This is about the KA call centre, not the Brisbane Office which I am sure is lovely!
I just had a terrible customer service experience with KA. I tried booking several flights online, and the system kept timing out on the payment page. When I tried to rebook, the website said that the cheaper fares were no longer available, so I had to book the higher fare, which I did.
But now, I have just received an email saying that in fact, my previous attempts to reserve were held for me (but I wasn't told this), pending payment.
There is a $700 difference between the two flights, and the cancellation fee is $600. KA will not waive the cancellation fee of the more expensive flight so that I can complete payment of the cheaper flight, even though it was a problem with their system system error, and not my fault.
They also told me that I booked through a travel agent (nope!) and that the email I received wasn't from them, when it clearly was - the links went to their official website, they had all the correct booking numbers etc, the call centre could access the bookings.
Not waiving the cancellation fee is one thing, but telling me the email wasn't from them and that they couldn't do anything because I booked through a travel agent is really strange and off-putting! read more
