The cafe is located on the 4th floor of Cricoteka, the Centre for the Documentation of the Art of Tadeusz Kantor, a Polish painter, assemblage and Happenings artist, set designer and theatre director. In other words, a swiss-army knife of creativity. The museum itself is a monumental architectural treat by itself. To best describe it, I'll refer to folks at ArchDaily: "Cricoteka building has a form of two intersecting arches made of spatial reinforced concrete steel truss based on two shafts. The third pillar is a steel, double-rocker. The branch support truss's given implementing raise equal to their constant deflection under load and utility. Due to the complex geometry and other extensions, the raise values of the executive are different, which was included in the design of the cross.". What does this all mean in layman's terms? Prepare to be stunned and taken aback by finding such a modern building over imposed over an older structure. The reflecting mirror ceiling adds another unexpected level to this. Ok, back to the cafe part... The coffee shop is a nicely laid out space, with top-to-ceiling glass windows, however, obstructed by the metal facade of the Cricoteka. You'll find a wide selection of sweet & savory options, including a few solid vegan options, and plenty of cold & hot beverage choices. I played it pretty safe and just got a cappuccino with some coconut-date chocolate balls, and they were a perfect combo. I must add, that when I do reflect back upon at my cafe visit (I did come back a few weeks later), my emotions revolve 100% around the space it occupies. Besides visiting the Cricoteka, there's also plenty of other culinary options around Nadwiślańska street, like Good Lood (artisanal ice-cream), Nadwiślanska Restro & Vodka Bar (self-explanatory), Swoją Drogą (brunch + books) or some great retail shops like Pan Tu Nie Stał (my fav Polish clothing store: https://www.yelp.com/biz/pan-tu-nie-sta%C5%82-krak%C3%B3w-2) or Rzeczy Same (their sister store focusing on Polish design).

The intimate atmosphere was memorable and we would return when in Krakow next. I appreciated that the coffee was drinkable immediately.
