This is truly a hidden gym! A hole in a wall. Easy to miss. This Korean supermarket is small, but mighty. It has everything that you would expect from a Korean market and more. All the snacks, all the fruits, all the meats all the veggies. The establishment is clean and well organized. The associates are extremely helpful. I look forward to my next visit as they are getting more selections of the viral fruit shaped ice cream. The positives here are the cleanliness and the wide variety of products, including ready-made hotpot meats and wagyu plus they have a wide variety of fresh cooked foods for grab-and-go. Me and my daughters love this place! We love to get some of our favorite treats. Today we tried a bakery item that was bread and custard cream. I'm so glad I bought 2 because it was so good! It was soft, buttery with just a touch of sweet. They have a variety of goods and we love trying new things from there. We will be returning and trying more of the fresh store items. Always a hit! Love stopping by when we're in the area. Every samgak-gimbap (similar to Japanese Onigiri) I've tried so far have been fantastic, and their banchans too! They also have great prices on canned hot pepper tuna and kewpie mayo. Very clean store with lots of treats and grocery items. Depending on day and time, parking lot can be busy. I am here every week for the past 2 months. They have very nice produce and different stocked items. They seem to be fully stocked each time I go in. The young staff at the counters/registers are very very friendly and the service is always great. I have tried the prepared foods but I have to be careful because when they say spicy they really mean spicy. The sushi is always FRESH. Finally, a Korean market in this area!!! I was excited to hear this opened because it's closer to my mom's place. She took me here last night, and it did not disappoint. It brings shame to the K-markets in my Tampa neighborhood. Even though this is a korean market, they still offer other asian country goods. It's small but has pretty much everything you need from the essentials to things you can't find just anywhere. They carried items that I normally have trouble finding back home, such as hondashi and bonito flakes. Their produce was fresh with a nice selection for asian dishes, and the store is kept extremely clean. They have a section for home and kitchen goods as well. They offer assortments of kimchi, korean side dishes (known as banchan), and a section for quick to make packaged korean dishes (these are SO good). The snack aisle has a variety of good treats. On your way out, you can grab some homemade korean food that's first come, first serve like kimbap. If you're new to korean food or culture, I suggest trying kimbap, which kind of looks like sushi but tastes different. Cha-meh when in season is a yellow melon and also worth a try (your choice whether you want to scoop seeds out or eat with them); this is in one of my pictures below. Snack aisle recommendations- honey butter chips (highly coveted) or honey butter nuts, chocoheim, & roasted chestnuts. You can't go wrong with pocky or the koala snacks. The shrimp crackers shaped like fries are tasty if you like seafood. Drink aisle recommendations- Korean pear or korean rice drink. Ramune (japanese) is also good if you've never tried it. Other recommendations- Kewpie roasted sesame salad dressing (omg) and microwavable rice (for emergencies). I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was extremely nice and very helpful. Customer service here is great, and everyone was so friendly. I will definitely have to try and stop by before my trip back to Tampa and get my cooler ready to bring back some korean groceries, lol! read more

Koa Mart is a new Asian grocery store in the Village Shoppes of Coconut Creek, an open air shopping plaza on the corner of 441 and Wiles Road in Coconut Creek. Koa Mart specializes in Korean food but they also carry the ingredients you would need for Chinese and Japanese dishes. The store has a freezer and produce section along the perimeter and the pantry items are in the middle of the store, Popular items include ramen noodle cups, mochi, frozen dumplings, and Japanese sake. My favorite section was the snack and sweets aisle with fun flavors of chips and cookies including Hi-Chew, pocky, and shrimp flavored chips. They also sell kitchen gadgets, novelties, and even beauty products. I recently had popcorn with kimchi seasoning and it was addicting, I plan on coming back for that seasoning and some of the thinly sliced beef ribeye for Korean BBQ. The store is so clean and bright. It was bustling with happy shoppers and smiling staff ready to help. What a great addition to the plaza. I am so glad that this market opened in my neighborhood. read more

Brand new Korean market off of Wiles and 441. It's big, bright and clean. Plenty to choose from. There's a nice section of fresh vegetables and if you like Kimchi, I highly recommend the fresh homemade in the refrigerator section. If you like beef the Korean thin sliced beef looked very nice. There's also some different seafood in the freezer section. I was able to get some cuttlefish which I haven't been able to buy here in Florida. Nice selection of soups, dumplings and condiments. The store is organized and it's easy to find things. A very nice store and the staff is wonderful and helpful. I'm a fan of Asian markets so I know I'll be back. read more

Nice selection of Asian groceries. Biggest Asian market in the area and seems to cover all the necessities.

I came here wanting to check out the noodle selection which I found to be very decent. They have a minimum amount you can use with a credit card, so bring cash if you don't plan on getting very much.. it's a pretty decent size location. I did see that they had matcha so I may go back for some of that. I didn't have much of an interaction with anyone, so I can't speak on that. All in all, I saw a few things that I might want to come back for. read more

Small Korean market. I went in one evening hoping to get some prepared foods, but they did not have any at that time. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I went back another day to try the prepared foods -- the Vegetable Kimbap and Tteokbokki were delicious. The prices are reasonable. The vegetable selection is very limited though. read more

Their entrance is automatic and their staff are super friendly which helped with the atmosphere. They have reasonable prices and a great selection. Please be mindful and kind that because this is their soft opening, they are still stocking their shelves so you will see some empty shelves. What a great market for all your Korean (and other Asian) provisions. Our recent haul included Baeren beer, fresh vegetables, frozen veggie dumplings, pickled radish, and spicy chili sauce. There is also a table up front with prepared items; we got a container of the japchae (which was delicious). The store is very clean and well-lit and everyone working there was nice as well as helpful. Some of the Asian markets we used to frequent have closed so we are happy to have found Koa! read more

So a short report after going to both Kimchi Mart and KOA Mart today. Whike KM is a much bigger store, Koa Mart seems to stock a much more select group of products. As I noted in the soy sauce thread, KOA Mart has the higher quality Korean soy sauces from Sempio (the 501, 701, and Organic) whereas Kimchi Mart really only has one high-quality soy sauce in a decent sized bottle for a good price, the Yamasa Yuuki Marudaizu Organic from Japan. Also, Koa Mart consistently has a nice selection of ready-to-eat products up by the front counters such as kimbop, KFC chicken, pancakes, baked goods, and other stuff, whereas Coral Springs Kimchi Mart has a hard time keeping any of that, it runs out fast and they don't have a big selection, generally just kimbop (and kimchi). I also think KOA Mart has more interesting snacks -- he just got in these almonds that come in all kinds of crazy flavors (like spicy chicken and tteokbokki). KOA Mart also has nice Sake (SOTO and Kurosawa Junmai Daiginjo!) and Soju. This is not to say Kimchi Mart is not worth shopping at but the two places definitely have different stuff. -- at Koa Mart. read more

Went on opening day around 6 pm. Really wanted to get the prepared kimbop but they were sadly already sold out. They did recommend coming in before 3 pm if that's what you are looking for because it's a popular item that sells out quickly. I did get an assortment of frozen foods to try like some frozen teobokki and japchae frozen dumplings. The prepared japchae was very good and a great quick lunch addition if you're in a pinch. Definitely recommend trying the pickled radish, they have an entire refrigerated section with just that. If you are familiar with Korean bbq I would say their selection of meats looked really good and well marbled and will def go back to get some for a kbbq night in. There's also a bunch of Japanese snacks and products as well like mochi and poki. Everyone working there was extremely nice as well with the women at the register trying her best to see if there was any kimbop I could get my hands on. The store is small but full of options non the less. They have appliances, beauty products and even a small produce section. If you have ever wanted to try Korean products or different ramens I would highly suggest checking them out. read more
