I have been a long time customer for oil delivery. I have…read morebeen cleaning my boiler myself for the past 20 yrs. I neglected to clean for the past few years so I thought maybe I would start having someone else take care of this annually. I called Countryside to see how much it would cost and was told $189 for a one-time cleaning, or $120 if I agreed to have its cleaned with them every year. I asked all that was involve in the cleaning for $120 and the lady I was talking to read off of a list telling me everything that they would do. I was happy with that price, and it included the entire cleaning so I told her I would have them clean my boiler from now on. The serviceman shows and begins the cleaning. Now while he was in the middle of cleaning my boiler, he comes to me a tells me because the boiler hasn't been cleaned in a few years the price would be higher. I asked how much and he said $189. I wasn't very happy to hear this but now I felt stuck because if I tell him no on the price, he may do something to my boiler. So I agreed. Then he tells me the price will be $189 extra on top of the $120. Now I am really pissed. He explains to me that the ladies who I talk to on the phone don't know what they are talking about when they give the prices. I asked him how long it will take to vacuum the boiler, and he tells me about 30 mins. That is $189 for that 30 mins and I am sure he was done in less time than that. I also told him I bet I'm not the first person be get upset because of the bad pricing I got on the phone, and he agreed that I was not alone. He did call and get me a small discount because he knew I was not happy about this. I still agreed to have him finish because I don't want him to mess up by boiler if I say no. I still figure maybe there was some kind of mistake made, so I submitted a complaint on their website. It's been two weeks now and there is no reply back to my complaint. Maybe the lady who gave me the bad pricing reads the complaints and just deleted it? Is Countryside doing this intentionally to make more money? Be careful if you are dealing with this company.
