As an avid cyclist, I've had a lot of back pain on my most difficult rides. Other than that, no maladies or injuries whatsoever. So I figured I had little to lose. Over a period of about six or eight weeks, with one visit per week, I began to feel increasingly strong, with the noted absence of pain in the lower back. In September of the year I did my hardest annual ride, A 100 mile single day trek through the mountains of Georgia, climbing 11,000 feet. The prior year I almost abandoned halfway through because of back pain. Then, after having been treated by Dr. Pete, I did the same ride with no back pain and improved my time by over an hour. Now several months later I still have no back pain. It was a game changer to have the treatment that Dr. Pete administered. For those of you who suffer with back pain and think there is no solution, think again. And a shout out to Shawna for the ease with which she helps make appointments (and re- and re-re-schedule).

Had 2nd opinions. Tried over 12 different kinds of meds that normally help migraines, but not me. Actually made it worse. Now I'm on a list to see a headache specialist in April 2015...if I live until then. Lol That's just a little history before I share my experience at Peak Performance. So I heard that Andy has helped many people that have suffered with migraines and in severe pain. Many were helped after one treatment. So why not try and see. I set up the appointment online. My experience was very easy. The only time you run into an issue is if he is completely booked. I like the fact that you can choose your availability compared with his. The building is easy to find. The lobby is comfy and elegant. Andy is super nice and very good at what he does. You see him right when your appointment is, no waiting. I was so impressed how he invited my fiancé in and even showed him how to help me get relief. He took time to show me what was going on and how much of a mess my muscles were....and how to work on myself. It's better to teach a person to fish instead of just providing a basket of fish. I was amazed how he found trigger points, pressed in, found the release, and sometimes a referral of release. I thought he was easing up, but no, my muscles were easing up the pain. Thank God! By the time we were done I was feeling so much better. My neck, shoulders, and face were relaxed and loose...just like they should be. Yes, I said face. Who knew your face muscles needed a release of tightness to feel better. I even feel like I glow this evening. Sort of hard to explain. I just feel good. On that note of feeling good, he has warned me that I could experience pain in the areas we worked and even possibly a rebound headache. I've had a constant headache for almost two years, but I've head head, neck, and shoulder pain and knots for over 15 years, so if it works out that way, ok. We may need to do a few more treatments before complete relief. That's ok with me. I've been dealing with this way too long with no help at all. Today was one big step in the right direction.

I am a chronic pain patient with neck and back issues to go along with moderate to severe nerve pain. When I started my care here it was for acupuncture with cupping available. I have to say that I've wanted to try acupuncture for some time and was even told by friends to try it. I was extremely hopeful but also was a little skeptical on exactly how well it would work. Well let me tell you, after the first appointment my skepticism was gone and I felt better enough for my hopes to grow. Sure enough on the next appt, cupping was implemented with the acupuncture. Although it was an odd sensation it really felt good. Needless to say that by the end of the 12 visits, I was and am a firm believer in these forms of treatment and I would highly recommend not only trying these types of treatment for both chronic pain but also any kind of pain and/or injury. On the same note, after my treatment here, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else nor would I recommend anywhere else. Dr Brittany is not only a godsend but if I were to say anyone found their calling it is her. I even had a bum knee that within 3-4 treatments it was back to normal. I have had a lot, and I mean a lot of doctors, never had I found such a knowledgeable doctor but also one with a great bedside manner, a huge amount of empathy and compassion, and to top it off...a down to earth and approachable personality with an infectious laugh. Then to top it off, her staff is the nicest, friendliest, professional and warm hearted group of ladies I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and being taken care of by, EVER. They are literally my angels I happened upon by luck, when I wasn't getting noticeable relief from anything else. If you think I am not being sincere and just blowing sunshine, the only thing I have to tell you is to go there and see for yourself. You'll see I'm not exaggerating. If you have never been to a chiropractor or had acupuncture and cupping, and are either hesitant, unsure of the effectiveness or just plain out right don't know where to go, I highly encourage you to give Dr. Brittany and her staff a try. They have truly found their calling and I would love to keep them a secret and to myself but I just could never deprive anyone with any level of pain of their care and treatment. I promise you, you won't regret it or be disappointed. If you suffer from pain to the point of just wanting to give up like I was, come here. And if you're like me and know that you will never be pain free but would love to get it to just a tolerable level to where you can function and actually have any kind of quality of life, I reiterate, come here and I pretty much guarantee you will get there in time with patience and you will notice some improvement at the end of each treatment. This office and the care and treatment I receive is the one thing, the highlight, that I look forward to all week. What can you lose? Ordinarily, I go to Shift Chiropractic twice a month because I can move more easily after being adjusted, not because there's anything specifically wrong with me -- well, nothing besides the consequences of sitting all day on work days and getting dragged around by big dogs on the weekend. I like Shift because Alec, the proprietor & chiropractor, is good at his job *and* super nice. He is almost always willing to give me exercises for whatever injury I'm currently nursing, which no chiropractor before him ever would. (Why interrupt a revenue stream?) Shift is also a low-key place, with a more ordinary clientele than the high-end chiros I've tried before. And!! Lately I've had a pain in my groin/hip/leg which has prevented me from climbing, the one exercise that I really love. It also seemed to be getting slowly worse over the past couple of weeks. The online therapies I could find seemed to help at the time, but afterward the pain radiated to my hip so dramatically that I could not sleep at night. I scrolled and scrolled on YouTube, trying gentler and gentler exercises, but by this morning I was limping like a much older woman and had a nasty lump in my groin. I began to whether my lymph nodes were swollen! Alec took this new problem seriously, recommending at first that I see a doctor just in case. But as he examined me, he pointed out that the hip in question was dramatically out of place. Because chiropractors actually touch you, he investigated in ways that a regular GP would not, palpating my low back and hip before announcing that he thought that my hip position was causing pain in my adductors and hip flexors. Then the adjustments began, and they included new stretches that targeted the problem hip. Don't ask me what exactly he did, but I knew the moment I stood up from his table that the problem was not my lymph nodes, and that I could spend today how I wanted to, instead of by calling my GP to try to get her to distinguish between cancer/inflammation and a groin pull. (Please doc, help with this potentially deadly pain very near my private parts? Ugh.) It has been four hours since my adjustment, and I still feel the most amazing release in that hip. Five hours ago, I was thinking how I had become an elderly woman and would have to get used to this type of problem. I should just feel happy if it wasn't cancer, I thought. Now I'm thinking I just need to go to the chiropractor more often. I mean THIS EXACT chiropractor.
