The Hospital Social Worker, Jessica, did her job so well, with Providing Skills and Resources. She went above and beyond. The One Lactation Consultant was also Very Helpful. Amanda was her Name. Honestly. I have pushed out FOUR Beautiful Babies. I know a little about how to push when delivering. I've Breastfed ALL of my Children. I don't need Random Strangers grabbing my breasts, and 6 eyeballs staring at me... and putting unnecessary pressure on me while I'm trying to do one of the most challenging things a mother can with her newborn. Honestly Ruined my First Moments with my Daughter. Literally had multiple mental breakdowns while I was there- from staff constantly entering and leaving, telling me what to do, how to do it, when to do it. Every time I'd go to sleep, I swear 20 minutes after... they would come in and wake you up. I was there 5 days. I got MAYBE 10 hours of sleep over the course of that time. It was like a Mental Torture Chamber. Overall, HIGHLY Stressful. Highly Emotional, SUPER distressing and Very Overbearing. Would NOT recommend.

The nursing staff is excellent and responded quickly to request for our treatment. Communication with the doctoral staff was less than one would hope to find in a market Knoxville's size. I went in for a fall bladder attack as I have suffered before. They took over two hours to prescribe pain meds to give me any relief. They were waiting the next day, about noon Saturday, for a second scan to determine a course of action. When that scan was complete, they wanted me to go straight to surgery. I'm home on a blood thinner but my leg is still swollen the size of my torso. My car went down hill from excellent to nonexistent when I was moved, only later to be discharged with clots and severe pain, which I'm still enduring. I know my care was reduced and then discharged much too soon. I can't walk, my toes are blue and I have a cough. I was so impressed until the shift manager decided I needed less care, for what could be a life and death decision. There is no comparison in the difference of care or facilities. I'm going to a pulmonary specialist tomorrow and wouldn't be surprised if I'm re-admitted as I'm as sick as I've ever been.

They operate 24 hours a day and during the lunch and dinner hours, they provide at least two hot entrees along with sides, a salad bar, a pizza bar, a sandwich bar and self service drinks with refills. For breakfast, there is a full array of eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon and all other sorts of yummy breakfast foods. The seating area is spacious and comfortable and sparkling clean. Like I said, this recommend may be a bit unusual, but even if you're not visiting someone who is ill, you need to stop by and try it. You'll be hooked.

We arrived at 1am at the ED and once taken back (about an hour), we were told to be patient, that there was only 1 ED doctor on staff with 4 nurses that morning. We were taken to room 158 and at 11:30pm on Sunday were suddenly awakened by 2 staff saying we needed to move off the floor asap. That floor is only a 23 hour stay room. We were to get a colonoscopy Monday, but come Monday morning, we found out the procedure hadn't even been scheduled. We called our doctor back in Nashville and he said to get the records and come home, which we did. Never during our stay did we ever see or talk to an internest/hospitalist.

I have not needed my primary Dr. Jackson in close to 3 summers while here, although have seen several orthopedic Doctors, GI and cardiologist. I returned to the area for the summer and soon became quite ill. I called Dr Jackson's office to get in to see her for what I thought might be bought of Acute Diverticulitis. The woman that answered the phone said that since I had not seen Dr. Jackson in close to 3 yrs. I was no longer her patient and would need to be seen as a new patient! The woman said she would talk to Dr. Jackson and call right back. About 4 hrs. later we called again and a different woman answered and in describing the earlier call she also said she would talk with the Dr. and call right back. Meanwhile, I was in terrible pain for that whole period. I never did get a call back and still have not 1 week later. I went to the ER in Lenoir City and was diagnosed with Acute Diverticulitis as suspected. I think Dr Jackson and her staff dropped to ball are unprofessional and obviously did not care about all the years I saw her. Pretty sad!

First nurse? doubtful, probably a nursing assistant, took my vitals, got distracted and left my BP cuff on. I finally just took it off myself. Was my medical problem resolved? NO, it was not. Had a young resident come in, ordered a very side effective med, which means he should've asked what meds I was on, vitamins, etc. He asked NONE of this. Waited about 3 hours for a shot. NO other patients anywhere, everyone was restocking, emptying trash, etc. Finally, a nurse entered, asked me about my problem, told her "I'm just waiting for a shot". Oh, ok let me go find it. Got my shot, it did not work, AT ALL and now I'm at home, 48 hours later, with a potential fatal situation. Write EVERTHING down, so your survivors can sue this Monstrosity of a hospital for anything.
