We had passed this tempting bakery while searching for the Lion Monument. Coming back, a cold November rain had kicked back in - making this bakery a warm, inviting sanctuary! We escaped inside with a sigh of relief. There were lots of baked goodies to choose from (even though late in the afternoon) and a relatively large seating area in the back. We both had a hot chocolate and a slice of Truffes Grand Cru Rahmtorte, a scrumptious chocolate torte. This capped off our day trip to Lucerne, Switzerland in excellent fashion! read more

We were 4 with a one year old. The place is not really prepared for kids (no baby seats) but the waitress was very welcoming and helpful. Food and drinks are refined. You have a choice of snacks, bakeries and salads. read more

At Konditorei Heini, you can either order from the dine-in menu from a server or go up to the counter where there's a variety of bakery/food items and bring it back to your table. I ended up getting a slice of pizza and some type of tuna open-face sandwich from the counter which were both delicious. I also ordered a hot chocolate from the dine-in menu which was pricey and just okay. My favourite place to stop for ice cream in Luzern. It's homemade, light, and delicious. Also stop in for an afternoon Kaffee and Kuchen -- Heini has over 25 different tortes, and you're sure to find something you like, though it can be a bit intimidating! They also have delicious chocolates and marizpan. When it's warm (or even not-so-terribly-warm) you can eat outside, though there are plenty of places inside as well. read more

When we arrived - a group of eight of us - there were no tables, so we were invited to sit around a counter, which was fine. The menu had a number of options though there was no dairy free milk option (which is fine, I understand that happens) but what annoyed me was that I was sitting with a group of seven other people, and they'd told me they didn't have non dairy milk, so I said, i'm fine, i'd rather not have anything. Not least because it wasn't exactly cheap. Seriously, a glass of orange juice for €6...! The waitress then said if I was going to sit in the restaurant I had to order something. I can completely understand this logic when no one is ordering anything or you're there alone, but I'd come in with a large group and everyone else was ordering drinks, and she looked at me like I was a complete waste of her time. It wasn't necessary really. I ordered something, which wasn't worth the €6... and then she then got pretty rude over all the bills as well. Getting angry for accidentally giving a euro coin, to which my friend asked me if i'd got the name of the place for my tripadvisor review, and low and behold suddenly she was sweet as pie. No need to be so rude. Won't be back to this particular place. Amazing how bad customer service can completely ruin your experience in a place. Everyone else said their chocolates and coffees were fine but nothing special. Worth a miss. read more

Family of five (12, 8, 6 year old) that just paid 100F and the waitress that ask the customer to leave ONLY because she ordered takeaway food? The place was near empty. I went so far as to say i will buy 2 cups of coffee which she said i was not allowed to eat the takeaway. She was just plain rude. I have the impression that most swiss are rude to foreigners so long as they are not being paid. I speak german and english. read more
