I was advised the amount would be less than $20 so I booked the appointment. Everything was fine with the procedure but to my surprise when I went back to have the stitches removed I was told my balance was over $800. I asked why - it took several weeks and multiple phone calls and emails but I was advised "when benefits were pulled, the system was pulling amounts from last year. Since they billed through the day of surgery they did not run a new estimate (?) When the claim was processed it was processed with this years benefits" So now I'm stuck with a much larger amount due. They are allowing me to pay on a 12 monthly payment plan is the only positive outcome for this unexpected balance.

My diagnosis was later identified with PCR/ molecular testing. I had a slow growing, unusual mold infection that was life threatening. Fungal culture doesn't always grow out organisms. If this doctor had been a good listener and truly wanted to help me he could have gotten the state or CDC involved to see why my skin had become black and why I had lesions on my skin. So many times minorities are treated very badly by physicians and ignored. I would not recommend Dr Peterson.
