But if it's your first time in Oslo especially give yourself at least 2 hours to walk all the way in and about, around and out. This is a classic outdoor sculpture garden all done by one man-so not common. Massive grounds. Beautiful park walk and fountains and views. Iconic place and I highly suggest you go to his small museum first so you can get more history on Gustav Vigeland and the evolution of the his 200 pieces turning into the "Frognerpark."

We went through a small path that lead us to the entrance. There were picnic tables and lots of kids/families in the area. Once we went through the front, starts a small trail which is scenic. You might want to wear tennis shoes-you are entering a hiking trail that is not paved. There are small ponds you will pass. I believe at 1.5 miles you cross this bridge with a beautiful waterfall and an old abandoned building, which is worth the hike. These woods/hike is not strenuous, but I suggest you wear the proper footwear.

It's not a particularly large park but it's a lovely one. Plenty of grass area to sit in--shade and sun. There's also a small play structure where a lot of little kids frolic and a water station with what seems like drinkable water because I saw a lot of people refill their water bottles here. Anyways, definitely a great place to just stop and relax. Get some food to go nearby and spend the day here! I bummed here for about an hour and read--really lovely.
