The place was empty but we reminded ourselves that dinner starts a bit later here. We were greeted with a complimentary Ouzo shot (which continued to be refilled) & started with the Tarama. The dip came in 4 scoops and was pink. Although I've never seen pink Tarama, It wasn't the best Tarama that I've ever had and was okay. (But wouldn't order this one again) We also ordered Spanakopita which we enjoyed. For main, we had the "grilled meat for one"which was excellent (tasty grilled chicken, pork & Gyros!) but is really "Grilled meat for 2 or 3." We ended up sharing this which was a good idea as we couldn't finish it. After dinner, we received complimentary Cognac, espresso and dessert (fruit, yogurt) which was a nice touch and the restaurant was packed by the end of our meal. The appetizer plate allowed us to taste a bit from everything. What's good are the grilled eggplants and the white creamy dip (not tzaziki). Besides that I'd also recommend to skip the plate, everything else was ok. Why would I still give 4 stars? - The Service is very thoughtful! You get free shots and if you don't drink them, they have us espresso for free. You get fruits at the end. Just overall asteria seems to care about the experience their customers are having!

Also, they have a nice patio in the back. First we were served salads which they should not bother making. Iceberg lettuce, a limp cucumber slice, one olive and a small amount of some bland, unidentifiable dressing. There also seemed to be a bed of cabbage on the bottom. We ordered the Saganaki to start, a breaded sheepcheese slab. It clearly had come from the freezer and wasn't served with any sort of sauce so it was pretty salty. We ate it but it wasn't especially good. Then we split a meat platter. For around 30 euros you get a ton of food. Pork on a skewer that was flavorful if a little dry. Gyro meat which I found to be too dry to eat and laced with large pieces of fat. Tiny little lamb chops that were well cooked but bland, and what I think was a pieces of beef which was very tender. We were both also served large sides of potatoes. Boiled potato with garlic and some thick chips that reminded me of the cafeteria cottage fries of my youth. Unfortunately they were covered in a surprisingly bland garlic oil that made most of them soggy. The have a large selection of beverages including cocktails. Long story short, this place isn't terrible, it's just not good enough to drop 50 euros on dinner for two.

The place is cozy and the atmosphere is the place is really friendly and it's almost always full. But it is of course the good food, we always come for. They have really good starters, we especially enjoy the taramas which is delicious. Pretty much all the main dishes we have tried so far were great. The meat is always fresh and really tender, fish was also always really tasty, the moussaka is really good, etc. In general we really enjoy returning here every time and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys greek cuisine.

Sauce forgot the spelling with a salad and French Fries. Even though it would've been better to sit in their spacious patio, the inside was more appropriate for the first official meeting of the 'rents. The roomy booths allowed me to relax and enabled me to hide my hands underneath the table while nervously gripping them. After I've exhausted all the German words I know (a total of 10) and some long pauses later, we concentrated on choosing our entrees for lunch. I was unbelievably starving (because fact: nervousness increases heart rate!) but I've been told not to worry since the portions here are large. You have extensive options from appetizers to entrees (priced between €12-15) My grilled chicken skewers have perfectly moist chicken breast (simply served with tzatziki sauce on the side) a small house salad and the most golden fried potatoes. If there's one thing you must NOT skip here -- it's the potatoes! Everyone enjoyed their meal since it got quiet for a while. When the bill came, we were offered peach schnapps to cap off our filling lunch. Pssst, a tip for meeting the parents: alcohol definitely takes the edge off, so drink up and say "Prost!" P.S. Nevertheless, the food is good and you're guaranteed to leave satisfied and with a full belly. I do strongly recommend the Oven-baked lamb shanks, simply delicious! Be sure to checkout their lunch menus as well, nice dishes for reasonable prices, although you wouldn't find many Greek 'specialties' there, but they're good nevertheless. I give it a 3/5.
