I signed up with KBS because they are a Dave Ramsey ELP. This turned out to be a huge mistake. I have never experienced a more frustrating and unprofessional experience with any tax service than I have with these people. To start, they offered a coupon early in the year for their services. It is not clearly stated on their website or in any email I received that this amount was a "down payment". After filling out their questionnaire so they are aware of my tax situation and gaining access to their document system, I had questions about my specific tax situation. Shawn Nelson kept telling me he had to ask someone else on the team and get back to me with an answer. Well, that didn't happen. After three attempts of trying to get an answer, I gave up. Next came the phone calls to "hurry up" and upload my tax documents...WHY? We have until July 15th and I still haven't gotten any answers to my tax questions yet! KBS began complaining that they couldn't reach me by phone, despite the fact that I emailed them on several occasions that I work in a classified area and I am without my cell phone all day. Then after calling Shawn Nelson several times in a week, he hands me off to Syth Howell. In a poor attempt to answer my question about filing my business privilege tax return, Syth says I must file it on my own. Still didn't answer my question and contradicts what Shawn Nelson told me which was KBS would take care of the business tax filing for me, as they should. Syth then complains that he has not received any of my tax documents and can't answer my tax questions without it. WOW, this is horrible customer service! I made several attempts to call Syth by phone and left several voice messages to have them unreturned. I finally get an email on 04/10 from Syth saying that if I am unhappy with their services and feel the relationship cannot be "repaired", they will give me a full refund to date. So I replied to his email stating I wanted a full refund. Syth replies that he has now handed me off to the "owner" Nick Knapp and I should be receiving a phone call from Nick.
I took the initiative to call Nick rather than sit and wait for a phone call that may never come according to their track record. Nick was apologetic at first, but when I stated that Syth offered a full refund to date and that is what I wanted, Nick's tone changed and decided to take a "bully" approach which did not end well for him. Nick stated that with the time his people spent preparing my account, there are no refunds. He then informs me that the money I paid with their coupon was a "down payment" for my taxes. This really upset me since they had my questionnaire for 2 months and never told me what my total tax preparation fees were going to be. Nick then precedes to tell me that since there are no refunds, I am "stuck" with them doing my taxes. I let him know that I am never "stuck" in any situation and reminded him that Syth offered a full refund. Nick states that Syth was out of line and broke company policy by telling me that and said there are no refunds. So Nick has an employee he hired, that took it upon himself to break company policy by offering a refund and this is my problem how? At this point I am furious and fed up with Nick. I let him know that I will not be using his services and I will get my money back when I file a dispute with my credit card company send them a copy of Syth's refund email. Nick was angry and realized he could bully me any further and told me to do what I felt I needed to do.
So folks, this is the service that you can expect from Knapp Business Solutions where you have a company owner who doesn't train their employees about company policy and refuses to honor an offered full refund. No thanks, I will take my business elsewhere. read more
