Aragon Veterinary Clinic - Healthy girl! Thank you Aragon Vet clinic!

Aragon Veterinary Clinic

To clarify my original post, this is one of the best Vet clinics I have used, and continue to use…read more Dr. Kmak treats not only the patient, but the human as well. She knows that the lives of pets and their humans are intertwined and she goes above and beyond to make sure all are treated!

After my cat spent the night in the ER for facial trauma, we were told to see her regular vet first…read morething that morning for dental X-rays. I called Aragon as soon as they opened. The front desk said a doctor needed to review her ER records before scheduling her and promised a callback within two hours. I arranged for the records to be sent over and followed up twice. Three weeks later, I still haven't heard a word. With no direction from Aragon, I started calling other veterinary practices. Thankfully, one that had never seen my cat before understood the urgency and made room for her that morning. She ended up needing surgery and was taken in within the hour. The dental X-rays revealed a fractured tooth, but also something completely unrelated to her injury--a retained root from an extraction Aragon had performed more than two years earlier. When Aragon removed that tooth, they recommended doing it while she was awake, without anesthesia. I was a first-time cat owner and trusted their judgment. No dental X-rays were taken afterward to make sure the extraction was complete. So my cat had another extraction site to heal from, and I'll never know whether that root had caused discomfort this whole time. What makes this worse is that after three years as a patient at Aragon, they couldn't even return a call when she needed help--it's just wrong. For those wondering about Aragon more generally, I'd probably limit my expectations to routine checkups and vaccinations. Aragon is often recommended for being affordable, but this experience made me reconsider. For example, I later learned Aragon does not have dental X-ray capability. Had I not found another vet with that equipment in-house, I would have spent substantially more on emergency care at SAGE or Omega's San Francisco location (because their closer San Mateo hospital lacked dental X-rays too). If you're trying to get a sense of their pricing, I paid $414 for a urinalysis, including urine collection. Also worth noting, results are communicated verbally, and copies of reports aren't routinely provided, if that's something that matters to you. Other reviewers have described the front desk as rude. I just thought they seemed like unhappy people, always annoyed for whatever reason. I could overlook that, but not the lack of response when my cat urgently needed care. I've since transferred my cat to the practice that performed her surgery. It's unfortunate that it took an emergency to realize I couldn't count on our vet of three years, but I'm grateful to have found one that went out of its way to accommodate a new patient, treated her with such care, and got her into surgery that same day. They also offer more services in-house and greater availability at comparable prices. That's the kind of care every pet deserves.

The experience with VCA was the best in years!!! I initially called in to get an urgent care…read moreappointment for my dog. First, the receptionist did not see any opening at her site but was so kind to see if there is any opening in another side. She even called me back (w/o being asked) if I want to take over the spot that just came up! Then, Dr Becker... I have not seen the Dr. who examined our difficult dog as thoroughly as Dr. Becker in years and explained her observations and potential treatments we can choose from. She put no pressure to us but helped us select what options we would like to go. Finally, the technician who provided the final shot to our dog was super friendly and communicative. From the start to end, they are all super kind, efficient and effective at their work. Cannot thank them more...

She's incredibly smart, compassionate, and genuinely cares about the animals she treats. Even though she's very busy, she always makes herself available and takes the time to listen and make sure I feel comfortable with what's being recommended for our little pup. I really appreciate that she's open to feedback and easy to talk to. I trust her advice and also think she's just a really cool person. The office staff is also great. They're kind, friendly, and usually try to to get back to me quickly. I've only met one of the other vets, Dr. Becker, but she was also fantastic. Highly recommend!

We have brought our dog here since she was 10 weeks old…read more The clinic handles her with a lot of care and has been patient with all our questions as first-time dog parents. I've been going to this pet clinic for over 15 years with multiple pets. I just rescued a dog named…read moreSofie who is about 3 1/2 years old. I've taken her too many places to get her anal glands, excreted,, and this was the first place that they told me that I should sedate her with trazodone and gabapentin before I brought her in. To be honest with you, the Vet tech was quite rude. I was pretty taken a back, considering I've taken her to many other places, and they just put a small muzzle on her and extract her with no problem. Their rebuttal, was that they had a different philosophy and that if I didn't sedate her that doing the extraction could injure her. I laughed because I had a Chihuahua and they muzzled my Chihuahua six months ago. So they are being pretty hypocritical. Basically I'm upset because I had been a loyal client for over 15 years with multiple pets, and since I disagreed with their tactics of sedating my dog before an anal gland excretion... They thought it would be best if I'd go somewhere else. They also said that sofie had deep anxiety and was in a state of fear. Sofie was uncomfortable, but so are most dogs going to the vet. I've never had this problem with this vet team. But, the dynamics have changed and Dr.G would rather drug my dog than put a muzzle on her. Yet.. they felt good putting a muzzle on my 17 year old Chihuahua 6 months ago. Definitely going somewhere else where the veterinarian team are more confident in their skills, professional and know how to communicate. They definitely have a lack of loyalty.

Their x‑ray machine happened to be down, and they suggested urgent care because they suspected a heart issue. Instead, I decided to take a chance and bring Gunner to Indy's Place -- and I'm so thankful I did. Maddy at the front desk was professional, kind, and able to get us in quickly. From the moment we walked in, the compassion and professionalism of the entire staff were obvious. Dr. Z examined Gunner, ran the necessary tests, and completed the x‑ray. He listened carefully to my concerns and talked through what would be best for Gunner. What truly stood out was that Dr. Z personally called me around 8:30 that same evening to check on Gunner. In all my years at my previous vet, I never once received a follow‑up call like that. It showed how deeply he cares for his patients. Fast forward two weeks -- after starting the medication Dr. Z prescribed, Gunner is feeling like himself again. He still has heart issues, but at 12 years old, we're grateful to see him comfortable, happy, and back to his sweet self. If you're searching for a new vet, RUN, don't walk, to Indy's Place Pet Hospital in Foster City. They're located in the back area of the Marlin Cove Shopping Center -- you'll need to turn in where deliveries are made -- and the hospital is clearly marked with plenty of parking. We are forever grateful to Dr. Z for helping Gunner when he was in a serious state. Indy's Place will be our veterinary home from now on.

**PLEASE bring your pet here. **…read more I came here during an emergency when my dog, Maya (15), suddenly collapsed. I was scared, and so was she. From the moment we walked in, we were met with so much kindness and compassion. Maria and Kara greeted us at the front desk and were both incredibly sweet. I explained that my sweet Maya, a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix, is very anxious around strangers. They immediately brought us back to a room, got us settled, and allowed me to hold my baby while they took care of the paperwork. That small gesture meant so much to both of us. Everyone who came in to check on Maya was gentle and compassionate. When they needed to take her to the back, they reassured us that she was doing okay and made sure to check in with us and provide updates about every 30 minutes or so. After each procedure, they would bring Maya back to me so I could hold her. They understood that being with me helped her feel safe and at ease, and I will never forget that. Dr. Hart was incredibly kind and patient. She answered all of our questions and took the extra time to explain everything because she could see how worried I was about Maya. More importantly, she understood that my priority was not pursuing curative treatment at all costs, but making decisions based on Maya's **quality of life**. She truly listened to me, respected what I wanted for my baby, and helped ease some of the fear and uncertainty I was feeling. I cannot express enough gratitude for the love, compassion, and dignity they showed Maya. During one of the most frightening and emotional moments for us, they made us feel heard, cared for, and safe. And Kara was absolutely wonderful. Before we left, she took the time to answer all of my questions, provide education, and make sure I understood everything. She was so warm and comforting that she truly made me feel at home. I will forever be grateful to Maria, Kara, Dr. Hart, and the entire team for the love and care they provided to my Maya. Thank you for treating her not just like a patient, but like the precious member of our family that she is.

My dog Fitz was brought to Lenity on 8/14/26 with bloat, and I don't…read moredispute that the initial emergency care was necessary. What happened next is why I'm writing this. On 8/16, while Fitz was hospitalized under their monitoring with a nasogastric tube, he chewed through and swallowed a ~7-inch segment of the tube. When the vet discussed this with us, she didn't tell us the tube's length. When we asked about our options, we were told exploratory surgery was the only way to know what was happening inside, and that Fitz "would die" if we took him home -- despite us repeatedly declining exploratory surgery due to his age. Only after we requested his records did we learn the radiology report had stated "Endoscopy is recommended for retrieval of the esophageal foreign body." That recommendation was never disclosed to us when we were asked to make urgent decisions. We were charged $3,500 for the endoscopy plus $679 in anesthesia to retrieve their own tube -- on a $17,841 total bill. My formal written dispute was denied, and the complete records I requested (including incident documentation) were never provided. I've filed a complaint with the California Veterinary Medical Board. Pet owners deserve full disclosure before authorizing treatment. We didn't get it.
