very pleased with the Bib n bob, and the kim bap. The "Korean Restaurant" (there's no other name on the building) is located between B-299 and USAG Grafenwöhr's Gate 1. I went on a Wednesday evening. The weather was nice, but there's no outdoor seating. Parking is not a problem in the evening as the other businesses on the street are closed for the day. Parking for lunch may be an issue. Atmosphere: It reminded me of a mom-and-pop restaurant in Korea, which it should, because it's a mom-and-pop Korean restaurant in Germany. They have tables with the grill in the center in the front half of the restaurant and regular tables in the back half. So nothing fancy, but it was comfortable and clean. Service: Korean. You need to call to the waiter/waitress or you're probably not going to get served. The side dishes are self serve from the coolers on the wall. That being said, quick service, they confirmed with me how I wanted my food prepared, and payment was quick. Food: The menu has your standard Korean fare, but no kimchi pancake. I ordered fried (pan fried, not deep fried) vegetable mandu (dumplings) and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). The mandu was, to my surprise, home made. There are 7 to an order and they make a meal to themselves. Because I was expecting frozen mandu, which are fairly small, I didn't even finish the 7 jumbo mandu I was served. The flavor was good and the lightly sweetened soy-based dipping sauce was as it should be. The only drawback to large vegetable mandu was the veggies sweating out a lot of liquid during cooking which was retained by the wrapper so the first bite was a bit messy. After that I just ate from top to bottom to avoid making a mess. The jjigae came at the same time as the mandu and was boiling hot. It smelled terrible (just kidding - the smell is an acquired one as is the taste) which was a good sign as well. It was beef doenjang jjigae and the meat was good. The tofu used was extra firm which was okay, but it didn't really absorb any of the flavor of the stew. The zucchini squash and onions complemented the overall dish, however, it was a bit bland for me. Nonetheless, it's the best doenjang jjigae I've had to date in a European Korean restaurant. Overall: Other diners' dishes looked great as well and I could overhear the compliments. This is the best Korean food I've had in a European Korean restaurant and if you're in the area and want something other than Bavarian or Italian, I'd give this place a go. I will probably eat here 2 more times before I leave so I'll update if I have a different experience than my first one. read more

My expectations were met exactly. I ordered the spicy pork (I'm not great on the Korean names) that I really enjoyed from other restaurants and it was delicious. I've been back three times now. Service time is pretty reasonable if you're with 1-3 people or ordering to-go, but if you're bringing in a larger group expect a wait proportional to your group size. Like most places in Germany, food comes out when it's ready, so if you have ten people, #1 will probably be finished long before #10 gets their food. First time we called to reserve a table and ordered our food ahead of time when we got there there were no tables and were told we had to wait because someone took our table.
