One of the most popular meeting places in the city of Munich, it's easy to understand why as it stands at one end of the large Marienplatz square. There are a few traditions that happen here, some that date back to the 16th century. The funnest one, I think is the "wallet washing" where the mayor of Munich puts an empty wallet in the fountain to ensure that the city funds will be filled again next year. Unfortunately, most of the people who pass through the Stachus Rondel are busy rushing to get somewhere else, and few are in the mood to moisten. I long to see a bit of streetwise FKK here.
