We're new to town and I called to order from here for the first time for my birthday. We order pizza every Friday and often on evenings when there's no school the following day, so we were hoping to find our new regular pizza place. Our go-to order is always a large meat lovers and a medium half pepperoni/half cheese for our kids.
While I was giving her our order, I was abruptly cut off when I asked for the medium half pepperoni/half cheese and told, "We don't do half-and-half." I was honestly caught off guard because I don't think I've ever encountered a pizza place that doesn't offer half-and-half pizzas. She then suggested I order two small pizzas instead "if you have picky eaters" and told me they were $15 each.
I'm not interested in spending $30 on two separate small pizzas when all I need is one medium pizza with pepperoni on half of it. Especially when half pepperoni/half cheese seems like about the simplest half-and-half request possible.
I decided to cancel the order, which she seemed pretty annoyed about. I still politely told her to have a good day and got a quick "bye" before she hung up.
Considering how often we order pizza, we very likely would have become long-term customers. Unfortunately, if half-and-half pizzas simply aren't an option, it doesn't really work for our family anyway. The unnecessarily abrupt and unfriendly interaction just made the first impression worse.
Two stars because I obviously can't comment on the quality of the pizza since I never got that far. Maybe it's great! But between the attitude and such an oddly inflexible ordering policy, I don't think we'll be finding out. read more
