I am a first time mom and had so many worries about whether I was doing it right, if my baby was getting enough, pumps, everything! There is so much information on the internet. It is very overwhelming. Kim helped me to find the right answers for me. My baby was a week old and not quite gaining enough and she gently guided me to make sure that she was growing and thriving. Her suggestions did the trick! I like that she is a nurse, board certified lactation consultant AND doula. Excellent one stop shopping. She sent a note to my baby's pediatrician after our visit and it was nice to see that everyone was on the same page with taking care of my little one. She is kind, professional and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend her!!!

I do not recommend Kimberly Rush Mothering Support Service. On her first visit with us she rushed…read moreto get the baby fed. Instead of helping with latch issues and form, she jumped to using a nipple shield without offering much information about how to use it, clean it or eventually wean the baby from it. She also only showed us one new way to feed, laying down--not practical for day-to-day life. She also refused to discuss my hesitation about the shield, saying that she was the lactation consultant and therefore she knew best. At the time I was supplementing with expressed milk, pumping and feeding my baby via syringe. Kimberly suggested using bottle, and when I mentioned my doctor's hesitation about this, she offered a similar response, stating she knew more about issues of lactation than a family doctor. This sort of intransigence and unwillingness to have open discussion made us made us not want to use her services any more. She is also incredibly expensive. We continued our follow up at Mission Breastfeeding Center. We're now 8 weeks and still unable to wean from the shield or bottles.

I was always interested in having a homebirth since having my own bad experiences in hospitals. After seeing my mom friends have bad birth experiences in hospitals that interest quickly formed determination, I just didn't know how to go about it. Thankfully after posting on a local facebook group I was recommended Karen by name not just by one person but several people. I Always pictured myself finding someone Who was holistically minded whom I could learn from and very quickly when first speaking with her I realized Karen was exactly that. I'm so thankful we picked Karen for our home birth because my labor was not easy it was 30 hours long and I was not exactly the zen primal birther I had hoped to be I was throwing up crying and down right exhausted for the latter half of my birth and thinking omg how am I going to get this baby out who do I think I am?? But Karen was on top of it she coached me through the hardest parts and gave me and my perineum the support we desperately needed! Because of her I had an incredible birth that has empowered me so much through this postpartum period. I don't think I would've been able to labor and birth at home without her knowledge and quick action.

Her knowledge is unmatched by any physician I have encountered. She goes above and beyond for you throughout your whole pregnancy. The support I received from her after birthing my first child was immense. She was there to answer or support me through any milestone. My husband was so amazed at the care we received and said "she will deliver all our future children". Karen is an amazing Midwife and woman, I would recommend her a million times over.

After a failed attempt at a natural birth with my firstborn, I knew I wanted a doula this time…read morearound. I interviewed 4 amazing women around the upstate but, I knew the instant I met Ashley that she was my doula! Within an hour of calling her during my labor, she was in my living room applying a hot water bottle to my back during contractions. Ashley spent the next 10 hours doing hip compressions, applying counter-pressure, making sure I stayed hydrated, suggesting different positions to help baby move down, preventing me from panicking during tough contractions, and so much more. Having her there gave me peace and direction in a time where I felt lost and helpless. I can not recommend Ashley enough. She cares for her clients and loves what she does. My husband even admitted he was glad we hired a doula He took some convincing but I know he truly appreciated having someone there to support me who knew first hand what labor was like and knew various ways of providing comfort. I could continue raving about Ashley for days. Thanks to her, I was able to enjoy a peaceful homebirth rather than being stuck in a hospital during this COVID19 nightmare.

Our midwives had practiced in homes over the past 11 years, but were getting calls from women who did not want to be in the hospital to give birth, but were not desirous of home births. These were young educated women who often contacted us after they had done hours of research on their own and had finally found what they were looking for; someone who would respect their opinions, provide them with resource and then give them options on where and how to birth. Research was done, a plan was launched, permits were acquired, a building was secured and renovations began. We were able to now have the best of both worlds, a home-like environment and easy access to medical facilities should they become necessary.
