If you want to rent a mask/snorkel, add another 70 pesos (no fins). You keep the snorkel. Highly recommend you have fins and an underwater flashlight. Fins make it so much easier to move around and the flashlight allows to see what's around in the deeper areas. Snorkelers are required to wear one of their life vests at all times; which is a kind of a drag. Water is crystal clear and cold. 1st cenote is okay. 2nd is larger and a much better experience. You can hire a local snorkeling guide to take into some off limits places (2) to swim without a vest for another 350 pesos. But we didn't do it. You may also sign up at the entrance to scuba drive the caves with a guide but at $200 per person for an hour and a half, seemed to be a little steep. Overall, the experience is a good one that we would recommend. Also the open air cafe at the entrance is a good stop afterwards for food and drink with reasonable prices.

So much history, so much care for them still! We have to protect them at all costs! Wonders of our world I say. This tour from our cruise ship was a 9 hour day but if you're there on your own time and more freely to explore, definitely still take your time and enjoy! But do gotta warn the humidity especially in July when we went, it was atrocious. Pile on the sunblock and cover up still. Bring a towel to wipe the constant drenching sweat off of ya. lol

My girlfriend and I paddle surfed at the incredible casa cenote. Saw pancho the croc, free dived, and just had an overall great day. Mauricio is a great instructor and teaches you a lot about paddlesurfing, free diving and history of cenote's. Then we went to the Ahau beach club and relaxed in a cabana and soaked up the sun. If you are looking for an incredible activity during your stay, Mexican Caribbean kitesurf and paddlesurf is a must.

The friendly, knowledgeable and gorgeous guys at the Sian Kite outpost at Papaya Playa made it easy. They had me in the water and flying in a matter of hours. Equipment was clean and in good repair. My instructor, Matias, was patient and highly competent. The owner, Sian Macondo, made sure we had all the right gear to match the wind and surf conditions. When wind conditions weren't right, we took a break and had a bite at the beach bar directly adjacent to the kiting center. If you are a guest of the Papaya Playa Project resort, the center is easy to find. If not, come to the main entrance of Papaya and tell them you are going to the kite center. A beautiful location with knowledgeable, multi-national locals who were a joy to meet and hang with for the day. Highly recommended.

After Manuel explained it to us, it seemed a good option to try out. (A Cenote, pronounced say-no-tay is akin to an underwater river dive, fresh water vs. salt water) Manuel's instructions and patience with us were exemplary. After never having dived before, I was able to complete the entire tour of the cenote and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Manuel stayed right with me and made sure I was okay for the entire dive. Their website and inquiry form make it convenient to pick out boats and times for your group depending on your needs. They can also set up round trip transportation for an additional $163, which was nice to have because there is no Uber/Lyft in Tulum. We stayed near downtown Tulum and our ride to Puerta Adventuras took about 45 min. There is a coffeeshop and pharmacy next to the boat dock for anyone that needs caffeine or Dramamine before the ride. Everything about the yacht and views above water were as beautiful as you would expect. But the best part was the AMAZING food they cooked for us throughout our entire experience. Chef Ricardo and his staff really outdid themselves...I was expecting typical sandwiches or finger food, but instead we got French toast, sushi, ceviche, burgers, empanadas, all served warm and fresh! Once the boat was docked next to the island we had a couple hours to relax and explore. Some of us paddled to the island, some floated in the water, and some relaxed on the yacht with unlimited booze. This was truly a fun adventure that everyone could enjoy. Shoutout to the rest of our crew on Boat Bali - our host Tati, captain Jose, and sailors Octavio and Santiago all provided the best customer service to make this experience feel top-notch for us. First off, the yacht was gorgeous and clean. The staff was kind and attentive, and the day started off with a beautiful breakfast prepared by a private chef that included fresh tropical fruit, french toast, and delicious tropical drinks. The music and great energy flowed. We sailed out into the beautiful blue sea and docked. All the while, our private chef continued to spoil us with delicious tapas, meals, desserts and drinks all day. We weren't short of good times and great photos! I'm seriously considering this company to host my wedding, and no matter what - I will be back! I can't stop gushing about this place and the luxe experience that we had.
