On the plus side, you can probably find what you need there - at either end of the spectrum, without breaking the bank. On the minus side, they don't have a ton of elegant, high-quality costumes - many are better-than-Halloween-store quality, but not by much. It's a little like the Tardis - it goes back deeper than it seems. Service is quite nice and rather German - at first a bit curt (whether you can go behind counters) and sporadically superattentive until they're on break. But they're very sweet and helpful and affordable and overall, a good choice in a city without a lot of good choices.

So what did I find? Location: at quiet end of Ku'damm, very close to Halensee S-Bahn station (Ring line) and Ku'damm bus routes, easy walking distance to Westkreuz (RE/S-Bahn) Style: Nicely renovated mansion house in quiet residential street Dining: Affiliated with nearby "Nordwind" neighbourhood restaurant - good authentic German food, well priced Facilities: Relatively modern, with flat-panel TV (albeit small) and WiFi (albeit payable) But ... for me the expectations from regular use of big, chain hotels left this one lacking: - No air conditioning (not a problem in October, but with 10C ambient the bedroom was 19C with NO heating, so suspect summer may be challenging) - Uses old fashioned keys they like you to leave at reception - 1st time I've encountered a throwback like this for several years. I had a bad feeling about this, and when returning lat-ish from drinks with colleagues, the front door was locked (most keycard based establishments can open the door on the keycard), and the problem is exacerbated by its small size meaning there was a single night duty person who took a long time to respond to the night bell Conclusion: Probably works OK in winter if you don't go out in the evening. On the other hand, the niggles from its obsolescent view of some technical facilities will simply irritate the regular business travel who just expects "things to work"

The boutique and individualized details make for a great vibe, and the entire hotel is organic from their towels to their coffee. We booked a Deluxe Loft room for three of us, and our friend was able to have his own little upstairs sleeping area. The beds were extremely comfortable and we were thankful for the ceiling fan to help us sleep in the summer heat. We enjoyed cappuccinos from the front desk area and had lovely conversations with the staff working there. We also paid 15€ per car for parking, which wasn't super convenient, but still better than nothing. Overall we really loved this hotel and would definitely come back or try their hotels in this chain. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

My room…read morehad nice soaps, there was a free candy bar at the entrance, and there was a nice bar at the hotel. The staff was very nice and professional! The breakfast every morning was the best in the area. I highly recommend pre-reserving breakfast during your initial booking of the hotel to save 60% on breakfast meals. I found the hotel to be unique and would there again over the cookie cutter places like Marriot or Hilton.
