The music is alternative/mix format- Nickelback, Lifehouse, Sara Bareilles, Maroon 5 (one of my favorites), Katy Perry (another favorite of mine), Train, Pink, Rob Thomas, etc. Sometimes I will hear Carrie Underwood. Yes, at times, it seems that the same play list is used over and over, but you can always change the station for more variety (you do have that choice.) I am lucky enough to have XM as a choice at my workplace, so if I want early alternative (one of the music types I grew up with) called 'New Wave' I can listen to it, whenever I want. I really enjoy the "Mark & Mercedes in the morning" show (weekdays/ weekends play repeats, sometimes). I've been a fan for all these years. The topics of conversation are thought-provoking as well as being funny and entertaining- kinda like one of my favorite shows of all time "Sex & The City." I like the witty banter of two people that seem down to earth and I can relate to their point of views. Enter their verbage: the BOD (wink wink nudge nudge- if you're a true fan, you'd know it.) They bounce off of each other, is what I mean. I saw Mercedes pose for pictures at the last Bite, and she seemed so nice, not snotty at all- I like that. When listeners call in, it adds another dimension to the show. I've called in a few times myself. It's a funny show and I enjoy it. I am, however, growing tired of JC's never- ending commercials for laser hair removal- I mean, c'mon already! He's like the Glen Lerner of/in radio. And the delivery is a little like wooden skates, not natural at all. Blair adds the youthful perspective, as she is the youngest contributor to the show, though she sounds more tattooed than the average person/listener. There are so many events that they sponsor that I enjoy going to, like Pet-A-Palooza & Bite of Las Vegas. Both venues encourage drives to benefit the community (nonperishable canned foods to donate). The station also does a Four Corners Food Drive every year. The station is an asset to our community- our community is better with all their efforts and contributions.

You can get your dance fix with this unique music format- feels like you're in a club. Obviously, with my reviews of radio stations (you should see my CD collection- alternative, greatest hits, jazz, dance, pop, compilations, reggae, world, etc.), I have a large & varied musical taste- it just depends on my mood. Sometimes it can get repetitious, the beats, but like I said in my other reviews, you can always switch the station, when you get tired of it. Anyway, hope it lasts, because stations often times evolve (play list slowly changes) or cease to exist altogether. These are the most known: David Guetta (played at the gym alot and other stations), with featured DJ's like Paul Oakenfold (legendary) and John Digweed (might sound familiar to you).

To be honest, I didn't really know what to expect other than perhaps seeing a really big antenna. Upon arrival I was informed that within this building housed the magic behind radio stations such as KKLZ 96.3 FM, KCYE 102.7 FM, KDWN AM 720, KOAS 105.7 FM and KVGS 107.9 FM. The only other experience I have had in terms of radio was viewing the tiny little operation for the student run radio station at the University of Nevada, Reno. By comparison, I was blown away by the BB building! We were able to take a look at the mainframes which breath life into the stations, check out some of the super high tech studio rooms, and given a little demonstration on what exactly are some of the tasks of a radio DJ! At first the whole setup was a bit daunting because there were seemingly hundreds of buttons, knobs, faders, and whatnot that all individually control something. It was something else watching Larry seamlessly adjust them while multi-tasking and performing other functions vital to giving his audience a perfect listening experience. Perhaps the coolest thing about the building was the room set up to handle live performances for bands that come into town. A cozy intimate room with signed memorabilia all over the walls proved to be a very cool spot for artists to come in and throw down some tasty acoustic jams. A big thank you to all the employees at Beasley Broadcasting and the great Larry Martino for giving us an inside look into the radio business!

I think what we liked was dressing up for these concerts. Lots of Aqua Net too. Tickets were all under $16! And of course we loved wearing the concert T-shirt the next day-those were only like $8. Fun times. Having seen so many great artists I can appreciate this station even more. From Madonna to The Cars to INXS, to Bon Jovi I tune into Bob FM 107.9 when I'm feeling nostalgic! Most of the articles are based on extreme liberal opinions and ideologies and they try to push their toxic influence onto their readers. I had the magazines removed from my business and will continue to spread the word to other businesses that subscribe to this junk. I'm not going to waste my time complaining about the ratio of advertisements to actual content, because print media is struggling and the ratio really isn't that bad here. I only wish the businesses that advertise would try mixing it up with a new ad every once in a while- the majority of them stay the same issue to issue, which leads readers to flip through them without even taking notice. Sections I pay most attention to are the local/community features: love when they do specials that are specific to our area, which they're good about. Water waste, real estate policies, education at CCSD, development of downtown, all things that are relevant to me as a resident. It helps that I don't read the local paper, but if I did I could see how they might not have much I hadn't heard or seen before. Mixed feelings on their food section and movie/music section: I like reading about new places or upcoming events that I otherwise might miss, but their ratings system and suggestions are a bit skewed. As Mike G pointed out, it's rare to find a movie rated anything other than two or three stars which completely negates the five-star scale. Food section lacks consistency: I notice a lot of errors, such as recommending a place that has been closed for over six months. Maybe they're short staffed on fact-checkers? I generally take their recommendations with a grain of salt, as half I try on my own are fair but others are dismal and have no place being featured in a magazine article (don't even get me started on their pizza and burger coverage).
