We had a fantastic experience working with Jim and Donna Klinge of Klinge Realty Group during the purchase of our new home in Oceanside, CA. Although they were also the seller's agents, they represented us as buyers with fairness, transparency, and integrity throughout the entire process. Their deep expertise in the North San Diego County market was evident from the start. Jim and Donna handled negotiations with professionalism, tact, and wisdom--ensuring that both parties felt heard and respected. We truly felt that our interests were being represented every step of the way. Beyond the transaction, they connected us with excellent local contractors to help us make improvements to our new home. Their support extended well past closing, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. We highly recommend Klinge Realty Group to anyone looking to buy or sell a home in the area. You'll be in very capable and caring hands. read more

My wife and I highly recommend Jim and Donna Klinge of the Klinge Reality Group to help you find a new home. We recently moved to Southern California from the San Francisco Bay Area. Our agents in the Bay Area recommended Jim and Donna to us. Even before we sold our home in Bay Area, Jim helped us explore different areas in So Cal. They worked very closely with us to find a home in Carlsbad. We love our new home and neighborhood. Jim and Donna have great connections with local business for financing, flooring, painting, kitchen upgrades, etc, etc. They gave us good design and upgrade advice / ideas and managed all the renovation / upgrade logistics for us so we could focus on the move. They were patient and understanding when we had questions or concerns about the negotiation, closing, and renovation. Jim and Donna are a good team, and I recommend that you contact them if you are in the market for a new home. read more

We recently decided after 33 years to relocate from San Diego area to WA state to be closer to many family members. This was a complicated move involving purchasing a home and selling a home. Many flights back and forth. Jim & Donna Klinge were the highly recommended realtors we choose to sell our home in Ocean Hills. They were honest, knowledgeable, resourceful, experienced, available and kind. They are true professionals. Jim and Donna have different strengths that truly complement each other and the process. We followed their advice and are glad we did as our home sold in 6 days and closed in 14 days. We are so grateful that we choose them to represent our sale and highly recommend them to anyone looking to sell a home. Thank You so much! read more

I have worked with Jim and Donna Klinge with Klinge Realty Group several times over the last few years. They are very knowledgeable and professional. Whether you are buying or selling, they will guide you through the whole process. They have a successful approach to selling your home from staging to open houses to negotiating with realtors to get the best contract. My condo in Rancho Bernardo had 5 offers in 4 days and closed in just 14 days. I highly recommend Jim and Donna Klinge for all of your real estate needs and would definitely work with them again in the future. read more

Jim and Donna were fantastic! Jim understanding my needs, recommending potential places, pointing out the pros and cons of each property was invaluable. Then when the offer was accepted Donna's organized guidance through the inspections, paperwork etc made the whole process seem effortless. So grateful that I had them on my side! read more

It was such a pleasure working with Jim and Donna Klinge of Klinge Realty Group! They have helped my family buy and sell so many homes over the years. Jim really listened to our vision of what we were looking for in our first home, and gave us honest reviews of every property we toured, helping us make a great choice that not only checked our boxes but had great resale value. We really trusted his advice and valued his experience. Donna was an all star when it came to navigating the immediate renovations needed and helped us every step of the way once our offer was accepted. Both Jim and Donna helped us immensely with negotiation, all of the paperwork, and competing in a competitive market. We wouldn't have gotten our home without them! read more

We have known Jim & Donna Klinge for over a dozen years, having met them in Carlsbad where our children went to the same school. As long time North County residents, it was a no- brainer for us to have the Klinges be our eyes and ears for San Diego real estate in general and North County in particular. As my military career caused our family to move all over the country and overseas to Asia, Europe and the Pacific, we trusted Jim and Donna to help keep our house in Carlsbad rented with reliable and respectful tenants for over 10 years. Naturally, when the time came to sell our beloved Carlsbad home to pursue a rural lifestyle in retirement out of California, we could think of no better team to represent us than Jim and Donna. They immediately went to work to update our house built in 2004 to current-day standards and trends -- in 2 short months they transformed it into a literal modern-day masterpiece. We trusted their judgement implicitly and followed 100% of their recommended changes. When our house finally came on the market, there was a blizzard of serious interest, we had multiple offers by the third day and it sold in just 5 days after a frenzied bidding war for 20% above our asking price! The investment we made in upgrades recommended by Jim and Donna yielded a 4-fold return, in the process setting a new high water mark for a house sold in our community. In our view, there are no better real estate professionals in all of San Diego than Jim and Donna Klinge. Buying or selling, you must run and beg Jim and Donna Klinge to represent you! Our family will never forget Jim, Donna, and their whole team at Compass -- we are forever grateful to them. read more

Donna and Jim and their team are amazing! I can't recommend them highly enough! Jim helped us get our offer accepted against multiple other bids. The seller wanted a shortened escrow and Donna worked her magic to get everything done in time, including having several vendors produce repair estimates at very short notice. Donna was then able to negotiate a credit from the seller using those estimates. After close of escrow, Donna continued to work for us by making sure we had all the vendors/contractors needed to fix up the house before move in. Her vendor list is packed with dependable, high-quality contractors. read more

This review is about my second experience with Klinge Realty Group. My first was in 2014, and I wrote a detailed Yelp review back then which is still on this site. We sold our San Marcos house back then with Klinge Realty as our realtors and moved to Portland, OR. I didn't think we'd have the opportunity to work with them a second time, but here we are. My elderly mother, who lived in Lake San Marcos, passed away a couple months ago and we found ourselves needing to put her house on the market, as well as deal with all of the personal property she had amassed over the decades, plus her car. Feeling overwhelmed over suddenly thrust into administering her trust, seeing to her funeral, etc., from a different state, one thing my husband and I were confident about: we already knew the real estate agents we wanted to work with. There wasn't even a single thought of going to someone else for this. While we were still in San Marcos, fresh with grief, we had Jim and Donna come by to give us a rundown of what they could do for us. Mom had let so many things go in the 13 years since Dad had passed, and the house was in no shape to be put on the market in that condition. So Donna hit the ground running, finding incredible estate sales folks who not only took care of having a 2 day estate sale, but also handled the sale of Mom's car, a task I was dreading. After the sale they emptied the house of all unsold items. Donna and Lisa also found a small move shipper who could get the items that had significant sentimental value to us, and got those pieces of furniture, décor and paintings delivered to us in very good condition at what I thought was a very fair price. Now that the house was empty, Donna called on her portfolio of vendors who descended en masse to whip the house into sellable shape, ending with her favorite stagers who made the house look fabulous. All of the above was accomplished in about 45 days from the day we signed with Klinge Realty, and the house went on the market. This is a time of volatility and uncertainty in the housing market, even in "hotter than hot" San Diego County. Interest rates are climbing which naturally make prospective buyers nervous. Yet because of Jim's exceptional marketing strategies we still managed to get multiple offers within five days of the house hitting the market, with the highest being well over asking, with a 14-day escrow. We were over the moon. But the saga doesn't stop there. Buyers' house inspection revealed a lot of hidden issues, and we had about a week to resolve those so buyers could remove that contingency. We were astounded that Donna's vendors got everything done in time for escrow to close on time! We also feel all charges were more than fair for the quality of work that was done. Somehow they managed to keep a stressed, grieving client from completely losing her mind. TL;DR, I would not hesitate to recommend Klinge Realty Group to anyone in the San Diego area, whether you're a buyer or a seller. Highly recommend Jim's blog, bubbleinfo.com, which is how we found him in the first place. read more

We recently used the Klinge Realty Group to sell our home and are thankful we did! Our home is unique and we needed the right team to get it done. This year has been difficult on our family, mainly due to having to sell our home. Thankfully we knew God had a plan for us and working with the Klinge team was a key part of it. It was an obvious decision to work with them again after such an amazing experience when purchasing the same home we needed to sell. The challenge was, how will we do this in so little time with so much going on? Jim and Donna held our hand every step of the way. Whenever an unexpected issue arose they found and provided a solution. Never once did we feel pressured to make a decision and the Klinges were always reassuring after providing the information that the decision was ours to make. Despite the curve balls, they never panicked and exemplified the "can do" attitude, making us feel optimistic and taken care of. Their expertise and professionalism was superb. But of all the reasons to work with the Klinges, the most impactful and valuable is their compassion and genuine care for their clients. We pray that we can one day purchase our forever home and you better believe that Jim and Donna will be representing us - as long as they will have us of course. Thank you again Klinge team! Your execution, experience, and care are unmatched. read more

We were very apprehensive about selling a rental property. We haven't sold any home in over 20 years. I reached out to friends and neighbors, and they recommended Jim and Donna Klinge. I was nervous, not knowing what to expect. Jim came by, calm, collected and professional. No pushing, no hard sell, no exaggerated expectations. Once the process started, Donna held my hand, answered every question, dealt with all the issues so I didn't have to....all in all, I cannot say enough about the service, the warmth and the ease of working with Jim and Donna. I highly recommend them. read more

Our journey with Jim & Donna started back in 2016, when we purchased our dream home in La Jolla. From start to finish, and many in-betweens, they were there for us every step of the way. Added humor was a bonus, too! Fast forward to 2022...we didn't hesitate to reach out to Jim & Donna when it was time to sell. Being in a different state would typically have it's challenges, but not with them. In less than a week, it was ready to be listed. Even better, there were multiple offers and they ended up selling our home well over asking price. These two know the market well and are great at what they do. We first found Jim through his blog at bubbleinfo.com, which really showcased his knowledge of SoCal real estate. Since then we've done three transactions with Jim and Donna, and they are an incredible full service agency, with Jim's deep market insight and Donna's deft contract and project management. We trust them implicitly in their analysis and strategy, which is based on years of experience. They're always available and on top of things, and we strongly recommend them to anyone. read more

Jim and Donna helped us navigate an offer on a home during a competitive sellers market. My husband and I had a tricky situation going on with the sale of our last home which could have affected us purchasing our new home, but Jim and Donna assured us we would be fine and helped us through the process step by step. Additionally, they have been proactive in helping me with post-purchase questions and providing recommendations on service professionals. Something they are not obligated to do, but go the extra mile. 5 star service! read more

We were so blessed to work with Jim and Donna Selling our Oceanside home, they literally made the entire process so easy and I cannot recommend them enough! We unfortunately started with a different agent, and it did not work out, Jim and Donna stepped right in and made us feel so comfortable and confident and got us top dollar, and even a bidding war on our home! We were in contract in less than a week of our house being listed. If you have a house to sell or you know someone who does do yourself a favor and go right to the BEST! My husband and I purchased our first home in 2020 thanks to Jim and Donna. For a first time buyer, or even an experienced buyer, it can be a very daunting process with so many unknowns , especially with the highly competitive market in North County oh and a pandemic! I felt completely at ease during this process as they handled everything.....even helped us get prequalified for a loan with our lender which we obviously needed very quickly to make offers. Nearly 6 months later, I'm still shocked we got in our home (single story mind you , a great investment as Jim would say haha) but we did thanks to Jim and Donna. They are true professionals , first class service all the way!! Jim aggressively works hard to get you into your dream home. He has years of experience and is going to tell you the honest truth. You know the man loves what he does. Donna oversees everything on the back end. She manages everything from setting up the property inspection to arranging for all the bids on potential home repairs and so much more! Her attention to detail is incredible. She makes sure nothing slips through the cracks! I kept repeating to my husband during this process, " I feel so lucky we get to work with them!" Do yourself a favor and call them when you sell or buy your next property. Don't call up your friend who so happens to have a real estate license. There is sooooooo much that goes into buying a home. The Klinge's make the experience pleasantly easy, exciting and fun! They will carefully take care of ALL your needs! Thank you J&D! read more

I used the Klinge Realty Group to purchase my North County San Diego home. I would highly recommend using them for any real estate transaction. The group mainly consists of a husband and wife combo that have complimentary skills. Each team member effectively handles a different phase of the transaction. Communication and paperwork were extremely timely, accurate, and efficient. They were always available for advice, walk-throughs, and vendor recommendations. In fact, they continued to check up on our satisfaction a year later. They are local experts and have extensive knowledge about the neighborhoods in North County San Diego. Purchasing a home is stressful and the Klinge's helped smooth out that process for me. When I sell or purchase again, I have no doubt that Jim and Donna will be the only people I call. read more

My immediate and extended family has worked with Jim and Donna for multiple transactions (both purchase and sales), and we can't recommend them enough. Our most recent experience of selling really blew us away, from coordinating and researching contractors for repairs, staging, communicating with us on all the details, working through some tricky tax implications, etc. It was one of the most professional and thorough experiences from start to finish. We first encountered Jim back in 2010 when we were looking to move from Pismo Beach, CA to to San Diego area. We had been having a difficult time finding (1) finding a realtor and (2) being able to see a home since we were so far away. Then we found Jim. He made the process really easy - he was able to take incredible video tours of the homes and it was as if we were there touring the homes ourselves. once we found homes we really liked, we took a trip to see it in person. One of the things we really liked about Jim was that he was honest with us about the homes and advised us weather a home was a good buy or not. He was not just out to quickly sell us a house just to make a commission. He really cared about ensuring we found the right one. Flash forward to 2017, we needed to sell our home to move to Northern CA. It was not even a question who we would use as our realtor. Jim once again really made the going through the process as painless as possible. He and Donna had a lot of great advice that helped us prepare the house for sale before we listed. They really manged the steps, process and timelines to ensure we were prepared and ready to be listed. They did an amazing job getting the house listed, managing the open houses, and managing the showings. They are really though and ensure everything is done right. Our house was only one the market a very short time and we were already getting offers as soon as we listed. They also managed the negotiation and closing process incredibly well. We felt really lucky to have them on our side helping to get us to closing and sale. We can't thank them enough for all their hard work. Jim and Donna are skilled, very experienced, kind, honest, generous, and overall really wonderful. We highly recommend them, you cannot find a better reality team then them! read more

Jim and Donna are easily the best realtors we've ever worked with! They make a great team and their knowledge, experience, and attentiveness are evident during every step in the process. We relocated from Chicago and they went above and beyond in helping us manage any and all logistical issues that came up prior to us moving in. They made our experience as easy and stress-free as a long distance move can be. I can't say enough good things about them and would highly recommend them to anyone! read more

I moved to Encinitas (from Chicago) about a year ago and rented a house. The market seemed peculiar and buying struck me as a bad idea. Over the year, I spent many a happy hour reading Jim's insightful and witty blog posts on www.bubbleinfo.com. "Here's a guy that knows the market," I thought to myself, "Here's a guy I want to buy a house with." By the time our lease was up for renewal, I was feeling a little better about the market and shot Jim an email. I am tremendously happy that I did. Jim showed us around homes and was incredibly honest with us. He knew the areas we were looking at, had in-depth information about the houses we were looking at and his expert commentary made the tough decisions much easier. We ended up buying what is, in my opinion, the perfect little house for our family. Jim got us a great deal and made the whole purchase process a breeze. Jim's blog made it feel like I knew him from the moment I met him but working with Jim has made him feel like a friend. read more

If you're searching for an agent to represent you in North SD County look no further than Jim Klinge. He represented us for the purchase of our home in Encinitas and we couldn't have been happier from start to finish. Jim's no nonsense approach to the real estate market is a refreshing change from all the rosy fluff and BS spewed by 95% of industry participants - and it will save you money. In good markets and bad you need someone who knows the market backwards and will call it like he sees it . You need someone who is happy to work with you for as long as it takes to get the job done. For me It's hard not to see that the whole system is a minefield of conflicts of interest - but we never once felt pressure to make a move that wasn't in our interest. In the end it took almost a year to find our home, and Jim worked tirelessly throughout. And apart from the deal we eventually made, the best part was we actually had a pretty good time doing it. read more

Klinge Realty has represented us as buyers in 2013 and as sellers plus buyers most recently in 2021. In this hyper competitive market, Jim was still able to sell our house AND secure a contingent offer for our new home. This is no easy task to manage when you consider that contingent offers are almost unheard of in the current market environment. On New Year's Eve, we had a signed purchase contract for our new home and after 10 days we accepted an offer for 100k over list price. Before hitting the open market, Donna was able to secure a small army of ready to go contractors to get our house tuned up and ready for showings. Donna was there every step of the way, managing both the sale of our house and the purchase of the new one and she made it look effortless. We have been devoted readers of Jim's blog, bubbleinfo.com, since the early 2000's and his motto "Get good help!" cannot be overstated. We'll do one better....."Get the best help!". read more

My husband and I used Klinge Realty to purchase a home in Escondido. Jim, Kayla and Donna were instrumental in helping us find the right house (Jim knows overpriced turkeys and how to avoid them) and negotiate an equitable deal (sellers didn't have to "give it away" and we didn't have to sacrifice all our savings for the rest of our lives!). Through the entire process, Jim and his team were there to answer any questions, which we had many, and concerns, which we also had many. It was very, very helpful to know that we were not alone and we always had a lifeline with Klinge Realty! Thank you, Jim, Donna and Kayla! We love our new house!!! read more

About four years ago, my husband and I started the search for a getaway condo in the San Diego North County Coastal area. I found Jim Klinge through his popular and wildly entertaining blog http://bubbleinfo.com and I knew from his highly informed, tell-it-like-it-is style, that he was the realtor for me. Jim started showing us condos and telling us right off the bat, "This one is too expensive. It'll be $100,000 lower by next year!" Who ever met a realtor who didn't try to sell you a house?!? As we continued to view properties, Jim would take the time to point out the positives AND the negatives and comment on pricing. I've bought and sold a number of houses in my life and I've never met a realtor as ethical, honest and experienced as Jim. (It's a bonus that he has a wicked sense of humor.) Thanks to Jim, we decided to wait, then look, then wait, then look, then wait...well you get the idea. Lucky for us we weren't in a rush and lucky for Jim he was patient! Fast forward four years. By this time, we had saved a little money and the condo had morphed into a little house. (And the condo that we first looked at WAS $100,000 lower!) Eventually, after some painful false starts with short sales, we found a property that worked and it was thanks to Jim's superb negotiation skills that the deal got done. Then Donna Klinge, Jim's amazing wife, kicked in to high gear. Between the two of them, they closed the deal with a level of professionalism and efficiency that seems hard to imagine in the real estate business, and then - GET THIS - stayed around AFTER the sale to help us fix up the property with their army of expert contractors. Honestly, I don't know which is better - an ethical, experienced team of real estate professionals who will help you find and close on a great deal you will enjoy hunting for every step of the way or an ethical experienced team of real estate professionals who excel at post-sale customer service. Lucky for us, we didn't have to choose. Jim and Donna Klinge and their team are the total package and I can't imagine using anyone else if you're looking to buy a house in San Diego. read more

I just closed escrow on a sale that Jim facilitated. I definitely would NOT want to try to do this without good help, and Klinge Realty is the best in town! (Any town, for that matter.) From determining the initial list price, to preparing the mountain of paperwork, to negotiating with the buyers on contingencies, all the way through to getting the deal closed on time - Jim and his family business (wife Donna runs the show behind the scenes and daughter Kayla is helping out up front) have been awesome. They were very attentive, responsive, and personable throughout the month-long process. Oh yeah, about that - I got relocated to Silicon Valley by my company and had to get a quick sale. Jim got a full-price offer signed a mere five days after listing, on the same day as the open house. He really nailed the list price, obviously! And because I was in a hurry to get out, Jim also arranged for a short 30-day escrow - and got it closed on time. Oh, and we didn't "give it away" - I still made a decent profit on the sale after six years of ownership. Thanks Jim! One final thing - on the final day of escrow, Jim got word that a package got delivered to our empty house. He drove down there (30 miles) to pick it up and got it in the mail the next day, overnight to our new home. Talk about full-service! If you want the best help you can get with either buying or selling, you can stop searching right now - you've found it! read more

We recently relocated to Carlsbad from North Carolina, and found a wonderful home thanks to Klinge Realty. We have three young children, and travelling to the west coast to look at properties wasn't practical for us. Luckily I found Jim to be our realtor, and he worked around the clock to get us into the right home. Jim joked that he was running a 24 hour reality, since we would often be exchanging emails and comparing notes in the wee hours. Jim has a great talent for sizing up a home, and gave me honest and no-nonense advice on properties. Jim provided narrated videos of homes we were interested in, which gave us the feeling of being there ourselves. We could watch these videos multiple times to refresh our memory on a property and see details we may have missed. We purchased a 5 bedroom home without seeing it first hand, but I was totally confident in the choice thanks to Jim. Excellent service and attention to detail continued through the inspection, closing, and even afterwards! Donna was exceptional in guiding us through the close, and was always quick to respond to every question. Donna really went above and beyond by helping us arrange contractors to do work on the home, collecting our mail, and even arranging for a generous welcome package. We can't recommend Klinge Realty enough, and encourage anyone buying or selling to see how they can help you. read more

I'm updating my review based on Jim's comment. My review is NOT fraud. You showed my house and this is my experience from interacting personally with you. There are many realtors in the area who are kind and were outstanding to interact with while they showed my house. On this day, you were rude. And yes, I also left a negative review for Peter B because he treated my husband and me horribly and was unprofessional when he was the realtor trying to sell our house. My reviews are based on my own personal and first-hand experience with a business. read more

Jim and Donna Klinge made the sale of our condo extraordinarily easy. They know the market and gave us sound advice backed by details and very considerable experience, reflected both in the initial pricing and subsequent negotiations. They work together as a team and are always available to talk. I had been reading bubbleinfo.com for years. By checking out his blog and seeing Jim on the videos I thought I knew a lot about him before I ever met him. My wife wanted a bigger house. You might have heard - happy wife, happy life. So, before I knew it, we were searching the Internet and driving around the Del Mar area. We wanted to know the market before we started looking seriously. We interviewed a boatload of realtors. Jim was the most knowledgeable by far. But knowledge doesn't equal integrity. We went with Jim. Jim showed trustworthiness at every turn. As you might have noticed, it is a sellers market right now in North County Coastal San Diego. But, we made low offers on a few houses. We were looking for a deal. Here is a real treat. A realtor that places your interests before his own. In fact, Jim recommended we go for a house that was a million dollars less than the highest priced house we made an offer on. Didn't phase Jim the least. We ended up buying the house that Jim thought was the best value for the money. (And we saved a ton of money by not being "sold" on much more expensive homes). At every step Jim gave us viewpoints and angles that were fresh and right on point. We got a great deal. Jim helped us every step of the way, including after we bought the house. I recommend Jim based on his service, honesty, judgment and experience. What you see on his videos is what you get. Only more. Good old fashioned unsweetened unvarnished truth. Just the way that I want it. read more

Most people now think - Who even needs a Realtor? With all the internet sites now available, it's easy to find listings and get market pricing. I'm good at finding things on the 'net, and the last thing I need is someone sending me listings and rushing me to make a purchase. I can do it all myself." I used to agree with this view, before I met and started working with Jim Klinge. Jim has sold 2 houses for me, and helped me buy a third over a period of 10 years. I recommend him 100%, and have referred him to a number of friends and family. You're going to be paying the same commission to any Realtor you work with, so the best thing you can do is get the very best Realtor in the market to help you. In north San Diego County, Jim Klinge is that guy. If you are buying, here's what Jim and his team bring to the table - honesty, expertise in the north San Diego market, expertise in negotiation. If you fall in love with a house, he'll make sure you get it. And he won't try to talk you into something you don't like, or encourage you to overpay. He'll make sure you have quality inspectors check things out, so you won't buy a lemon. Once you've purchased, Jim knows the people who can help you make your new home the way you want it to be. I've personally used his referrals for contractors, painters, flooring, and plumbing, and have been 100% satisfied. His relationships with these companies and contractors have existed for decades, so you can be sure that the people doing the work are going to make sure you are satisfied. (Pricing was discounted as well, but the key thing is the reliability and quality of the work) If you are selling, here's what you'll get - expert pricing, top quality staging, digital marketing and referrals, contract negotiation, and most importantly, someone in house (his wife Donna) who makes sure all the Is are dotted and Ts are crossed. Jim has sold two of my houses, and in both cases, went above and beyond to make sure nothing funky happened at the end of the deal. As a seller, it's a hell of a long time from an accepted offer to the close of escrow, and the process can be trying. Donna makes sure everything is in order, and the deal closes on time. Not only do you get the outcome you want (sold house for a fair price), but the experience itself is as good as can be expected. Selling your home is stressful, and you want someone there you can trust to help you thru it. I've twice opted to work with Jim, and if I choose to sell again, I wouldn't think of working with anyone else. read more

Klinge Realty is a top notch operation and I would not hesitate to recommend them. My wife and I originally started off working with Jim about a year plus a few months ago, around Feb 2009. We were just getting a feel for the market as we wanted to sell our 2 BR/2 Bath condo and buy a house for us and our two kids. Jim was really honest with us and told us the issue wouldn't be in selling our place (that would be the easy part), but finding a decent place to buy. He was right. After 2 trips out with Jim there was just nothing reasonable for us on the market. So we waited and got back in touch with him in November as the market seemed to be better. Jim was pretty busy at the time, so he had us work with one of his agents, Richard Morgan. Richard represented Klinge Realty well and had the same no nonsense attitude that Jim has. If we liked a place but Richard saw some negatives we were overlooking, he'd tell us. Well, it took 5 months, but we just moved this past week. Klinge Realty was terrific thru the whole process. This is a really complex market right now and I cannot imagine having worked with anyone besides Richard and the rest of the team at Klinge Realty. I could write a book on all the different issues that came up during the process. I believe we were steered in the right direction at each turn. Anyway, if you are looking for an agent, do not hesitate to work with the team that Klinge has put together. read more

In our 17 years of marriage, my husband Gene and I have bought and sold four homes. We have been fortunate to have had good real estate agents in most of our transactions, but only two of the four agents would I consider to be masters of their trade, Jim Klinge being the most recent. Gene had found Jim's blog, bubbleinfo.com, a few months after buying our house in San Marcos in 2007, about a year after the bubble had burst and real estate values were plummeting. On the blog readers reap the benefit of Jim's experience and wisdom, and reading past posts will bear out the accuracy of his analyses over the years. The blog is informative and entertaining. I'm sure we're not the only clients that ended up working with Jim after becoming fans of his blog. When it was time for us to sell our home and move out of state, Gene was convinced Jim's expertise and described selling strategies were just what we needed to effect a quick sale for a good price. I've got to say that Gene was absolutely right. I think we'd have had to look far and wide to find an agent at Jim's level of skill and service. At our first meeting I knew we were in good hands as Jim described his intended strategy for presenting our house to as many potential buyers as possible, pricing it well to stimulate interest, and providing great suggestions on what we could do to make our house show at its best. We weren't listed a full week by the time we entered into escrow. Jim's real estate company is a family affair. Once the client's home is in escrow, Donna, his wife, takes over coordinating the details of getting all the forms and documents for escrow organized for us, including getting the termite inspection and repairs scheduled, title insurance, etc. Their daughter Kayla also works with them, and the three of them make an incredible team. Right in the middle of escrow, about 3 weeks from closing, the fires that broke out all over North County San Diego got dangerously close to our home and we were under mandatory evacuation for four days at a time we were supposed to be readying the house for the move. The Klinges provided much needed support throughout what ended up being the single most stressful sale of a home we'd ever experienced. I thank goodness and Klinge Realty that escrow closed on schedule, and buyers and sellers were both very satisfied with the transaction. (That's the way I always hope things work out, both parties feeling they've made a fair and equitable deal.) I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jim Klinge whether buying or selling a home. I just hope we find a Jim Klinge clone up here when we start searching for our next home. read more

I'm so glad we found Klinge Realty. My husband and I really enjoyed looking at houses with Jim. He's totally honest and will tell you the good, bad and the ugly about each house and each neighborhood. Unfortunately our home viewing has come to an end because Jim found a lovely house for us to buy in Solana Beach...and it wasn't even on the market yet. We live abroad, so Jim would update us with videos of the home as it was being renovated. He went above and beyond to keep us informed and put together the deal. It's really tough finding a good house for sale at the moment, so having a realtor like Jim is invaluable. After our offer had been accepted, Donna Klinge's expertise came into play in dealing with escrow, contracts, closing, insurance and all the things that need to be sorted out when buying a house. They make a great team. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more
