During my recent annual physical, she briefly asked me about my asthma, which I reported was stable and even improving. She then renewed my existing prescription, and we moved on. I was shocked to later receive a separate charge for an office visit based solely on that brief conversation. I am a relatively new patient and was not aware this was their billing practice. My previous doctor never charged me for this, so I will be returning to them as a patient. I also called the office for clarification, but unfortunately Dr. Abraham has not returned my call. In summary, if you have a minor medical condition that requires an annual prescription renewal, do not seek care at Rocky Hill Family Physicians.

In my case this would only apply to the Nurse Practitioner, Misty Cottrell, not me. I had a multi year patient relationship where i would drive 35 miles each way up from Knoxville, keeping each appointment and dutifully adhering to every directive. THEN- one day when i recently suffered a heart attack, she was completely unimpressed. I was in the hospital for 10 days after receiving quadruple bypass open heart surgery. She could not see fit to express the minimal concern by even returning a phone call. When my care was turned over to her from the surgeon, she refused to fill prescriptions for the most nominal of painkillers and became surprisingly openly hostile, making me feel like some junkie in withdrawal just for asking for minimal relief. Watch out. You may feel you have a great relationship at first but that may all change once anything gets serious. She will be completely unreliable, assume zero responsibility for your care and have no compunction to become 'non-compliant' to her most loyal of patients and throw you out like garbage. Beware, also of an extremely incompetent office staff who she will be completely loyal to, not you.

We're no stranger to a doctors office. when I was referred to Arches foot care I was hesitant because I had never heard of them or even seen the building. But my daughter needed treatment so we gave it a try. I was blown away. The staff was 12/10. The nurses, the doctors, the main doctor that worked on my little one and the ladies up front were all so caring and loving towards a little girl they have never even seen before and professional with me. It's as close to having mamaw and papaw fix a boo boo as it gets and that means the world to me. I'll never think twice about where I'll send my kids or myself when we need a podiatrist. I wanted to share a concern about my experience during check-in for my procedure…read more When I arrived, I was informed by the front desk that I had a $45 copay. I explained that I was not told about this when my appointment was confirmed, and because I was coming in for a procedure, I did not bring cash or credit cards with me. The front desk staff member said she would speak with Dr. Edmunds. When she returned, she stated that if I could not pay the $45 copay, I would need to reschedule because the office is cracking down on collecting copays. She then asked if I could borrow the money from my driver. Thankfully, my driver was able to help me, but the situation was very frustrating and embarrassing. My concern is that I had already taken the day off work, followed the preparation instructions, fasted, arranged transportation, and showed up ready for my procedure. To be told at that point that my procedure could possibly be canceled over a $45 copay was very upsetting. I completely understand that offices have policies regarding copays and patient responsibility. However, if those policies are going to be strictly enforced, I believe patients should be informed ahead of time, especially before a scheduled procedure. A courtesy call or reminder letting the patient know the amount due at check-in would help avoid situations like this. I am not refusing to pay my copay, but I do feel the communication could have been handled better. Patients should not find out the day of a procedure, after fasting and making arrangements, that their appointment may be canceled due to a payment they were not made aware of in advance. I hope this concern can be reviewed so future patients are properly informed before their procedure day.
