Today my mum tried ordering a breakfast plate and was yelled at by the man working at the counter when she asked why the egg system was so corrupt. They serve very little food here. There's only really cheese and bread and there is supposedly meant to be eggs. Personally, my brother and I usually go to the nice Lakaghuset next door for our food and we just get a semi-decent drink from Emmerrys. We have had so many bad and disappointing dining experiences at this particular Emmerrys and everytime we say we do not want to come back but my mum likes it here for some reason. Emmerys is in a prime location in the middle of Strandvejen with a lot of property to build the cafe on. They have put this space to waste and could be using it for much more if the staff here focused and put in more work. Emmerys is an okay cafe but there are much better ones on Strandvejen which I would suggest going to.

I went for lunch on my last day in Copenhagen before my long flight home. Café Rotunden mostly…read moreserves traditional Danish food. There were only a few vegetarian options, a couple of salads and one pasta dish. I ordered the Goat Cheese Salad, which was really just okay. The dressing wasn't especially flavorful and was mostly just oily. There were a variety of vegetables as well as a whole lot of walnuts in the dish. The goat cheese was actually not in the salad, but melted onto little roasts served on top. It was rather unremarkable tasting. My friend goes here all the time and loves this cafe, but I didn't think it was anything special. Maybe it would have appealed to me more if the vegetarian options had been better. I did, however, enjoy a tasty latte with my lunch! The atmosphere is open and relaxed with high ceilings and finely set tables. Two of the walls are made just of glass, so there is a lot natural light, at least when the Danish clouds part and allow the rare sun to shine through.

For about 50 dkk (plus drinks) you get a nice brunch dish (mine had eggs, sausage, cheeses, ham and chorizo, salad, yogurt, fruit etc. plus salad bar included - I didn't get to it because the brunch dish was enough. The place is nice, cozy atmosphere, fast service and not too crowded, perhaps we were lucky in this because we went there for an early 10 am brunch on a Saturday - by the way, it's better to book your table to be sure. Wouldn't mind coming back any other time of the day for coffee, snacks and often for brunch.
