    Today I was on a call with United healthcare for over 30 minutes, with no resolution to the issue…read moreabout which I was calling. I received a postcard a few days ago suggesting that I call about my prescription drug plan coverage. I called during the time specified. I was asked to provide my birthdate and ZIP Code. I was then informed by a recorded voice to stay on the line after talking with an agent so that I could leave a review. The agent was marginally helpful, but I was left curious about how I could have a zero monthly premium and still get coverage. He could not explain that. He also pointed out that had I wanted to change my coverage. I would've needed to do that by the end of October. I am fairly meticulous with insurance and other financial matters, so I asked him how I would've known that date with no notification. After concluding that conversation, I waited online for approximately a minute or two, anticipating the survey would begin. Instead, another agent came on asking what I was calling for, I explained that I was awaiting the electronic survey. She was unfamiliar with that process. After she checked with a few other people, she came back to me and asked if I had any remaining concerns. I explained that I didn't understand how I had zero premium and still had coverage. She then put me on hold for two minutes to do some investigating herself. She then let me know that I could wait a bit longer and talk to a team for that explanation. And then I asked if she could instead forward my comments about United Healthcare and its "system." I told her that I am struck by several things in these interactions: UHC's electronic systems are apparently not reliable; Staff are left holding the bag when UHC's systems fail; their information may be available, but it is neither accessible nor acceptable.

Their OptumRx afilliate is a disaster that they need to spin-off! Given that I require a maintenance med to control seizures and given further, that they refuse to honor 90 day supplies of it, their mere 30-day refills are truly an inadequate guarantor for ensuring a stable life, as every 2 weeks concern of on-going supplies re-surface. Up until 2 mos. ago, this issue was non-existant, yet they choose to do absolutely nothing to resolve it Imposed Controlled-substance restrictions chronically inhibit physicians access to supply data, preventing any timely orderring of this essential medication that I cannot be without for more than 2 days B4 becoming "Status-elipiticus".(Continuious, substantial and prolonged seizures.) Their antiquated policies impede physicians' abilities and imperil patient treatment. They are wholly inadequate, uncaring, and pose a threat to patient safety, all in the name of the "Almighty Dollar, as their concern is largely superficial, and their ability to "right" a "wrong" severely lacking in sincereity.
